Waitlisted-College Admissions Game
 

Anyone have experience getting off of a waitlist? How can I improve my chances? I've already sent another recommendation, and will be sending an essay soon.
I think that's all I can do.
Oh, I interviewed too. Seemed to go well.

What school are you on the wait list for?

In my experience with being wait-listed (for Texas A&M) is that you are stuck with what you have turned at the deadline like everyone else did. So you can't improve your chances unless you get your final grades up (if they still review those for the wait list).

Send updated grades and a short to-the-point letter explaining why you feel you're a good match for the school. It doesn't hurt to assure them that you will attend if accepted (only say this if it's true).

Another letter of rec could only help.

It's a bit late now, but extra-curricular activites in sports, arts and participation in student government and activity groups
