Records for anything?

People never seem to amaze me. Either that or I'm easily amazed...

Anyway, I stumbled across this article and it made me wonder, are there really records for anything?

For those that don't want to read the article, it's about how a girl organized an event to win the hugging record.

There was a story next to it about a woman who gave 500 haircuts in 12 hours.

This made me wonder about other records people hold or are trying or trying to obtain. Are they merely safe records or do people hold records for risque things? I suppose everyone needs a goal...

Something just seems wrong about a hug record to me. In my opinion, a hug is something that should be genuine, used to comfort, show feeling, or brighten someone's day. I love the Free Hugs Campain and ideas like that, but hugging just to set a record erks me.

As for other records, the longest nipple hair record is destined to curse me till the day I die. Every time I notice one that seems especially long, I have to resist the urge to measure it. Grrr.

Malaysia is a bit nuts for setting records. They have someone setting a record for something on almost a weekly basis. I will see if I can get you some of the weird ones.

My son keeps pointing out to me that canadians hold the record for longest nipple hairs and longest pubic hairs. It must be the cold.

I just don't understand why someone would be proud of some of the things they hold records for. I mean, the longest nipple or pubic hair? Yuck.
