WILD PLANET WILD PACIFIC SARDINES IN EVOO...
The only negative is that they are "processed" in Vietnam,
Anyone tried these, VIETNAM, hmmmm, I dunno' well it ain't CHINA (UGH)
Needless to say I DO NOT WORK FOR OR HAVE ANY STOCK IN OR HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH EITHER COMPANY.

He has a very sensitive sense of smell, and it makes him nauseous. It's one of a laundry list of smells not allowed when he's around. It's considerate on the one hand, and on the other, I don't want to deal with his bitching and moaning afterward.

My SO can't stand the idea of eating sardines (but will eat canned tuna). She does, however, buy me cans of sardines when I request them. :) I'm nice, though. I'll only eat them when she's not around.

Sardines are great because they're low in mercury (esp. compared to tuna) and are highly replenishable (esp. compared to tuna). They also have high omega-3 content comparable to salmon (but with the aforementioned benefits).

Sardines are great! When I can get them fresh, I like to grill them and then lay them on toast with some olive oil drizzled on them... maybe some herbs.

    So tasty.

All this talk makes me want to puke. Can't stand fish. My ex used to eat salmon, and that was bad enough. I would throw it on the grill occasionally for her. I wish I liked fish, but I don't. And I am sensitive to smells. I can smell pot and alcohol a mile away.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

    Love em.
Just recently found a new "flavor". King Oscar sardines with cracked pepper. Even yummier than the plain ones but they do come back to visit for a few hours after you eat them.
I try to avoid seafood from China and Vietnam. I think filth and poisonous food are acceptable there and we are doing nothing in this country to check the safety of the imports.

Well of course you do. What I want to know is how you open the cans with flippers.

I just had a sardine omelet for lunch. (Why haven't I thought of making this before?)

It's gonna be awesome when I make one with smoked herring.

I picked up a tin of the Wild Planet sardines in EVOO at the local grocery today. They never did show up at my Costco :( but man, these are good sardines. I put them on top of a Caesar salad.
