the red fez on the wall is a great touch.

as for my contribution
i'm new to gradients.
i've always been a flat color user.
anyone have any tips (drawing in illustrator)?

and any suggestions
on how to make it look like a punch
and not a love pat on the nose?

doodlebird - Cool picture.

Try this- make angry eyebrows over the turtle's eyes. That may make it look like he's hitting, instead of patting.

Dug out the scanner to scan in this pencil drawing and then used airbrush in photo re-touch software.

Edit: posted a crappy version of this last friday. Found time to improve it.
