I was thinking about the stories of time gone by. Stories that have become myths. And these myths in turn, as the ages pass, have slipped away. New people, new lands, new stories, each in turn slipping into that deep and faraway place we sometimes connect into and call it a dream.

  8. Im drawn to the stone "breadcrumbs" that lead to the pillars in the background. It got me thinking about the stone structures on Guam and how they relate to the old and nearly forgotten stories of the Chamorro people.

“Chrysalis” 24”x36” acrylic on canvas. I thought this old thread I’d started could (in the spirit of Easter) be resurrected by adding a fresh painting.

Again with a new thing in the thread.
I’m working on a painting I’d put aside a couple of years ago.
It’s an interesting thing to do, realizing a mental vision by dabbing coloured paste (aka acrylic paint) onto canvas.
Slow though. It’s so hard for me to see at first. Then the process of painting morphs my mental vision with what is actually happening to the painting while I dab away. There’s a law out there that says the thing observed is changed by the act of being observed. (that dynamic is what I believe powers reality, btw). My current creative process mirrors that law in a way.
Here’s a section of my Work in Progress WIP.
*edited to add that the section posted is about standard letter size in dimensions - the painting itself is a canvas 24”wide x 36” high

I finally finished this pair of paintings, just in time for the Art Tour I'm participating in here in Toronto. I call it an asymmetric diptych because the left side is 16" wide and the right side is 20" wide.

“Joining Rhythm” 16”x20” acrylic on stretched canvas. Finally. I had this one parked for a few years. It’s about time I finished up some work tucked away here & there.

I’m waiting to get my paintings imaged because I need 3 for a discount. I’ve only got one done, and the second is in the end game. I’m posting because I have an urge to get other eyes on the work.
