Not only is the Trump administration slowly tearing apart many departments and agencies
And they dismissed all the plans that were made for any pandemic
They're also letting all the terrorist and post 9-11 setups go to pot.

A top terrorism fighter’s dire warning

Well, this throws out traditionally conservative venues, created by Cheney and GWB.
But T isn't a traditional conservative...they've thrown out that book. (which is why the Reagan Republicans are in a tizzy)
He's more supported by extremists, radicals and anti-government groups.
So anti, they're destroying the system unless it supports their power and influence.

    This surprises nearly no one.

But if I were the Democrats, or had the $$$ to mount a major anti-Shyster campaign, I'd hammer him with his pardons, commuted sentences, etc.

After Ford & Nixon, I thought some limitations would been placed on presidential pardons.

It doesn't help that Stone is such a smug prick who relishes his status as a supreme (Republican) fixer.

Trump's New Ad Is Amazing - The Bulwark

Most people can’t keep up with the smoke & mirrors

It’s not that the shit hit the fan
It’s that they are shoving dump truck loads into it
And made the fan into a jet engine
There’s so much deception going on

    They’re seeing what sticks
Not even caring about any lies anymore

The details don't matter much. It is the narrative that if conservatives like their lifestyles, they have no other choice but to vote Republican. Even if the only reason is that they don't want the liberals to be happy or get anything done.

‘Make America Normal Again’: Trump backers plead for a virus plan

It's not going to happen, it's not his nature.
He's elemental, focused only on marketing and hype. (and making money)
planning??? Only IF he got a competent lead who doesn't have an agenda, only to focus on the virus issues.

But he doesn't have the patience, tolerance or ego to allow this over time.
He gets involved, it crumbles, the lead is fired. (there's a big pattern)

The GOP has placed their faith in the wrong person.
And it will cost them...and the damage will continue on the nation from the virus.

I gave the article a quick scan; I'll need to give it a more thorough read later.

What would happen if a politician knew how to appeal to Trump's base, and managed to create another Perfect Storm of Discontent, but was much more palatable (smarter, much more clever) than Trump? Turning those voters against such a candidate would be extremely difficult.

This is what I was worried the most about after the 2016 election. That the far right movement is going to be able to unify and organize. That the business owner class and their kids will become the most powerful group of people and get to make all the rules and control all of the ways to make money. They haven't been nearly as effective as I feared, but they are trying.

And I worry that the right wing political leaders like being in the opposition position a lot more than actually leading.

It is the "tough-guys" and internet trolls that I worry about. And lots and lots of them like to think that they would be able to use guns to wipe out their opposition if murder wasn't a crime in their dystopian world.
