It's so hard to believe that Uncle Phil is gone.. much less that we are almost at the 1 year anniversary of his passing (Oct 7, 2012).

I will actually be in St. Petersberg October 10-13, which is roughly 40 minutes away from where Phil resided in Florida.

I am the process of trying to connect with Phil's Marilyn in some way while I am in Florida, to pay my respects and honor a man who has meant so many to us here. I had the chance to meet him several times in person and I firmly believe that his love for the people and this place, and our love in return, is what helped him hang on for as long as he did.

I would love to be able to provide Marilyn with stories, pictures, anecdotes, thoughts, mention of additional donations that might have been made in his honor. If things were reposted here, or new stories shared for those of us who might not have seen them all in the goodbye thread. I would try to put them together in a memorial book somehow. If you'd like to PM me things privately, please do!

cynthetiq and I are also collaborating with a creative team on a global project that will also contribute to a living memorial of Phil on the anniversary of his passing. More details to come as we finalize things!

@Hanxter I'm tagging you since you knew him better than any of us.

If you would like to have a note put in the book - Go ahead and either put it in this thread with the words "FOR THE BOOK" before it, or PM me and I will get it from you that way :)

I spent time with Phil and Mars and had tentative plans to spend more. Not as much as others but it was quality time, the man was larger than life (normally I hate that expression but in Phil's case I can't think of anything else that comes close to describing him.) Phil and I are both earlier risers and would often chat a few minute or simply exchange posts in his ever popular "posting games" around 0400-0500 nearly every morning. I miss him. I miss his sense of humor. I miss his straight forward, no BS, take on situations.Phil was a guy who said what he meant and meant what he said.

When Phil visited down here we went to a Maya ruin site and spent the afternoon at a restaurant/bar at Mahahual near the Mexican/Belize border. I'm in the market for a new vehicle. If I find one before the 7th I plan on having a Scotch and coke (it was a translation problem with the bartender) in his honor here-

I miss him. Sometimes, when I'm responding here about something, there are certain things that just hit this Uncle Phil button for me. I never could convince him that college had gotten ridiculously expensive.

I'll never forget what he did for @shanifaye's bridal shower. Please include some TP wedding dress pics. They are a must.

Also.. we had lots and lots of less active folks chime into the previous thread when the sad news got out, or people re-join this site in order to pay condolences. I am reaching out to them but if you all can help me, that would be appreciated!!

amonkie you can use the following if you want.

Uncle Phil was one of the first people to ever reach out to me when I first joined the TFP. Of course I joined for the porn and he was always there he kind of showed me the ropes a little bit and help me understand how not to piss people off. Lol. He and I spend a lot of mornings together on the game forum trying to outdo one another and of course he always one no matter what kind of pics that we were posting. I got to know him a little bit Justin conversation on the TFP I know this place has not been the same since he has passed and I have a hard time going back to the game forum knowing he won't be there. Not only did we on the TFP lose a great man and friend to some but the world lost a lot more than that. I sure do miss him

  12. I really wish I had gotten to know him better while he was still here. But even though I didn't know him as well as y'all did, I can just tell that there's a huge piece of TFP missing without him here.

I love the idea behind this, and only wish that I had something to contribute.

the_jazz, the pleasure and honor is, as always, mine.

I believe Uncle Phil actually got to see a few of the early ones, courtesy of Freetofly sending him cards including pics from the board. :)

Raising a glass to him...just like we did when he came and visited a few times.
He was a great person to chill with.
I'm sure he's chillin' with the best.

Yes he did get to see all of the pictures you sent to me.

Marilyn said he looked forward to getting the cards in the mail.
It was the only time he would put his glasses on when he was really sick.

    He loved all you TFPers!
