4th of July plans

For us US citizens, a time for a big celebration. A 3 day weekend!!! Smack dab in the middle of the summer. Usually there are parades, fireworks, cookouts and all kinds of parties. So, what are you doing this 4th of July to celebrate our Independence?

For starters:
Cookout with friends on Sat. night.
On Sunday going to Wrigely Field with my son to see the final game of the Chicago White Sox vs. the Chicago Cubs.
Continually thank our armed forces for the job they have done and continue to do.

I really don't have anything planned. I may buy a flag this weekend that we can hang from the balcony, but Traff works all weekend so I won't have any plans. I can always watch celebrations on tv, though!

BBQ get together at our new house. Plus, our town's fireworks display is very close to our home. Hopefully my son doesn't get scared. It's his first 4th.

Been invited to 5 different parties in 2 days. It's a little hard to attend all, I think we'll be hitting one on each day. Generally celebrating our country's birthday.

I am actually going to Nags Head ( Outer Banks) North Carolina for the fourth. I am very excited about this because it has been at least 8 years since I have been to the beach. I'm leaving early in the morning ( Sat. morning) and returning the following Sat. I have needed a vacation like this for a while now. Hopefully I will be able to find a nice little cutie there to spend the week with:)

Making 2 trips to the airport and one to the train station to pick up out of town wedding guest.

I'm doing a family cookout/trying to keep my dad and older cousins from blowing up my dock with insane incendiary devices.

Working, ah what better way to celebrate freedom then working!

wonderwench 07-02-2004 09:35 AM

BBQing ribs for a few friends on the fourth. We can see the fireworks in The City, Marin and the Berkeley Marina from our front porch and windows - so we'll kick back and enjoy.

Today, my family and I are leaving for Sacramento to see a couple relatives we haven't seen in a couple years. We're coming home Sunday afternoon/evening.

Camping tonight, offroading tomorrow, BBQ and watch the fireworks at Nottingham Lake [still think it's the best fireworks display in Colorado] with my family (used to be a family tradition when we were growing up). Then, camping, and up early and back to town to watch the Euro Cup 2004 Finals and then proceed to get hammered and decide whether I want to rest or spend the night shooting bottle rockets out of empty beer bottles in the middle of the street, and running down alleyways trying to keep one step ahead of the police. Silly anti-explosive-fireworks ban.

KellyC 07-02-2004 12:12 PM

Well, the plan is to watch Spider Man 2 on Friday, after that, go hang out and drink Bubble Tea, then after that go have a "midnight picnic" at the beach near the University, watching the nightlife of Seattle, drinkin' some booze maybe go swimming too...all in the dark :D
On Saturday, BBQ, make Teriyaki and Sushi
On Sunday go watch fireworks go to the beach, try to combine Friday and Saturday's activity..

bernadette 07-02-2004 02:10 PM

Jet Skis followed by BBQ followed by drinking. I would have fireworks but they don't mix well with alcohol.

DirtyVegas 07-03-2004 02:30 AM

We got the Vans Warp Tour in the park across the street, so were gonna bar-b-que/pool party at my house in the afternoon, while mingling back n forth to the concert. Vegas heat kills!

qtpye4u84 07-03-2004 02:38 AM

Bought some out lawed fireworks, from a different state, going to BBQ some Rib eye and some T-bone steak.
I might even make some bombs out of the screaming firework thing.
