Mother's advice to daughter

In a women's magazine they interviewed some woman in her 60's, I think, so she was born around the 50's. She was reminiscing her childhood in the Finnish countryside. Her mother was a typical housewife in those days.

Mother's advice to her daughter regarding men was, that "the man has to have liquor and women and he has to find these things at home".

Well, if women would follow this advice, some of the marital problems might be solved, but can you advice girls today the same? Or should you?

Well, as a man, booze and pussy are two of the three reasons that compel me to return home.

    No, really.

    ...

This statement totally wouldn't fly with women today. I mean, women have their own variant.

Garbage like: "Women need a big wallet and a big dick and they have to find it at home."

The one lesson I learned about my mother, was not to get a boyfriend, whom she can flirt with. Seriously. I didn't think there could be a future with me and a guy, if it showed he gets along with my mother too well.

As a young couple we lived in a row house. One night I could hear the arguing from the neighbour's bedroom. It was a couple with two small kids. The guy was obviously insisting, he get pussy, but the woman was claiming to have yeast infection as the reason, why she wouldn't. The guy threatened to leave right then, but the woman wouldn't let him leave in the middle of the night, so she apparently gave in, as I heard her tell him to come back to bed. I didn't hear any talking (or other noises) after that.

It sounded to me the woman had the upper hand, it was not like she was threatened with violence or anything. We didn't know them well, but the guy seemed like he gets drunk often, and not at home. It didn't take long after they separated.

Amusing. I've heard my wife talking to her friends before and her advise: "swallow, or someone else will." Man, I love my wife!

I'm reading a blog of a male "equality activist". He claims, that lack of sex is the problem with equality of rights.

The article is in Finnish, I should have to translate it all really, but I'm only posting these few items. He uses links to other articles to support his theory. I'll link you to those, which are in English.

    He claims:
Men want more sex, they want to get sex earlier in the start of relationship and with several partners compared to women. This situation of supply and demand gives power to the woman in a relationship. Since this is partly due to biological differences, we can never mend the societal problems.

Average woman gets sex from a perfectly stranger with a probability of 70%, men 0%. http://www.seductionlabs.org/2007/06/20/stranger-sex/ On dating sites women practically don't have to be initiative at all. In the bars "women can wait" for men to hit on them. Significant number of men don't get sex, because a smaller number of "top-level men" can satisfy the needs of several women. Hence polygamy benifits women, but not men. Those of men, who don't get sex, are qualified as low-level men.

Sex is a basic need. Denmark pays the visits to the prostitutes on behalf of disabled. http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/archive/ldn/2005/sep/05093003

In UK they pay for these visits on behalf of young anguished men. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...bled-visit-prostitutes-lap-dancing-clubs.html
It's unethical to admit this service for disabled, but leave the healthy without.

On significant reason to commit suicide is lacking of sex partners. http://lesswrong.com/lw/2l7/problems_in_evolutionary_psychology/2fn5?c=1

Men commit 78% of suicides. Since lack of sex is not as big problem for women as it is for men, this creates inequality.

    His demands government to:
    1) Increase prostitution by legalizing bordellos. Negative reputation of prostitution needs to be eliminated by education. Doctors should be able to prescribe visits to prostitutes as a cure for lacking of sex. Vouchers given to young people to use for sex services.

    2) Arrange better availability for sex toys, also for those with low incomes.

    3) Educate people so that loneliness, unvoluntary celibacy and shamefulness of virginity would not be men's burden. The worst way to insult a man today is to call him a "virgin". Calling someone "gay" is so common these days, it's not considered as offensive.

    4) Educate girls about sexuality in schools. The more girls and women have sex, the more equal our society will become. Schools need to teach, that sex is acceptable, fun and safe. "Sluttiness" as a social stigma needs to be eliminated, this means more sex. Women have to be more initiative about sex. Albeit a great portion of the sex will go to "top-level" men, this will alleviate the current problem at least a little.

Who is to blame, when men expect women to act according to this type of advice (OP), but women clearly don't? School, mothers or government?

The writer is young, 22. He seems to think only young men suffer from lack of sex. Also I question his sources regarding studies of sexual behaviour. I disagree with his statements of men wanting or needing more sex.

I agree with the writer in one thing: women are called sluts, if they put out more than average. This usually coming from other women.

One problem imo is male domination. Women could be more generous to several men, but men don't really like this idea of sharing. Apparently when the writer mentions "polygamy" he was thinking it's only men's right. If this was totally acceptable by men and society, I don't think it would be a very big problem for women to share with several men.

Any thoughts on this provocative speech? ;)

Wouldn't it be better to control men's urges with medication? Women are eating pills to prevent pregnancies, these pills change their hormones, and hence their behaviour in my opinion.
