    Now THIS is interesting...
I wonder if this will help her gain more momentum

She’s gaining because Buttigieg is losing quite a bit

It may put her above Bernie again
    But not enough vs Biden

    Unless Biden REALLY goofs
It’s his to lose right now

    2nd isn’t a bad place to be
And I think she’s learning her lesson on overreaching and overpromising

It was a safe political move for him to make. If he had come out for Bernie or Biden he was taking a risk of not having a job in their administration if the other one got the nomination.

I do wonder who Warren supporters second choice is if it comes down to having to switch and choose Biden or Bernie at the convention?

I don't think most Warren supporters will go to Biden.
She is far closer to Bernie than she will ever be to Biden, politically.

With the Senate impeachment possibly happening before the Iowa Caucuses now, some people are saying the Senators should fly together to either save money or reduce emissions. The conservative media is calling them hypocrites too (mainly because they don't want them to win Iowa or for them not to be in the Senate for the impeachment)

However, could you imagine the conspiracy theories and problems that would be caused if all 5 Democratic senators were in a plane crash? You would be left with Biden, Bloomberg, Buttigieg, Delaney, Gabbard, Patrick, Steyer, and Yang... The Internet and Democratic voters would be trying to put the blame on the DNC establishment, the other candidates left in the race, the ultra rich who don't want to be taxed, Trump/Russia because he doesn't want to face them in November, and the GOP who is afraid of losing the senate in November.

The even scarier thing to think about is that I don't think Trump would lose any support if he used a drone to strike the plane, and I'm not even sure the Senate would be able to come up with enough votes to remove him.

Opinion | Winners and Losers of the Democratic Debate

The reviews from the NYT...as I'm sure there are a thousand other reviews. with their own perspective and winners. (it is a horse race...everyone is making opinions on their bets)

Warren was able to light a flame again with the (true/untrue?) comment on women winning the presidency. (got a good line from it too)
Biden...basically said nothing important...but didn't say anything stupid. (is this what they want?? someone who's uninspiring but just is stable and "hopefully" doesn't gaffe)

The winners, losers and biggest takeaways from the Iowa debate

And there's a nice clip within of the "non-handshake" tension between Warren and Sanders (just to add to the saga)

I'll let ya read about all the others...that's just the thought that came to my mind.

NYT Editorial Board - Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren Are Democrats’ Top Choices for President

The New York Times breaks with tradition and recommends 2 different candidates.
    Both ladies for the win.

It also gives a interesting perspective of the others
And why they did not pick them.

Definitely a boost for them both.

Warren is higher on the polls, to leverage more....especially to put her potentially above Sanders.
Don't know how much this would help Klobuchar...she's not got as much momentum.

What are the reasons why they didn't pick the others? I refuse to give them any clicks on this because I feel it wasn't their place to endorse anyone in the primaries. Not that I have any problems with Warren or Klobuchar. They really should have endorsed every Democrat if they wanted to be fair and unbiased. But it would also show that there are good parts to every candidate, however, there isn't a perfect candidate.

What if the ignorant, the misguided, the disenfranchised, the contrarians, and the stupid yet again create a Perfect Storm that re-elects Trump?

His being elected was bad enough. Although it did show that our democracy works, sometimes with very bad results. His re-election would show the USA to be a nation of idiots.

At this point I'll be happy with the candidate with best chance to defeat Trump.

I don't think this map would be outside of the realm of possibilities. There aren't many that will lead to his re-election, but there are enough voters out there that are going to vote for him no matter what, that we don't know what will happen. I just hope it isn't 3am on the East Coast and we don't know who won Florida, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, and then we are waiting for Arizona to determine it all. Heaven help us if Maine goes all blue and there is a tie. It should be who won the popular vote total if there is a tie, but I don't think that is the case. I think they send it to the house and whichever party has more members in the house gets 1 vote. And I believe he would win re-election about 30-20 with the smaller states being more powerful than the big states again.

Although after the conduct of the GOP and the problems that haven't been fixed, or made worse, I would hope that the people would vote for the outcome that looks like this:

It would take a few 10-20 million people who didn't vote last time to come out and vote for the Democrat. But this is what the conservatives fear and why they should up to vote. They are aging out though, with millions of young people becoming voters and older baby boomers passing away. This might not happen in 2020, but I would expect it to be more likely in 2024 and 2028 depending on who the candidates are.

Report: Trump Is Melting Down Over Bloomberg Ads About His Weight — Vanity Fair

Well, that wins my vote right there.
Whatever upsets the FAT FUCK the most.

    * actually, I don’t mine overweight people, I’m one myself...it’s just whatever hurts the ego the most of this orange egomaniac.

Besides, it’s seems as if he and the GOP have already prepared their arsenal for Biden.
    (maybe Bernie)

So, let’s switch it up and surprise them.
    Bloomberg or Warren

Just to confuse them and piss them off, doncha know??

Unfortunately I think they are just complete fucking idiots.
They picked 2 progressive activists to design and execute the app.
They had about 2 months to do it.
    Not surprisingly, total failure.
At least if you go to Google or IBM, and have professionals do it, and then it fails, you have someone to blame.
Dems can only look at themselves in the mirror for this.
Are they actually going to figure out a way to lose to Trump again?

The Dems typically play Charlie Brown
If not, to the GOPs Lucy (with a football)

If anyone can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, it’s them.

I'm not sure "progressive activist" is the right way to describe the group that made the app. At least from the reporting I've seen.

But, I agree, this wasn't rocket science levels of difficulty here. They only had to count up 1700 public vote totals in a few columns on a spreadsheet. Hell, back in college, I should have created this app for my computer science class. Although the professor probably would have thought that it wasn't complicated enough.

But forget the app, why did it take them so long to count the paper results? Why did the phone system not work? Why after 24 hours+ are they only at 62%? Elections have been going on for decades in Iowa, some even before telephones. I bet the results came in faster.

All I know is that Iowa better not be the 1st state to hold a caucus/primary in 2024. And the DNC needs to stop tampering in the primary. We shouldn't need to have international UN monitors overseeing the Democratic primaries, but at this point I don't know of any way that this is going to end up working out OK. We kind of know that nobody is going to be coming into the convention with 50.1% of the delegates, so that means it will be a contested convention and I worry that the losing supporters are going to be upset. Especially if it is found out that the DNC is manipulating the media narrative on purpose.

But it also wasn't the only problem in Iowa.

I suspect there’s a bit of DNC manipulation going on
They’re not saints, though in comparison to the GOP, they may be by default.

I’d say they were surprised by Sanders gains
He’s “still” not formally a Democrat
(and I don’t know WHY he doesn’t considering this is the 2nd time he’s gone under their umbrella
The 1st maybe was an excuse and still hurt him)
They’re NOT going to allow an independent win.
    He should know this

And they’re surprised Biden did so poor
(I’m not, he’s been hang gliding it...Iowa people want those that work for their vote, stump the grounds)
    He should also know this
And he’s making worse presumptions than Hillary did.
    Doesn’t bode well.

Pete B speaks well, has worked it
    National polls are irrelevant here

Warren did well enough, she’ll gain greater percentage in the next one in NH, maybe even a win and some momentum into Nevada...but I doubt do well there.

SC will likely be Bidens advantage, since he’s most conservative/establishment/center

    Super Tuesday is coming quick
They’ll likely follow the frontrunners and their own regional biases.

Maryland is up for grabs...a crapshoot
But I’ve actually seen Warren really gunning it around here
And she’s well spoken of in relative terms
As has Sanders...Biden and the others, nada
But Biden has got leverage due to Delaware proximity
However, that’s way down far the line.
