Strange Quirks or Talents You May Have

Do you guys have any strange talents or odd quirks that you'd like to share? It always strikes me as funny when I discover that someone I have known for a while has a really odd talent/quirk.

Personally....

I can say "Who's Your Daddy?" In quite a few different languages including
  • English
  • Spanish
  • Japenese
  • Bosnian
  • French
  • German
  • Hmong
  • Chinese
  • Sign Language

Bring on the talents!

ShaniFaye 08-04-2004 08:19 AM

I have no "normal" talents....all of mine are sexual in nature

Where is the Hmong language from?

Polyphobic 08-04-2004 08:21 AM

I can count to 10 in
English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, and Japanese.

maleficent 08-04-2004 08:26 AM

I can juggle
I can make balloon animals
(No, I never wanted to be a clown)
I can find humor in any situation...

The other "talents", well -- I don't talk about such things.... :D (I am shy)

omega2K4 08-04-2004 08:26 AM

"The Hmong language is one of a group of closely related languages of Southeast Asia and Southern China often referred to as the Miao-Yao languages. Besides being spoken by Hmong people in Laos, Thailand, Burma, and Vietnam, the Hmong language is widely spoken by the Miao minority in Southern China."

I don't really have any strange quirks or talents.

08-04-2004 08:34 AM

I can shuffle and cut a deck of cards in one hand.

Cynthetiq 08-04-2004 08:39 AM

burp loud enough over NYC traffic.

burp alphabet from A-Z

roachboy 08-04-2004 08:41 AM

i can clap loudly with one hand.

Cadwiz 08-04-2004 09:04 AM

I have the super power of extending my shoulder blades out from my back (almost looks like short wings). My daughter also seems to have this strange power/abnormality also. It doesn't feel like it is a double jointed kind of thing, but I could be wrong. I've never met anyone else that can even begin to do this.

Karby 08-04-2004 09:09 AM

i can lick my elbow.

Bentley Little 08-04-2004 09:12 AM

I can blow spit bubbles like soap bubbles...many times in a row....ewww.

Stupid Human Tricks anyone?

Carno 08-04-2004 09:23 AM

Cadwiz - my brother can do that, but no one else in my family...

I have no strange talents...

bookerV 08-04-2004 09:51 AM

Not really a talent just sort of an odd quick.

I am sort of ambidextrous. I write with my left hand, but I throw with my right. I fight right, bat right, swing right. It's like I'm 90% right handed, but I write with my left hand and do a couple of other things lefty. For the most part I try and use both of my hands as much as possible...

I can hear when a television screen changes from a bright scene to a dark scene, and vice versa. I can also hear that a computer monitor in the house is on from a couple of rooms away.

ELBOW -- Damn when I read it - -I thought it said he could lick his eyebrow - -and was like -- wow -- those lucky girls in his life...

unoaman 08-04-2004 10:20 AM

Learned to juggle in college, at least mom and dad didn't completely waste their money!

Anitra says I can be more hard headed than any man alive, is that a talent, or a curse?

roofles 08-04-2004 10:23 AM

My fingers are double jointed so that i can point the tips back parralel to my forearm with no pain. I can dislocate my shoulder on cue. I'm not sure if the last bit is a 'talent' since the orthopaedic specialist calls it "multi directional shoulder instability." Basically, my ligaments are there only for symbolic purposes since they do little to pull the joint together and keep it tight.

I used to live in Eureka, CA. Thats way up north about 70mi from the oregon border for those unfamilar. There was a significant population of Hmong people there.

That particulary group was involved with the CIA during the Vietnam war, and in order to save them from persecution for cooperation with the CIA they were mass relocated to northern california.

JStrider 08-04-2004 11:31 AM

i can blow spit bubbles...

I can lick my elbow ... just barely... but i can do it...

i can hear a tv change from dark to light...

but nothing that will get me far in life...

Kalnaur 08-04-2004 11:50 AM

Talents

The base joint of my left thumb is jointed in such a way as to allow me to place all five of the fingers of my left hand flat on a surface. My brother has this same ability, only his right hand is the one that possesses it. We like to sicken people by bending our thumbs back, and then making a high-five motion while mockingly saying "Shazzam!" (Anyone who has never seen the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, just keep scrollin' ;))

I can pick things up with my toes, wave with them, and otherwise grip things with my toes as if they were fingers.

If I place my feet flat against the floor, I can wiggle my toes in such a way as to make a distressingly loud popping sound, as if all my toes accept my big toes are double jointed.

Quirks

I have the odd habbit of whistling obscure video game tunes at the most inopportune times, i.e. whenever I am with someone and we are in public. Also, when I am playing card or board games.

My dream woman would not only be of normal size with dark hair and beautiful blue eyes but have large, leathery wings and fangs as well. (At least I have three out of five, currently :D)

I like the taste of both pennies and blood. (come to think of it, most metalic tastes are nice ones.)

