In the collective are writers and musicians and visual artists who publish stuff, have shows/performances and/or release new recordings out into the world.

Everyone who puts out such material would like more rather than fewer people to check out their work and maybe, should they be so inclined, to interact with it and/or comment on it someplace.

So if you make stuff that you're putting out into the world, post your news.
Consider this a space for shameless self-promotion.
And if you check out the work and are feeling inclined to post something about it, feel free.

I'm not sure if it makes most sense to post links direct to your work or to the venue that's hosting your work. That depends, I suppose, on ease of access from one place to another. Maybe provide both? Your call, of course.

I have a piece out this morning in BluePrint Review

    http://www.blueprintreview.de/28soundtrack.htm

The piece is from my 100 Days Project. The layout is by Dorothee Lang, who also edits the journal.

    Here's the main page:

    There's lots of lovely things.

amelia, one of my pieces (about amelia earhardt being eaten alive by crabs) is going to be read by robert vaughn as part of flash fiction fridays on wuwm in milwaukee this friday. it should happen sometime between 11:30 and noon central time. it'll be available in the archive section from about an hour after the show.

    here's the link:

    http://www.wuwm.com/programs/lake_effect/index.php

    have a listen.

the story was published in thunderclap 6 this spring. robert was kind enough to decide to read it on his show. i didn't even have to ask him. and no monies changed hands. this is the first time anything this public has happened with my writing, so am pretty excited. check it out if you can.

I just listened to the reading.
It is a really lovely story.
And I am amused that you require a disclaimer.

thanks, mm. the warning to children amused me to no end. almost as much as the chipper xylophone music that started during the lasts section of the story.

i'm pleased that it kind of rattled the host of the show, though. it's nice to find these curious little toys disturbing people.

four stories came out today by way of connotation press. plus my first interview as a writer (!)...
have a look should you feel so inclined.

    http://connotationpress.com/fiction/1048-a-note-from-meg-tuite-fiction-editor

not all is idyllic tho...at the moment, half of my last story in the sequence, capsule, has been cut off. it looks like a page went missing. i expect it'll be fixed soon...the others are all in place.

with the interview, i made a rule: don't sound like an asshole. turned out to be more complicated than i expected.

  6. Well you succeded, not even close to coming off as an asshole.

I've been doing it all wrong, all these years! :)

i have a reworking of the prometheus story out here:

    http://52250fiftytwoquarterly.wordpress.com/frequent-flasher-special/

and there's a couple other things in the interior of the collection as well.
plus there's lots of treats to read. some lovely writers. i was fortunate to be included in the 52/250 project. made a big difference in these peculiar little pieces. the project ended in may: they've done quarterlies over the course of it that work like little anthologies. have a look around.

i have two new pieces out in thunderclap no.7, the music issue. you can get the whole thing by chasing links here:

    http://thunderclappress.com/2011/10...s-together-that-can-be-a-very-powerful-thing/

there are some good writers included in this issue so it's worth picking up. my two things are curious and turn up after the preview stops, so if you're innarested go here:

    http://100edgeeffects.tumblr.com/post/11068051759/138-four-compositions-after-lamonte-young

these are a series of 4 verbal scores for sound performance. so reading them is one thing. it'd be better still to perform them. let me know about the outcomes if you do them.

    the other one:

    http://100edgeeffects.tumblr.com/post/11068254798/139-meta-composition

is An Imaginary Piece for Film Projectors, Prepared Piano, Brass, Shortwave Radio and Sound Distributor

have a look should opportunity and inclination coincide.

a couple new things are out in the world.

my piece "burning" is just out in blue five notebook http://bluefifthreview.wordpress.com/2012/01/15/blue-five-notebook-january-2012-12-1/

in which there is a sculpture garden based in ovid's metamorphosis that kind of captures a group of young boys for a while. this issue is full of other lovely things to read as well.

and a piece from last year, elsewhere, has been included in an anthology from fwriction: review
    http://issuu.com/fwrictionreview/docs/fwr-_year_one
my piece is from feb., but there's lots of treats to read here and so it's worth trawling around.

    have a look.
    hope you like.

this is kinda cool. sometimes i put things up at fictionaut. there's a fair number of writers who put things up here and many of them quite good, so it's an interesting source if you're looking for short fiction and/or poetry to read and don't feel like going out to the locally owned bookstore that of course you frequent and support...the problem is that new things are only visible to the community as a whole while they are on the front page. but with so many people writing stuff, things can get bumped off pretty quickly. so last month they started this features, editor's eye, and are bringing in guest editors. this time around, the editor picked one of my pieces along with 5 others. she says nice things and i didn't even have to pay her to do it. you can click through to the story from the title (it's in red, kinda evident, but maybe not.) enjoy...

it's been a little while, but today brings a bunch of stuff....an unplanned convergence i guess.

7 of the stories from calamity in clamville, a potential radio opera, a novella i made a couple years ago, just appeared here:

    Gone Lawn 8 : Stephen Hastings-King

it's kind of about the tiny town i live in. with modifications of course. i wasn't sure about publishing any of these separately for a long time, but my friend edmond, who edited this issue, talked me into it. maybe you get an idea of how the whole thing works. even if you don't, hope you enjoy them.

and it's a potential radio opera because i had the idea that it would be a radio opera. but i haven't made it into one by recording it. so it goes.

and another story came out in a quite different mode here:

Dunes by Stephen Hastings-King « Flash Fiction Musings for The Literary Minded

have a look should opportunity and inclination coincide.
    enjoy.
