A proposal***

There are many of us here....I Imagine, that wish to see this forum evolve "as intended" into its next incarnation of splendor. This cannot happen unless we make it so, and put in the effort required to revitalize the place we inhabit. In this light, I would like to make a couple suggestions:

Post something
.....make a thread....become active again. It really makes small difference "What" the thread is, considering the large membership here someone will likely find it interesting and contribute, especially if we all decide to be active here again.

Self Moderate
.....and call a freakin' spade....a spade. The worst case here is a warning from staff if you lack the subtlety to word such a thing correctly, and a measure of respect if you word it properly....think of it as a challenge of intellect.

Show your personality
.....as there are few places in this vast world of Cyberstupidity, that can claim to have as much as the Tilted Forum Project, Hands down the be all of online communities.

Enjoy Yourself.....Seriously, all it takes is the mindset. Very few aspects of this place require a devotion to the great God of Pissyness, and when she does step in.....Use tha damn Back Button, or refer to suggestion #2.

Lets rebuild this place into what we all want......something to be proud of belonging to.

Why don't you post as "tecoyah" anymore?

Because, tecoyah has outlived the purpose intended for its function. The persona "tecoyah" was many things, some good and some not so .....the main reason for this change is my own change, and a wish to be disassociated with the perceptions the name carries with it.

Think of it as a form of evolution in a way....or leaving the cocoon behind.

Are you f'ing serious? Chimera and Tec are the same person!?

In my opinion, that's exactly the kind of stuff we need to avoid.

As amusing as this sad little cabaret might be, I have to say that it's very hard to take you seriously, Chimyah. You're still the same person and I haven't seen much change in the method or content of your contributions here.

Well at least you're all addressing what he has to say...

And what's with all the pessimism lately?

Pessimism? I wouldn't have used that word. I was just being honest and forthright with my thoughts. But I can't speak for everybody.

Sooner or later, we all die.

How's that for pessism, SC?

Seriously, I think that the totality of the 4 companion threads that are active right now boil down to:

1) Be polite even when you think someone's an idiot.
2) Post more.
3) Figure out how to attract people interested in intelligent, mature conversation but have a sense of humor.

You may recommence the regularly scheduled flogging of the deceased equine.

So, Chimera, your proposal in a nutshell:

1) Don't be a dick.
1a) Treat others as you expect to be treated. If you treat someone with no respect, don't expect respect in return.
2) Enjoy yourself.

Seems pretty obvious to me.

Point taken.....it was not my intent to add a negative to TFP

Also a valid point, and completely accurate, My apologies.

So, wait a minute... Chimera is tecoyah? How did he manage that?

Chimera, did you sign up as a new user? Or did one of the administrators change your name for you?

You contact a mod for permission to do it so you're not double-dipping, so to speak and tah-dah! new nick....there's been no secret about this.

yeah, i missed tec for a while on the boards, so if he's back as chimera then so be it. don't pull out now chimera (although it does feel mighty fucked up addressing you as such). even if supple doesn't take you seriously - well, there's only one way to prove her wrong. and that's not to worry about it one way or the other. just do your thing. etc.

I didn't mean to make it seem as if I was speaking about you. That statement was directed elseware.

I know a great deal about your tendency of being honest and forthright.

For the record, I wasn't saying Tec should go run off and hide like he is wont to do. I happen to like Tec. I was saying that the drama is best left off the boards and back in high schools where that shit belongs.
