I found this interesting bit from this link -
"The nikonos V is a great system but it has been discontinued several years ago.
I would not worry about film avaliability in this case. The main issue is that it is very difficult to find new O-rings which have to be replaced frequently. These are not standard measure O-ring that you can get easily. It takes just a small amount of salt water inside the camera to damage it permanently."

which also has this comment -
"... The Nik is certainly a nice (if specialised) piece of kit though and they can get into your blood. By the way Nikon apparently no longer make the silicone O rings they need to seal the cameras and so you have to locate a suitable alternate supplier. I recall a post here a few months back in which the technical aspects were discussed (apparently a certain silicone composition is needed) so it would pay you to research that post and that issue before taking the plunge (OK pun intended!)"

What type of lens(es) did you get with it?
edit: this is from the wikipedia page:
"Because of its waterproof housing, lens options, and toughness, the Nikonos was an important tool for photographers working in the steaming jungles, flooded rice paddies, and rain-lashed battlefields of the Vietnam War. The wire services loaded their Nikonos cameras with Tri-X, Ektacolor-X or High-Speed Ektachrome.["

Now I feel the "need" to buy one of these cameras from Nikon.... (which is also means buying compatible glass, not going to happen anytime soon on either count)
