Authorities are urging indoor masking in major cities as the 'tripledemic' rages — NPR

Problem is this, the masks are good at preventing one thing
    Germs going out the airway.

They don’t prevent things going in
And they don’t prevent touch germs.

So, that’s good for keeping Covid away from others
    Which is kind of y’all
    Something is better than nothing

But people have forgotten the other sanitary habits.

For example, just yesterday, I saw a guy take a piss
Then immediately leave, using the door handle

But this is just the tip of the iceberg.
There’s coughing, sneezing, snot on hands, or just normal mouth/nose to hand activity and vice versa.
I’m guilty of it too. It’s instinct.
Eating, wiping nose, a quick cough and so on.

This is why people need to be wary, take precautions.
Live your life, do things…but put the odds in your favor.

If ya don’t have to be around a lot of people indoors, don’t…minimize the time. Reduce the odds.
If you can grab a handle indirectly, do it.
Use your shirt or coat, keep open the door by your foot, grab it by an edge. Something where most others don’t touch. Reduce the odds.

    And wash your friggin’ hands!
Give the evil eye and raised eyebrow to those that don’t.
If you forget, ok…just kick yourself, remember next time. Each time helps.
Plus it’s gross if ya don’t, y’know.

(BTW, grease, dust and dirt, I’m not talking about…it’s germs from people…the crud)

If you can take a shot. Do it. It’s a split second.
Like a paper cut or thorn prick.
It’s not guaranteed but it helps.
    Increase the odds of prevention.

All these things add up. Everything counts.
It helps overall too, not just you.
It helps kill the crud. It helps keep it from spreading.
    It help build resistance.

We’re in this because we isolated (which was good, it helped get it under control)
But we all forgot the other stuff to prevent it.

    Remember, it’s not JUST Covid
But it’s the flu, RSV and a multitude of OTHER colds and crud.
    (I already had 2 this Fall, it ain’t fun..costs $$$ too)

BTW, if the first doc or med did NOT work
Don’t tough it out. There’s no points for this.
Get a better med or meds. Get a better doc.
    Throw down the gauntlet.
Don’t let the system slow ya or stop you.
    Your health is IMPORTANT!

For us too…because y’all “might” be a part of the problem…
    Fix it.
Only you can prevent fires (bug fires too) :)

COVID-19 is about to explode in China. What that could mean for the United States. — USA TODAY

Talk about ripping off the bandaid the hard way!!!

I mean, they’re going to have to do it, sooner or later.

But Xi and the party have decided to go now…
Since the people in masses are protesting the zero tolerance draconian isolation methods that China has done so far.

I do wish the best for the people.
The government and leaders, not so much.

    Karma’s a bitch
But as usual, in China, the people pay the price.
For poor choices by the leaders

Covid-19’s Spread in China Might Tell Us How Deadly Omicron Really Is — The Wall Street Journal

Nature’s way of population control, tragically.

And China’s leadership and methods are adding to it.

Unfortunately, the US President at the time did a piss poor job, but certainly not as bad as China.

Ironically, India is going to become the most populated nation…and this is adding to the total.

I truly wonder how many people the leaders could have saved globally, IF they’d just reacted with empathy instead of ego (or ideas of power & money)

Again…Nature’s way of population control, tragically
(and the failure of people who CAN do something)

The US somehow managed (absolutely not as well as we could have & should have) under NPD Trump's stubborn bungling because he couldn't stop private industry & some agencies from doing what needed to be done.

The Chinese government is certainly guilty of many wrongdoings, but the relaxing of Covid restrictions appears -- appears -- to be what the Chinese people want.

Eight in 10 people in China caught Covid since early December, say officials — Guardian US

This will probably trigger another wave…

Sigh, at least most post-industrial nations have progressed and come out with vaccines and boosters and have ways of distributing now.
As well as communications to let people know to get it.

The only ones likely vulnerable are those who have been foolish enough to not get anything or keep up.

This crud will keep mucking about in cycles until it’s not passed anymore or “bitten” anyone not adequately protected.

    I don’t believe I’ve gotten it yet.
    Certainly not isolating myself anymore.
Just kept up to date on shots.
Stuff doesn’t even make me tired anymore, only the first couple did that.

    Interesting how medicine works.

Terrible that so many had to get ill or die
due to leaders inaction, incompetence or coverup.
    China’s still paying a price.

    Where ever I roam
It seems like Biden wants something to celebrate at his state of the union speech next Tuesday, and just hoping the Covid numbers are down by May. Although it might be a safe bet to say that the numbers will be lower since they usually go down in May.

Biden administration will end COVID-19 emergencies on May 11

There hasn't been the big spike in cases in the US like there was last year around this time, but there are still quite a few new infections and a few thousand people dying each week.

    Great news
    Finally

We may be able to kill this sucker off.

And hopefully we will learn from it.
Like how to deal with a pandemic.

Problem is, nature usually waits until there are whole new set of people in control…
And they will make the wrong decisions too.

A closer look at the U.S. pandemic response reached an unsettling conclusion

Covid, could have been a LOT worse, we got lucky.
TFG denied it and undermined the response.
It got a lot of people killed. (and even more hospitalized and living with long-term consequences)

    My question is...
Have we learned our lesson? Will we be prepared for another...or even bigger one?
    Answer, it depends.
It really depends on who is in charge.

Wilson denied his pandemic - the Spanish Flu
    Trump denied this one
And if we have another selfish prick...they could potentially deny and repress the response to an even worse one.

Meanwhile, China is slowly rewriting history, repressing what happened and sweeping this under the run.

History is likely to be doomed to repeat itself.
    Ignorance is NOT bliss.

WHO declares end to Covid global health emergency — STAT

    Well, it’s official.

Even though it’s been said it’s still a major cause of death. (and hospitalizations…6th on the list of the top?)

And they’re still debating the cause/source
    With China slowly covering up.

But perhaps we can get this out of minds.
Stop the damn mask protocols at medical appointments.

And thankfully the economy has recovered and seems to be robust.

    Hopefully, we learned something.
And we’re prepared for the next big one.

Because it’s not if, it’s when.
