Interesting concept--something like an air cruise...

    But 3 immediate problems:
1.) Lightning. Those people walking upright are going to get it, hanging around clouds like that.
2.) What if they drift in to the ocean?
3.) What if a giant gust capsizes the thing? Falling 30,000 feet doesn't sound very relaxing.

I really don't think this is a serious transport solution. 'Want to go to New York? - the prevailing winds are taking us in that general direction', doesn't sound like a brilliantly thought through transport strategy

Even if the idea is just to take people up in to the sky for lazy drifting, I would still be afraid of the thing capsizing.

I like this concept. They need to take it a step further, though. Whole cities living in the clouds.
Just add engines and rudders and you can go where you want.

I don't know about the women, but I'm hangin' it off the side. "Bomb's awa-a-ay!!"

This seems a little more likely. Or the US military R&D ones (I saw them on the Internet earlier today, but can't find it now)

They need to use hydrogen generated by the solar panels on the ground to get lift... Helium is getting to be too expensive and limited.

    As for the cloud
The problem I see is that it is very cold that high, it will only move west to east, and they would be better off getting in a sailboat and not living on a schedule anymore.
