I'm just starting with PS, and this is my first real pic. I started with a tutorial, and added some stuff. Tell me how each looks, and which looks better.

good start! PS is very addicting and the possiblilities are truly endless. second one is better as it is more fluid. you can go further as i see a creature in there waiting to come out. once you have become comfortable with the main software, google some freebie filtering programs. i have probably a few hundred of them myself. planetphotoshop has excellent tutorials on making special effects as well. i have be a photoshopoholic for 3 years and have done work for others with it, am now taking graphic design courses and would just love to be an instructor! enjoy your creativity. thanks for sharing.

yeah... the second is better. It's not so blurry/messy like the first

i like the first better, it has more subtle effects
