I'm putting this up to discuss him and his administration.

We mucked up the other thread on him.
So keep it sane and civil (that goes for me too...call me on it)

    What do you think?

His nominations so far are about as bad as anyone could ever make. He doesn't seem to be doing anything to separate him from the conflicts of interest he has. And Bannon and Conway are liars and evil people.

The problem (beyond his own actions) is that the ones that are suppose to check him and call him on his words
Are like the Keystone Kops, inept in their response...

Congress is led in half by those who are catering to him for their own power & agenda. (GOP)
The other half is in disarray, just shaking their fists...and still being too polite for their own good. (Dems)
The intelligence and security entities and VIPs are trying to play catchup and still trying to be "non-political" (CIA, FBI, NSA, DHS, etc...)
The media is still enjoying all the ratings...and while wringing their hands in semi-guilt, are simply putting up leading questions.
The courts can't really do anything until he's in power...while the prosecutors are settling their cases on him quick.

This is like a football player who's running back the whole field and none of the defenders can get their act together to touch him.

Yes, he *may* do something good...but all indications, actions and words so far show that he isn't even close to prime-time...and he's basically still playing a villain entertainer. (like his shtick on the Apprentice)

All I can hope for is Obama put some checks in place, that Trump won't find out until the 1st day. (with the cooperation of the Congressional security panel)
And to reverse them, he'd have to go through the courts and/or board of interest. (like the NSA, etc has to go to get authorization to get a warrant)
The president is not the king...there are checks on his power.
And actions taken have to have the acknowledgement of Congress and the Courts (perhaps now including the "button")

But right now, all I'm seeing is a slippery slope...

We should all have a clear understanding of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. For decades now, Donald John Trump's behavior has been mimicking those that suffer from it.
It's exhausting to catalog all the extreme statements he makes and that is precisely what he wants. The fact that we are already resorting to quoting his Twitter is indicative of the caliber of game we are engaged in.

I'm wondering if there will ever be a week that goes by without the nightly news mentioning Trump. I'm sure that the news went for a week without mentioning Clinton (pre-Monica), Bush, and Obama.

Not a shock as we knew how Trump loves things golden.
    Edit:
    PEOTUS is really upset.

Trump Denies Being Compromised by Russians in Flurry of Tweets

The difficulty for him is this...we've seen (and recorded...) most everything he denies is actually TRUE
THIS is the problem for US.

And that it seems he'll do anything to cover it up...

But at least Obama got him to sit with intelligence...warned him.
    and US.

The pattern is disturbing and scary.

Trump is reminding me more everyday what it was like when Rob Ford was mayor of Toronto.

This GoldenShowerGate business is being handled similarly to the crack smoking video. And the press conference... oh the memories.

Latest to Disagree With Donald Trump: His Cabinet Nominees

Ok, I'm cynical here...or is it because I've noticed a pattern and again & again, it comes true.
Trump has a tendency to say anything, to get his way and keep moving forward. Even if it's something he will totally contradict or do the opposite.
And many of his compatriots are doing it more than most politicians I've seen. (they all spin, it's just to what extent)

Frankly, I think this is a "tactic" to get them through...
Say what the opposition and never-Trumpers want to hear...there's nothing to latch onto and rage against.
    They get thru the confirmation...
Then they can do anything they want, once they're in place.

To me, it all seems to easy...too nice.
And frankly, I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.

I only judge them by their past actions (which don't look too hot)...their connections (follow the money, etc) ...and what they DO once they get in.
Words are meaningless (likely more so now than even before)

AND they've expedited and stacked the deck on the confirmations...so that doesn't give the opposition time to orient and focus.
    The rush offense.

You've got to give it to them...not their agenda...but the GOP really has been playing the hardball game well.
Doesn't matter if you're wrong or right...if no one can stop you or you out maneuver them.
The Dems are on the ropes...and punch drunk.

    The GOP smells blood.
Trump is cheering them on...to get his way, of course. (doesn't mean he won't turn on his own party, if it's convenient or what he wants)
He really IS a GDI...god-damned independent.
The GOP is just the boat he happens to be using at the moment to get to where he wants. (he may change vehicles...and the GOP actually knows this...as they are using him too)

Betting website gives Trump 4-1 odds of being impeached within six months

Nah, it will take at least a year.

One - the GOP has its dupe...so they'll work to resist. Clinton had the Dems on his side, resisting, even when the GOP was out for blood.
Two - stuff in government takes time...lots of time. (look how long it took them to act on the Russians...or going into Afghanistan after 9/11...etc)

Although, I'd say it won't happen until the GOP see there's going to be a backlash...and throws him under the bus for the next election.

That or they find some SERIOUS stuff on Russia, then McCain & Graham and the rest of the chickenhawks wrap the flag around themselves and patriot him out.

The thing is, the GOP has their dupe, but they could also get things done with Pence and avoid certain international complications.

It could happen quickly and decisively.

If only it could happen quickly . The only modern law-breaking-president was Richard Nixon. It took two years from the time of the discovery of the Watergate break-in until his resignation. It was an excruciating 2 years. Nixon did not want to resign and it seems unlikely that Trump will either. Just the same, the Republicans would be left with Pence as prez with Speaker Paul Ryan as Veep. I don't see why they would stand by Trump when those two would fit the bill.

I don't think Paul Ryan automatically becomes the VP. The line of succession only applies to the President.

I am pretty sure that the President, in this case Pence, can choose whomever he wants. He or she (let's face it, Pence would choose a he) would have to be confirmed by Congress and the Senate.

Whoops yes, Orrin Hatch president pro tempore of the Senate, is next in line of succession. Heaven help us. We are so screwed.

Paul Ryan would be President if Trump and Pence were both removed from office, Hatch after him.

The VP role isn't filled automatically if the VP becomes President (eg if Trump is gone and Pence becomes President, Ryan doesn't automatically become VP). Only the President appoints the VP.

    The line of succession is:
1 Vice President -- Mike Pence
2 Speaker of the House of Representatives -- Paul Ryan
3 President pro tempore of the US Senate -- Orrin Hatch
4 Secretary of State -- Rex Tillerson
    5-----> various members of Cabinet
