New England?
 

What exactly / where exactly is New England. Is it just considered North Eastern US, if so where's the line drawn. This is what i always thought, but my girlfriend was under the impression it was an actual place somewhere in NorthEastern US, though she was unsure of where.

P.s. - we both did graduate college and aren't complete idiots.

Aye what wildbjammin said. The states in New England were among the first states established, hence the name New England.

While we're on the subject, where the heck is Carolina? I can find North Carolina, and South Carolina, but no Carolina.

the Pats field is in Foxboro, Mass. and yes, New England is great. Lived in New Hampster(Hampshire) for almost all of my life, and as my location says, I go to school in RI.

Indeed...New England rocks! I live and go to school in Massachusetts. The winters can get rough sometimes..but the autumn makes up for the shitty weather other times of year

Carolina is both North and South Carolina.

Everyone seems good at sharing sports teams.

Just wait until one of the teams starts losing. Then no one will want to lay claim to them.

pretty much all the northeast to the north and east of New York State is considered New England.

Oh... yeah, I see what you mean. A cool thing about New England is that the teams have been around there so long that they have a tradition to rely on so that a few bad years isn't that big of a deal. I've always wanted to go to a Red Sox game or to a Celtics game in the old building just to experience that feeling of tradition.

… like the football Cardinals. Chicago had them until 1960, St. Louis got stuck with them until 1987, then Phoenix until 1994 when the whole state of Arizona was saddled with the blame for them.
