Long Distance Dedication
Hi, this is Casey Kasem with another long distance dedication...........
I thought it would be fun for TFPers to send their long distance dedications through this forum. Write the dedication in the form of a letter addressed to Hal. Tell Hal who you want to dedicate the song to and why. It can be a close friend, an enemy, someone living, someone dead, or maybe someone you never had the chance to meet. I'll go first. (note to mods....This is more about the dedication than about the song. That is why I put the thread in general discussion and not in music.) Dear Halx, Several weeks ago I read a part of your journal about your aspirations to move to New York City. I was curious of the motivation for such a change. Last week your thread made the news official. To alter your life so drastically by venturing to the other side of the country requires the stamina of a visionary and a huge amount of courage, independence and desire for adventure. Your move also indicates a need to leave part of the past behind. With these thoughts in mind, I dedicate to you Time of Your Life by Green Day, in the hope that you find what you are looking for....

Dear Halx,
I'd like to dedicate this song to my soon-to-be expat bruddahs who finally gave The Man the slip and made it to paradise. Wish I was back there with yall again. I dedicate Let Me Out by the Future Leaders of the World, in honor of your victory in the battle to find something better. |

Dear HalX,
My parents live in Florida between Pensacola and Ft. Walton on a little island called Navarre Beach. This past September, they were nearly devastated by Hurricane Ivan. Although they fared better than a lot of other people, they still lost their car and the entire bottom floor to their house. A lot of family memorabilia was washed away, including the simple things like their Christmas decorations. They moved back onto the island into their half-house when electricity was restored, and they managed several weeks there without phone or running water. Now that their phone and water service has been restored along with the electricity, they are trying to rebuild their home and get on with their lives during this Christmas season. They are both over 70, and I would like to dedicate Silent Night to my folks this Christmas season, because they deserve some peace and quiet.

Dear Halx,
Tomorrow (December 9th) is the birthday of one of the most wonderful women I have never met. I would truly give anything to have her as a "real life" friend. She is hardly ever at home, she lives in airports, hotels and taxis, yet she always has time to be with us, comfort us when we are sad, or throwing temper tantrums, comiserate with us when it comes to man issues, be happy for us when we are actually having a good day, give us recepies for every kind of occasion, In my case, took the time to talk to me and made a point to mail me a card for every day Dave was gone to Germany. This woman is someone who by nature doesnt like attention but you can find her contributing to almost every thread on the board. I truly doubt she will ever really understand what she means to not only me, but to A LOT of people on this board. Her sense of humor, her admittance of the "stupid" (her words) things she does, her caring of people all around her, whether she knows them or not makes her one of the most special people I have ever encountered in my life. More times than not, I will encounter a situation and wonder what she would say or do or how she would react. So to celebrate this most monumental birthdy of one killer lady..... I would like to dedicate Send Me an Angel by Real Life OR Top of the World by the Carpenters to our one and only Maleficent
