				Charcoal!
Finally went out last night and bought some decent paper for some charcoal sketches.. and these are the two products so far. As usual, comments/suggestions/criticisms are welcomed!

				Self portrait
This is a self portrait. I think I posted the photo it's based off of a while ago (the favorite shots of 2007 thread?). I have a few little issues with it, but it's really a relatively rough sketch. I'm trying to get back in the groove after about four years of not working with charcoal.

| Soaring Location: Ohio! | Thanks, to both of you. Nimetic: Charcoal is easier to work with than you think. I'm not great at drawing with graphite, but charcoal is more adjustable (to me). I like shading, though. And black and white.

| Comment or else!! Location: Home sweet home | I like me some o' dem drawings. Charcoal is something I've always wanted to try but I always make a mess with graphite so imagine what I'm gonna do with charcoals.

| Soaring Location: Ohio! | Hahaha, KellyC, I'm left-handed. I make a HUGE mess with the charcoal, but thankfully I have good erasers to take care of the mess.. I also have white charcoal/pastels to clean up my messes, too. Black fingers, hand, and arm are just part of the process.

| loving the curves Location: my Lady's manor | I really like your portrait. Nice and strong, with a good composition. Plus you were able to make such a sensitive mouth. I have always been nervous about charcoal and impressed with those who handle it well.

| Soaring Location: Ohio! | Thank you so much, Kramus! Charcoal is my preferred medium for paper, but I also love working with acrylics. I'm much better at creating "real" images with charcoal, though.. acrylics are really for playing.
