OK, so after seeing Dobster's drawings of people, I thought I'd post one of my own. I'm trying to get the hang of the gradient mesh tool, (face and lightsaber glow) and I think it has given me the look I'm going for. I am far from mastering it, but definately a step in the right direction...

Here's a closeup of the face.

It starts to look a little flat the closer you zoom in, but it's a start. It was drawn using a photo I found on the web, so if it looks fimaliar, that's why...

Its very nice but you have cut some of hes jaws away but maybe its because its so hard to see in the source picture...

wanker & Dizzet, thanks for the suggestions. I did these in my "spare time" at work, and the monitor I have there sucks donkey balls. I can see the color differences better now and will make those adjustments. Thanks!

You got too much free time

They look really good! I'm really impressed that you took into account that the top of maul's head is pinkish colour

Nancy & feelgood, actually that only took me about 2 hours. There wasn't really a whole lot to draw there. The variations on the mesh gradient were the bulk of the time. Actually, drawing out paths doesn't take me that long, and there aren't that many on this drawing. At least not compared to some of the things I have done.

Here is another quickie I did...

No, I'm not a member of the Raider Nation, I did this for a friend who is.
