    They almost did it!
We finished skiing and I couldn't believe it was tied when I checked scores. We caught the end of overtime on the car radio.
So close to such a giant gift for the Bills.:)

    Fucking Texans.

It would better if they lost 50-3. It's not like many of the current coaches are going to be around once "we" land a franchise (hopefully) QB.

What are they going to do about Loser Lovie? Hopefully his pathetic ass is gone five minutes after the Texans finish their last 2022 game.

Are the girls showing some chinks in their armor? Two closes games, a loss against the Jags, & a win against the toilet brush Texans...I can hope.

Timeouts carry over to your next game, Coach Saleh?

How low can the Titans sink? If the Titans fire Drabol, which would be a horrible knee-jerk reaction, the Texans should pursue him as HC.

The Eagles have a great record, they've beaten some very good teams. They didn't have Hurts at QB. The girls aren't a crap team. But it always seems like the Eagles always blow a big game when it seriously counts.

Mentioning the girls, are they showing some weaknesses? I sure hope so. In the POs they might face the Bucs, which would force me to root for Brady. Which is a sickening thought.

I just watched Tua throw a pick that should seal the win for the Packers. Fuck Aaron "Vaccinated" Rodgers.

There were a couple of games where I should have been rooting for the Bucs because they were playing teams where the Bills would have been helped by a Bucs victory.
    I just couldn't do it.
It's not possible for me to root for him.

Broncos fan here. I was feeling decent about the Russell Wilson trade last spring. Yes it's a high price to pay for a guy that only has four or five good years left, I thought at the time. But I figured we can't draft or develop a qb so may as well trade for one. Wow. The Broncos are so screwed for so long.

If I'm a Seahawks fan I'm absolutely giddy about getting a top five first and second round pick this spring in addition to the first and second they got last year for a washed qb. If I'm a Vikings fan I'm giddy that people will finally STFU about the Herschel Walker trade when talking about the worst trade in NFL history.

In terms of measurables I have seen where we were better off with Brock Osweiler, Trevor Siemian, Joe Flacco, Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater or Drew Lock. We weren't that much worse off with Kendall Hinton in the COVID game a couple years ago. I was hoping we would take a flyer on Baker Mayfield but the Rams were higher in the waiver order at the time so we would not have got him even if we did pursue him.

I know some will say it's coaching, and yes Hackett was a bad hire. But a true #1 qb can still lead a team to success. When Elway and Reeves were feuding Elway was still a top tier qb. Russell has just been bad.

    I wonder if Wilson:
    will adjust next season?
    has very suddenly aged?
    was overhyped?

How could Elway, a former QB, be so inept at evaluating QBs?

My theory on Elway is that when he was a player he mostly watched film on opposing defenses so he only learned to evaluate defensive players. One draft pick he got right was Von Miller. When he drafted Von he said something along the lines of Vons tape reminding him of watching tape of Derrick Thomas, who always had Elways number.

I'm not sure this fixes anything but you can't just fire Russell Wilson and get all your money and draft picks back so others take the fall first.

This could complicate things for bad teams that will being looking for a new HC. Hot candidates might see Denver as good situation, or not, depending on how they see Wilson, & building an offense around him.

That's an interesting way to look at it and I hadn't thought of it that way.

J.J. Watt has announced his retirement at the end of this season.

    I have mixed feelings.

He was one the most dedicated athletes the Texans ever had. And one of the most talented & dangerous defensive players in the NFL.

He was an amazing player when healthy. The thing is many people were so impressed his play they ignore the amount of time he was injured. I'm not putting the injuries on JJ (unless some were PED related and he just happened to never get caught, & let's be honest that's a real possibility), but playing consistently is part of an athlete's legacy.

His departure to join a team with real SB potential wasn't a surprise, & he knew under O'Brien the Texans were being unraveled. Unfortunately the Cardinals (who overpaid him big time) ended up struggling, & JJ was yet again injured. I'd also argue that he was definitely well on the downside of his career.

JJ did have a pretty good season. This is probably the right time to walk away.

    ********
There's one thing that hit the news & died very quickly: What has happened with the over $37M JJ raised to help victims of Hurricane Harvey? No one has ever questioned Watt's honesty, but his competence in working with the right people to handle the funds properly was questioned. And rightfully so, people deserve to know how the money they donated is being spent. My admittedly quick search didn't find any details.

    That was my reaction too.
That was a completely mundane play and tackle. It wasn't like when you see guys get hit by someone running full speed, or they have their head bounce off the turf.

I was starting to wonder if either the Titans or Jaguars really wanted to win.

You can't put this on the Titans defense.

Lots of possibilities still in play for the Bengals, Chiefs and Bills.
I'm just focused on the Bills winning today which shouldn't be too hard against this version of the Patriots.
Bills win, they are the #2 seed. No bye week, but the first 2 games of playoffs are at home and if they make it to the AFC championship against the Chiefs it's at a neutral site.

I think we're going to see some big upsets in the POs; none of the Great Records Teams look invulnerable.

It looks like I'm going end up having to root for the Bucs to upset the Cowboys. I've had my Psychotic Hatred of All Things Dallas Cowboys much longer than I've despised Brady.

Mentioning the girls...I've noticed that the number of "fans" wearing girls gear, esp starting after the girls establish a winning record, has diminished greatly. I guess the folks who remember the '95 season -- their last SB in '96, 27 years ago -- no longer care, & younger fans are cautious.

Reports are Lovie Smith is basically begging for another year with the Texans. I say no. Lovie peaked years ago. If we're going to start with a new, hopefully franchise, QB, let's start with a fresh coaching staff.

Everybody has Georgia beating TCU, I'm pulling for the Horned Frogs. If it were the Longhorns or Aggies I'd root for the Bulldogs.

What the hell were the Texans thinking, winning a game they needed to lose?

If the Bears don't trade down in the draft, the Texans will still have their choice of two top QBs, Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud. If the Bears do, the Texans will most like have to tke the QB still available.

    Bryce Young. or C.J. Stroud.
    C.J. Stroud, or Bryce Young.

Brady played long enough to break at least one of hi records..but based on 17 game season. Of course he did.
