    Very cool.
    It sounds like your adventure was in relatively populated areas.
    I have found that Apple Maps has some serious blind spots in rural northern NY.
    I sometimes am driving south from Potsdam (near the Canadian border) to get back to our home.
    It takes about 3.5 hours and there are a variety of routes that come in around that time but they all involve very rural areas.
    If I ask Apple Maps for the best route it always comes up with something that will take 5 1/2 hours.
    It either can't see the rural roads or it won't offer them as part of the route.
    Google seems to be superior at least in that part of the state.