I think that's it for now.

I can do that, I can burp the alpahbet, I can disloacte both hips and both shoulders.

Here's my unique one: I can drink a can of soda through my nose. Without a funnel.

...oh, wait...i don't think i've ever mentioned that before...oh well :o
hmph! i wish i could lick my eyebrow...that would kick ass.

Charlatan 08-04-2004 12:04 PM

I can shake my eyes... it looks like they are vibrating in their sockets. Freaks out my wife... when my son found this out he promptly went about learning to do it too... That's my boy!

TheDave87 08-04-2004 12:23 PM

Im mostly ambidextrous, i can do everything but write with my left hand, i can dislocate my thumbs, crack every knuckle on my hands, the last joints on all of my fingers are double jointed, i also can vibrate my eyes, i can sleep with my eyes open, i can do many hand-like things with my feet, wiggle my nose, and i can make rude noises with my ear... like JStrider said, nothing to get me too far in life

Trisk 08-04-2004 12:29 PM

I'm not special :(
I don't think I have any strange talents.

Do we even want to know how you discovered you were able to do this? :D

My other talent? I can infuriate my mother, mostly by just breathing... it's taken me years to get there, but now I'm really good at it :D

la petite moi 08-04-2004 12:32 PM

I can speak French although I live in a hicktown.
I can wiggle both ears, one at a time.
I can flare my nostrils.
I can stand on my head for long period of time.

Trisk 08-04-2004 12:46 PM

Oh wait...I just realized...I'm not as un-special as I thought...I can raise one eyebrow (for both sides of my face) and I can put my big toe over the other toe next to it (without moving it with my hand).

skier 08-04-2004 12:57 PM

I can curl my tongue, make a bowl shape, clover shape, and touch my nose with it.

Ummm yeah that's pretty much it. Other than my tongue, the rest of me is boringly normal.

KellyC 08-04-2004 02:43 PM

I can wiggle my ear
I can say "hello" "goodbye" in.

-English
-Vietnamese
-Chinese -- Cantonese and Mandarin
-Japanese
-German
-Spanish
-French
-Russian
-Korean

I memorized about half of the chinese songs in my music library w/o understanding a single word
A bunch of Japanese and koreans too, don't understand jack squat either.

Oh yeah...my friends said I have a super smart mouth. :D

World's King 08-04-2004 02:50 PM

I can...

Juggle
Bend my fingers back really far (you'd have to see it)
Make just about any cocktail you can think of
Breakdance
Swing
Lindy Hop
Tap Dance
Salsa

Fremen 08-04-2004 03:41 PM

I can whistle and make it sound like a train.
I can do the Spock eyebrow raise with either 'brow.
I can sleep just about anywhere, anytime. ;)

I saw it on the internet and tried it. How else do you learn these things?

Reading on has reminded me of a few more. Shaking my eyes so they look loike they're vibtrating, wiggling ears, and moving my little toe on each foot separately from the others. I can also do the Vulcan hand sign.

maleficent 08-04-2004 05:30 PM

Cool - the Vulcan hand sign is a special trick? I can do it with both hands..

And I can whistle for a cab too (which I've learned that it's not appropriate to do that in Chicago... :) Only NY....

Stare At The Sun 08-04-2004 05:38 PM

I can dislocate both shoulder blades about 2 and a half inches out of my back.

I can dislocate my shoulders.

And thats about it.

Xell101 08-04-2004 05:59 PM

I can:
- Move each of my toes independent of the other (very limited
movement though)
- Wiggle my ears, scalp, and right eyebrow in a suffeciently
coordinated fashion as to make a little show
- blow air out my eye
- Simultaneously make 6, 7, and 9, in the air with limbs
- Geuss your weight freakishly well
- Remain calm in near anything
- Shift my weight really fast and well
- Kick myself in the chin in under 1.3 seconds (6' 1")
- 'Vibrate' my eyes
- Crank out 63 small burps a minute
- Produce 17 good burps a minute
- Burp all manner of verbal items
- Acoustics are used like 20/400 eyes in the back of my head
- Push buttons abnormally fast, I mean fast

and that is all I can, off the top of my head, remind myself of by twitching, wiggling, and generally tinkering with my body in my chair.

KMA-628 08-04-2004 06:31 PM

If I close my mouth and hold my nose and blow....

my eyes whistle.

Freaks people out every time.

It helped a lot when I used to free dive in CA. The pressure changes came out my eyes.

You know what you are tasting when you put pennies in your mouth, right?????

You're not only tasting the metal, you're tasting the years and years of grime and germs and dirt that have accumulated on the penny. Think how many hands touched that penny, and how many times it has been on the ground and in the dirt, etc..

You're putting all of that in your mouth. Gross.
