It's the same shit the phone company does with their bill. We want it, so we'll pay.

 

Yeah paying for the convenience of using your own printer pisses me off no end.

 

Everyone should send them a bill for the convenience of using your printer and ink instead of theirs.

I am glad we don't have Tickemaster here. The company that runs ticket sales here only charges a buck or two.

I wonder how the new competitor that just started will be price wise.

 

There are a few bands that are experimenting with electronic tickets only. Basically, you pay your fee, the tickets are sent to your smartphone or iPad etc and a device at the gate scans it. I'm not sure if the prices are still bloated with extra fees like the normal ones, but that would be something I could get behind. If it was only a buck or two for that type of delivery, I'd hope that more bands would go this route. It's not like the venues or the ticket distributors aren't getting paid.

I wonder if when people attempt to scalp their tickets they do this based on actual ticket value, or the total they paid. It might almost be a more profitable option to let someone else pay the initial fees and just buy the ticket from them instead of the distributor.

 

I freaking HATE Ticketmaster. I have for a very very long time. I am old enough to remember a time before ticketmaster. I miss the days of concerts being $25.

 

One of the local venues tends to charge $10 for the ticket plus $12 for Ticketmaster fees. Fuck Ticketmaster.

 

Now the redistributors, or legal scalpers, are charging processing fees, as if charging 3x face value was a legitimate business that required a service fee.
