Reading and lack of writing
I've been going to this website for years, yet despite how I go basically every other day, I have yet to really post anything. Back in high school, this was only a few years ago, two of my friends turned me onto this website, saying that it was “an actual message board.” So I had to check it out for myself, years later I am still hooked. Oddly enough, I just read the posts and not actually reply myself, but this is something that I’ve been doing with basically all the other message boards that I go to, and I do go to a few. I just read and not actually say anything, myself, but I do learn or get a laugh out of it. So I guess that technically I could be considered a newbie, because of my lack of posts, but on the other hand I have been to this website almost everyday for I don’t know something like four years or so. I don't know what made me decide to actually post today, instead of my usual observing, but I have recently started actually posting to the IMDB board as well, another board that I have been going to a lot and not speaking up.

Good for you mate. I used to be like you, just reading and never posting and trust me, this place gets even better when you feel like you're contributing something towards it.

I did the same thing for quite awhile. I just started posting recently, and its definatley more rewarding to be able to respond to other's ideas and thoughts. However I dont think there is anything wrong with just reading, some boards ive been to really dont like what they call "lurkers".

Your days of lurking are over. Weird how never posting suddenly became the topic of the thread. Goes to show you how "nothing" can be "everything." This is getting too metaphysical. Sorry, I just watched "I heart Huckabees"
Seriously, just post when you really feel like you have something to contribute...this being a bad example

When I first joined, I didn't think I'd be doing much posting. I've joined several other forums and never really posted much, but this one is different. I started posting immediately and always felt welcome to share my views. I'm glad to see your post, and look forward to seeing further contributions as they come up!

Almost all the threads make you think, we just want to know what it is you're thinking.
Sometimes it's just regular commentary, yet sometimes there's an inspiration to be profound...even in tilted nonsense!!

imdb has one of the weirder board systems of any major site that I've been to. the signal to noise ratio is quite low (meaning: lots of noise), and there are *tons* of spoilers in thread titles, but there are enough gems from time to time that I can't completely give up browsing it.

Everyone has a valued opinion to share, including you . . . don't deprive us all of your thoughts . . . speak up . . . and we'll listen just like we are now
