I guess I'll try paydirect again, I think hal wasn't checking it last time since it says transaction cancelled.

spastar 12-24-2003 03:42 AM

do I have to send U.S $ or can I send Can. $?

losthellhound 12-26-2003 08:05 AM

The Hound donates - The cheque will be there in a couple of days Halx and company.

Thanks again for all your hard work

d4in 12-29-2003 11:16 AM

Been about a week since the donation, how long till the donor tag? Been looking forward to it.

teshadoh 01-13-2004 10:49 AM

I just donated!

BigBlueWrecking 01-13-2004 11:45 AM

I just tried to do it through Yahoo Direct. I must admit I like Paypal better, but understand you guys did not have a choice in the matter. If for some reason you do not see the donation soon, please IM me so I can make sure to fix whatever it was that did not work. I am pretty sure it worked though.....thanks again for all of the hard work you guys do.

aphex140 01-15-2004 06:08 AM

Keep trying through paypal. any tips as it keeps asking for a email address to send the money to.

aphex140 01-16-2004 02:12 AM

trying to activate a Yahoo account but let me fill in all the info, but when I try to activate the account it keeps failling me as it assumes I am in the U.S.

Really pissing me of:confused:

bobart 01-17-2004 10:30 PM

I just wrote you out a check
for donation to TFP.
I sent it Snailmail as
this new fangled electric money
confuses me.
You will get it soon.

tritium 01-21-2004 09:40 PM

Just sent in a Yaho Paydirect thingy. Halx, keep an eye open for a payment from phi1317 @ yahoo.com for me. That'll me mine.

Jizzosh 01-28-2004 04:32 AM

I am officially a better person now, as I have donated for the time I have spent, and plan to spend on this website. I'm sure more donations will follow.

Now I just wish I had enough time to post here more often. Thanks by the way, to all those involved in the creation and maintenance of this excellent collection of forums, etc. You're hard work and dedication to quality is very appreciated.

Josh

Mr.Deflok 01-28-2004 10:06 PM

Snail mail for me, just gotta get some spare buckaroos and get them exchanged.

d4in 01-30-2004 02:56 PM

:) Finally got my tag.

Thanx Hal.

teshadoh 02-11-2004 05:32 PM

Those Donor tags take a while to pop up don't they?

a little bit yeah

Cycler 02-16-2004 02:30 PM

Back to the donation status. Tax returns are nice for lots of people. Keep a look out for one from Cycler powers that be, thanks.

MichaelFarker 02-18-2004 01:44 PM

I've loved this site for quite a while. I fiinally donated just now. This is my first experience with Yahoo! Pay Direct, and I hope it works. Thank you to everyone who has made this site what it is.

Strange Famous 02-22-2004 08:16 AM

As far as I can see, the Yahoo link wont let me register a UK address.

I always use bidpay to pay for auctions and stuff and it works fine for me (Wester Union/Meridian Group)

If I can make a donation by bidpay, I'll do it - so... can you accept payments via that provider?

teshadoh 02-29-2004 08:52 AM

Ok - money was withdrawn from my checking account & I received notification from Yahoo that I spent the money. And now I notice people that have donated since me (January) - what gives? Not that I'm going to cry about it but having a shiny 'Donor' tag would be swell :-)

BigBlueWrecking 02-29-2004 01:29 PM

I am in that boat too. I am not worried so much about the donor tag, I am more worried that I sent the money to the wrong person. It was not a lot of money, but I still want it to get to TFP and not someone else.

elpha 03-02-2004 10:57 PM

hey, i'm back from a long tenure, and i'd like to donate. am understanding that paypal is no longer an option?

Brian Warner 03-15-2004 06:55 PM

I gave at the office.

frankgrimes 03-21-2004 07:04 PM

like others in this thread, i donated some time ago and am not sure if the $ were recieved. i guess some donated via some newfangled electronic means, i sent a money order by conventional mail around the end of Feb. I understand the admins are too busy to email confirmations of donations recieved or anything like that, but i guess this is why everyone is so anxious to get their donor tag. hoping to see it sometime soon...?

Demon Deacon 03-22-2004 02:50 PM

With all these people getting donor tags it seems quite obvious that there would be an excess of funds since a website surely doesn't cost much to host.

Where does all the money go ?

Halx 03-22-2004 05:03 PM

I've collected about $65 this month so far... colo hosting for 2 servers, one is 4U and custom... $400/mo
This does not include other fees which are yearly and one-time

have any more questions about things that are none of your business to know?

bacon_masta 04-08-2004 02:34 PM

I just tried Yahoo Direct as well - but bailed out when they asked for my SS # to set up a credit card transaction.

I'll mail a check instead.

adam 09-04-2004 01:38 PM

OK, since PayDirect requires an SSN (which I'm not really keen on giving them), I sent a check... keep up the good work! And thanks for all your work so far.

DJ Happy 10-06-2004 03:12 AM

How can us TFPers outside of the US pay electronically? Halx, if you PM me some account details, can I telex transfer you some funds?

Obviously if you say "Yes" then I will do it. I'm not just asking out of interest :D

lukethebandgeek 10-06-2004 02:47 PM

And I forgot how to delete messages. I'll be in the faq for a bit now.

lukethebandgeek 10-06-2004 02:47 PM

I love the site, so here you go.
(donating fanfare)
Keep it up.

maximoff72 10-07-2004 06:10 AM

So is the Yahoo pay totaly safe?

fryan5 10-07-2004 06:01 PM

thanks, y'all

Jeff 10-07-2004 07:17 PM

Can somebody give me a step-by-step with using Paypal to do this?

Halx 10-07-2004 08:02 PM

Step 1: You cant use PayPal

waltert 10-07-2004 09:18 PM

well damn, I guess that clears it up. halx, are there any board members that you would trust to be an intermediary of paypal funds? or will I just have to suck it up and go to the post office?

Jeff 10-07-2004 09:48 PM

Fair enough. I thought I'd read in previous posts that others had used Paypal.

I'll get the money going, some other way than.

naruto510 10-15-2004 03:58 PM
