Two cents: I've said it before and I'll probably say it again:
"It's just us here, people!" I was all ready to agree with the OP whole-heartedly, but the rest of Us have caused me pause. I find affirmative action disturbing since we can only go from where we are, and since it creates new victims. Celebrating one's culture must be applauded until it leads to a belief in inherent superiority. The St. Patrick's Day parade in St. Paul drew 100,000 people on Saturday. Cinco de Mayo provides a good time every year. Diversity is all we have, but it's still just us here, isn't it?
