    2016 sucks, man... :(

    Gene Wilder passes at 83

    Loved this guy.

    The Waco Kid
    Dr. Fraankensteen.
The Fox in the Little Prince
The Psychologist in "everything you wanted to know about sex...but were afraid to ask"
Played with Richard Pryor in Silver Streak and others following.
    the Producers
    The Woman in Red
    etc, etc, etc...

Why can't I say here..."Strike that! Reverse It!!" (damn, I even get good science & tech ideas from that phrase)

    A very SAD day, indeed.

    One very sad day.

I love Blazing Saddles but I can't find an uncut version. I ordered an uncut version off some major online site, probably Amazon. They left more in the TV version but they still cut out the "N' word. Do I have some odd love of that word? No not at all. I just feel it takes a lot away from the movie because it's used in such a humorous way. And entire scenes or portions of scenes end up being cut because without that word they make no sense. So no I don't really like the word in question. In fact this is the only situation I can think of where I miss hearing it. Simply because Mel Brooks used it so wonderfully to point out the stupidity of bigots.

To me I guess it's like porn. I'd like to be able to view what want to view in my own home. What is done or said in public would or could be another situation.

"Gene Wilder-One of the truly great talents of our time. He blessed every film we did with his magic & he blessed me with his friendship" - @MelBrooks (8/29/2016)

Playing accountant Leo Bloom opposite Zero Mostel’s producer Max Bialystock in The Producers, Wilder earned a Supporting Actor Oscar nomination in 1969. He also was Oscar co-nommed with Brooks for the Young Frankenstein script. (Wilder was also credited on Brooks’ 2007 Broadway musical version of Young Frankenstein.)

The two loves are together again. I really loved Gilda's and Gene's films together, but I especially loved them in Haunted Honeymoon.

You will be missed, Gene. R.I.P.

    Very sad news.

My wife told me last night, thinking that I had already heard it.

Since I heard that Gene Wilder had Alzheimer's disease, I try to view his death as a blessing for him.

@Tully Mars, I'm 97% certain that our copy of Blazing Saddles on DVD (official release not a bootleg), hasn't been cut. And it has quite a bit of Special Features (Bonus Material). If you want, I'll try to find it and get some of the numbers off it. Maybe that'll help you track down a copy.

OK, color me surprised, I found it in about 15 seconds:

    30th Anniversary Special Edition
    Mel Brooks'
    Blazing Saddles
    On the spine: 18959
On the scan tag: ISBN 0-7907-5735-4 and 0 (several spaces) 85391 (a couple of spaces) 89592 (several spaces) 3
