| Kick Ass Kunoichi Location: Oregon | I was able to eat a ton of latkas last week after one of my charge's mothers made a bunch for the kindergarten class. Yum yum. This was my first year taking part in celebrations for Chanukah. The kids and I played a lot of dreidel with some Belgian chocolate gelt. I gotta say, I like any holiday with a focus on food, family, and games. Happy Chanukah, everyone!

| Delusional... but in a funny way Location: deeee-TROIT!!! | I got to celebrate Hanukkah once with my ex and his family. I think we ended up having 9 or 10 days, though. His grandpa was a bit senile and just wouldn't stop lighting candles. And, of course, the food was AMAZING. Happy Hanukkah!

| Junkie Location: LI,NY | mmmmmm latkes. I will have to try to make them next year. This year I read to the kids about Chanukah and then we lit the menorah. Both of them were fascinated by it. I decided from now on I will teach them about both Chanukah and Christmas. Happy Chanukah everyone!

Oh, those are some great looking latkes! I was also fortunate enough to eat many over the last few days ...seems like many is never enough. My Jewish father-in-law made these latest ones and they were also excellent. But I learned how to make great ones from my mom, so these are a Hungarian Catholic version ...I modified an old family recipe for krumpli palacinta ...potato crepes, which allows me to make them thicker and smaller rather than a large thin crepe. | |

| People in masks cannot be trusted Location: NYC | I make them year round, they are very easy to make. And if you want to be lazy sometimes you can use a blender or food processor just do not liquify them. Basically 5 potatoes, 1 egg, 1 onion, salt, black pepper. Some people put in a drop of flour to keep it together, but that is more of an old Hungarian thing, when they had a lot of flour and less potatoes so they added it to make it more filling. Still a tad of flour if you use like 2 eggs for 8 potatoes help keep the latka together (I almost never use flour). Personally I fry it in 2 different fryers, one with a larger flame then the other. Put it in the one with the larger flame, flip in to the one with the smaller, so it is crispy but not burnt. |
