waxing question

ok im gonna think out loud here... bare with me

shaving only lasts a day or two before hair begins to grow back;
waxing generally keeps the area clean for longer than shaving true?
so then would it be right to assume that tweezing would give the same results as waxing since you are basically doing the same thing by removing the hair by the root? should tweezing last just as long as waxing, longer than shaving?
this thought arises from the fact that i was waxed not too long ago and i was just thinking that for maintenance purposes it would be easier to keep it up with sporadic plucking rather than shaving or growing it out to be long enough to wax again...
so should this be true? waxing & tweezing will give the same longer lasting result?
I hope that wasent confusing to read.
thanks!

I think it would have the same effect the only difference being that waxing you are getting the pain over and done with in one quick swipe, where as with tweezing you are continuously pulling the hairs out in one area.
I had a friend of mine that did the waxing and thought of doing the same thing that you mentioned with tweezing only because she didnt want to pay for the waxing job again. She quickly realized that it was easier and a lot less painfull to do it in one shot or go back to using a cream hair remover cause after a few pulls with the tweezers it started to really irritate her skin and hurt to the point she had red marks.
Somewhere I read and I m not going to quote it because I could be mistaken but they said it can and will damage the skin pulling hair out with tweezers.
I just us a razor and cream hair removers and I m usually good for about 3 weeks with a cream before I start to get a touch roughness before I either have to shave or use the cream again.

Definately have to go with Yalalnia on this one. Waxing gets the pain over very quickly, and to be quite honest, isn't even that bad. Tweezing on the other hand, hurts more (in my opinion) over a longer time frame. I can't say this with any great authority as I haven't tweezed too much at all, but as an ambassador for waxing, I'd definately leave the tweezers for above the beltline.

well tweezing doesnt bother me, not painful for me... and it would only be to maintain it... i just dont want to have to grow it out to have to wax again... that, and i want a more long term effect as opposed to shaving...
I havent ever tried hair removal creams, but I heard they burn... is that true?

A girlfriend of mine is an esthetician (I'm sure I massacred that spelling), and the ONE time I went for a Brazilian wax, she not only waxed, but went after any "strays" with the tweezers.
Waxing = ouchie
Tweezing = ohholymarymotherofgodgetthosethingsawayfromme

And as far as hair removal creams, my brother uses them on his *cough*, and he hasn't had a complaint. And I only know that because I saw the nair under his bathroom counter, and just HAD to ask what it was doing there......sometimes less information is better!

what is this "cream" that you keep talking about?! If it really keeps your hair-free for nearly 3 weeks then I want to try it! :P

what's it called?!

Well Nair doesn't last long at all. Maybe a week for me. I hate that stuff!

I considered tweezing one day - pulled out one hair - and decided to never tweeze again. I'd love to get a wax, but until then, I'll stick with good ole shaving. It may be a pain in the ass, but at least it's not painful.

I've tried Veet but it only lasts 2 days! Isn't there anything that'll last longer than Veet or Nair?

I have always used nair, and it could be cause the the hair on my legs is a little finer then anywhere else but it does take about 3 weeks for the hair on my legs to grow back.
