The Kid Has Talent
My son 'doodles'. He thinks what he does is no big deal. Well, i'm using my bragging rights because I see what he does at a big deal. He claims to not be interested in pursuing art...yet he constantly draws in Flash, on notepaper, everywhere. And it's doodling-his art assignments are fantastic.
Here's some of his 'doodles': and Samurai Weasel...a cartoon yet to be made....give him a couple more years tho:

Wow how old is he? Did you say that and I missed it? Oh and at one time my family was sure I was going to grow up to be an artist. I would draw all the time, everywhere, on my bookcovers during class, etc. I've since pretty much stopped doing it though. Not that I don't enjoy it but perhaps it's just a creative expression/boredom killer

He's 13. Didn't want to wait 5 more years so he could post himself(besides, he shrugs off our compliments, saying, 'it's nothing') I had thought about putting these in the 'look what my kid did' thread.

While this post technically is against the rules (it isn't ngdawg's art, but her son's), I don't think it's against the spirit of the rule, i.e. someone posting willy nilly other artwork just to say, gee that's cool, or worse, posting someone elses art as their own. Still, we'll kick the question around and clarify the policy

I think it's perfectly acceptable to post here, just say you're the guardian of his intellectual property!
I got stuck into drawing about that age too, I'm actually thinking about taking it back up. Tell your son he's talented and he should keep it up even if he doesn't want to make a career out of it because it's a lot of fun. |
