Leave Behinds

After laying low for a while, I think it's finally time once again for me to again pursue a career in an artistic field. So I was putting together my leave behinds today and thought I'd ask for some feedbeck before I go handing these out to potential employers. These one page samples would be left behind along with my resume and, if I got an interview, then I would bring in my full sized portfolio. So first let's begin with my resume which sets up the letterhead...

That looks fairly impressive.

If you could chuck together a dvd of any animation you've done, that'd probably help too.

You are extremely talented. We actually had a 'portfolio class' in the school I attended and were instructed to use our artwork in a commercial setting, ie: advertising. I would take at least half of those pieces and incorporate them into an ad-add some text, etc. I keep 3 sample sheets: photographic work, commercial and a combo sheet of graphics and photography. Also, if you have a site to direct people to, great. If not, you can use something like http://www.tripod.lycos.com/ to showcase your work.
Good luck!

Well, I'm not too much into taking pictures and I don't even own a camera so that leaves out the photography aspect. But as for the advertising aspect, that's a good idea. Most of the places I will be applying to will not be advertising firms, but I think I'll make a second portfolio just for the ad firms based on your suggestions.

Now my business card options...
Which one is better? Or should I just scrap these ideas and come up with something completely different?

the 2nd one looks better. the 1st, seems like the rooster is poping out rather than the name. very cool b-card.

Actually, I like the first better because the rooster pops-it's a grabber. The only problem with it is that the contact on the bottom runs over it...
Going back to the portfolio and sample sheets, it's not that you have to go to only advertising firms, it's to show your versatility and how the things you do could be utilized in various settings.

Card #2, it doesn't have copy colliding with art.

Your stuff looks great. The only other suggestion I might make is to change the font for "2D" and 3D." It doesn't quite work for me. Maybe use the font that you used in your logo/name.

Oh and I like the second card but I think your name should stand out more. I am thinking of commic book covers where the titile is usually in balance with the symbol.
