I mostly brush with baking soda. When I use toothpaste I use Tom's of Maine Propolis & Myrrh flavor. It's expensive, but a tube lasts almost forever.

Unless I forget to pack it when on the road. Then I just use whatever sickly sweet mint toothpaste the hotel has.

I prefer Crest for the taste. Otherwise I doubt there is too much difference between toothpaste performance. Toothpaste delivers a little fluoride and also has mild abrasives. The abrasives help scour off plaque buildup and tartar. If you have paint transfer from another car or a parking post, you can also often use toothpaste to clean it off because of the abrasives.

My dentist advised me to brush with toothpaste at least once every couple of weeks for the fluoride. And I use the little green plastic brush toothpicks between my teeth instead of floss. I keep them in my purse and car ashtray. Haven't flossed for years.

I've read about using toothpaste on cloudy headlights.

Ehh, I buy it at costco. So a single purchase buys 5 tubes at a time. It's not so bad. Plus I am a spendthrift in other areas. I dont use any tobacco products or drink any coffee products or any alcohol. So when it comes to saving money toothpaste is not a big deal compared to those categories. And my current car is 17 years old. The one that was just stolen was 19 years old. And my work is about 3 miles from my house so my commute is pretty short. And my gym is even closer, only two traffic lights between me and the gym. And the gym is even between home and work. Like directly on my commute. So I save in other areas. And I have not paid for porn since the internet came out.

OK, I just was realizing that saving on a very similar product was good.
Was at Costco yesterday for a $1.50 hot dog and $2.79/# Chicken breasts and $7.95 # Salmon fillets...never thought to check toothpaste
We do drink (?), Mrs.Daka has a glass or 2 of wine in the evening, I have a beer once in a while.
Since we are both retired we average about 5000 miles each on our cars she 05 M/B me 07 BMW...(each at about 45,000 miles)....however I'm looking to upgrade hers...more safety features, here in South FL, you need every bit of SAFETY.....(where else do you get overpriveliged teens driving $100.000 cars at 60mph over the speed limit, and crashing, ?)

No problem with saving money. I just buy what is convenient at costco. Im just glad you are brushing your teeth. Hahaha. I will buy a new car at some point. I need to. Before when I had two old worn out cars I knew if one broke down I could continue to drive other one. Now that one is stolen and I am down to one, I have more concern. I have the insurance money from my stolen car, but it is a small down payment. It's one of the reasons I almost never eat out for lunch at work. Though we do eat out too much for dinner. That hurts the unwritten budget.

Our dinners are generally cooked at home....Chicken/Salmon/Salad/Tillapia/pasta with shrimp or clams, or some combo of...sometimes breakfast for dinner....one night a week we Happy Hour for dinner 1/2 priced drinks and apps...(one beer for me, 2 Martini's for Mrs.D)
Tonight is a steak at Longhorn...I've been hearing that they are really good....we want to try...steak is a once in a while dinner....
New cars... NEVER, generally a 3 to 5 year old ...but mostly higher end ones...
In my lifetime I have been a "used car dealer" for 60 years...always as a hobby/side line...now not so much (I'm a retired Architect)...but I've always been pretty good at buying/selling.

I've found it does make a difference.
So now I "invest" and go out of my way for a certain kind. (Not expensive at all, but certainly not generic or just anything)

Texture and taste matter to me too, in addition to results.

Mine is currently Crest Pro-Health Advanced with gum protection.
