Happy Sports Movies?

I'm looking for sports movies with no underlying tragedies to show tomorrow. The ability to stream it on Netflix or Hulu is a plus.

What are your favorite happy or inspirational sports movies?

I enjoy Hoosiers, Remember the Titans, and of course, Rudy. I grew up watching sports movies pretty regularly because my brother loved them. I even saw Juwanna Mann in the theater, which is just ridiculous.

The Natural has a bit of drama/tragedy near the beginning, but has a heroic ending.

  3. I thought of several happy ones however I don't know if they are age appropriate due to language, drinking, etc. Happy Gilmore, Major League, Dodgeball, Bring It On, Blades Of Glory, Bad News Bears. Maybe the last one. Don't know the age of your class, I think pretty young. I know some schools are very careful about playing video in class for obvious reasons. I hope you find a good one, this is a great idea. My thoughts will be with you tomorrow. Has to be a very rough day.

PG-13 is fine. I'm just looking for something I can throw on if need be.

A League of their Own. Oh, scratch that... one of their husbands is killed in action.

I love Field of Dreams. Her kids are probably young enough that classics like Karate Kid and Rocky might actually be something they've never seen.

And Rocky is a movie we have on our shelf for film class.

No matter how many times I watch that movie, that scene always gets to me.

I second the Mighty Ducks and the Sandlot. Two of my favorite movies.

Oh, and also: Cool Runnings. I don't remember if there's anything inappropriate, since it's been a while since I've seen it, but I DO remember watching it on the last day of school in junior high, so it couldn't have been too bad.

I second third and fourth and million times over Space Jam.

    Sandlot is awesome.

    Mighty Ducks rocks my world.

And Baseketball is fantastic, but prooobably not appropriate.

Quality sucks, but I feel like this needs to be posted.

And it's not as good as the Sandlot, but I liked Rookie of the Year a lot when I was a kid.

Cool Runnings is so great. I think I need to watch it again this weekend.
