I dunno, I'd kill for some of those moves, haha.

You know the interesting thing between that video and the television of today? If Soul Train was on today, it would be re-formated to be a reality competition where the best dancers were eliminated through a series of challenges and trials. Whereas, these guys and girls were just dancing -- they liked the music and they were on TV. I enjoyed the simplicity to that.

Then again, I can say all this having just watched a clip for a couple minutes -- you had a whole decade of it! I defer to your judgement, haha.

I totally remember that growing up in north jersey. was one of my fav shows in the 70's. then you had Dance Fever with Danny Theriault after....the 70's were both awesome and terrible. Thanks for the clip and a trip down memory lane.

I remember that so well I'd be surprised if it's not still on TV!

Being from Philly, it was all downhill after Bandstand.

^ fortunately, I grew up before that...to the extent that I grew up. Now I'm growing out, though not so much physically as in other ways.

I'd just die for those red and white plaid pants! I had orange and green plaid pants with a 2" cuff and 6" platform shoes and lapels out to my shoulders.
Oh yea... we were so cool! (What were we thinking? LOL)

There were up to four dance shows when Soul Train was in its heyday. Dance Fever, ST, American Bandstand, and one other whose name escapes me at the moment. ST was the coolest.

From the early to mid 1960's another good pop music dance show was The Llyod Thaxton Show.

What? no love for The Arthur Murray Party TV show?
