Anyone seen my company's Yasmin commercial?
My company has been airing a commercial for their Yasmin oral contraceptive for the last week or so in certain markets across the country.
Basically it's a young woman on various dates with all but the last one being a big loser. After the last one it says something along the lines of "when you find the right one..." It's been on some major shows in the following markets: Atlanta Chicago Cleveland Dallas Houston Indianapolis Kansas City Louisville Miami New Orleans New York Oklahoma City Orlando Philly Phoenix Raleigh Salt Lake City Tampa Washington West Palm Beach Some of the Primetime shows it was on (not on every one of these shows in ever market): That 70's Show The Simpsons Gilmore Girls Smallville Reba Bachelor Season Premiere 7th Heaven America's Top Model HS Reunion Everwood Friends American Idol The Apprentice Forever Eden One Tree Hill The OC While I am not directed involved in this area of the company I am curious about how it comes across and if it's memorable. I would love to hear any comments (positive or negative about it) if you've seen it.

I've seen part of it, not bad. Its memorable to me because my fiance' is on the lookout for a new contraceptive, something I'm all for because I am really tired of condoms. If I wasn't drawn to it for that reason I doubt I would have watched it but I make television commercials (local) for a living and sometimes I ignore them to keep my sanity. Most people would probably watch.

It was just on, so I headed over to the computer to post.
My contraceptive needs are completely taken care of at this point, so if I didn't have this thread to cue me about it, I doubt I'd have taken much notice, frankly. Seemed like a perfectly fine commercial, just for a product I don't have any real interest in. Raleigh/Durham market, during the afternoon rerun of Friends on the WB affiliate. |

Thanks for the responses. My opinion was that it wasn't particularly attention grabbing. I find that when commercials come on people do one of two things, change the channel or switch their focus to something else. So, my belief is that there needs to be an audio or visual cue that grabs someones attention. Whether that is a popular song, unique sound, or a quick flash of color or light.
StephenSa, I feel your pain about the condoms. Of course no oral contraceptive will protect you from the spread of disease. In a monogamous relationship I agree with your thinking, but if either participant may be straying, it's a crap shoot without the condom. (sorry for the semi-lecture just something that resonates with me since some friends have come out on the losing side of such relationships and left with parting "gifts")
