The Tonite Show Tonite... :)

Ann Coulter and George Carlin on Leno Wednesday
Quote:
The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" host might want to consider wearing referee stripes. Ann Coulter and George Carlin are Leno's guests Wednesday night.

Coulter is the quick-witted, acid-tongued conservative with a new book out. Carlin is the quick-witted, anti-establishment comedian who's in the voice cast for the new animated film "Cars." The duo's meeting could produce serious fireworks for a show that usually limits its political fodder to Leno's bipartisan monologue jokes.

Coulter has drawn fire recently for attacking the four New Jersey widows who pushed for an independent commission to investigate the 9/11 NoWorld Trade Center attacks in which their husbands died.

In "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," Coulter accuses the women of reveling in their status as celebrities. "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much," she wrote. "Tonight" airs at 11:35 p.m. on KING/5.
Now this is gonna be entertainment if George and Ann are on the sofa at the same time...

I'm not a big fan of leno (lettermanis just better) but I must admit, my adoration of George Carlin as well as the need to watch a potention car wreck will have me watching tonite...

How about you?

I'm there!

Normally I just watch Jay on Mondays for Headlines, but for this...I'll make an exception. Sorry Dave.

Oh, I've been waiting for this all week - since I first heard tonight's lineup. I can only imagine that it will be delightfully entertaining. But, if they're not out together, I'm gonna be a bit let down.

Best monologue comment:

Jay Leno: "This is the last time we let EHarmony pick our guests " and then some comment about the 20 point match...

Though Carlin's comment, when Ann Coulter came out, about him never thinking he'd move to the right was pretty funny.

I expected more.. the way the show was hyped.. i really expected more..

I saw a promo for the show last night and it featured Carlin's comment about having to move right... Looks like I didn't miss anything.

It was a good show, but I also expected much more. I'm surprised Carlin was on such good behavior - I would've like to see him spice things up a bit!

No...you really did not. Coulter tried to be funny a couple of times, and fell flat. I almost felt kind of sorry for her. Carlin just sat and shook his head.

That said...what in the hell was Coulter yammering on about? Liberalism is a religion?

I thought it was an episode of the Ann Coulter Show, because she seemed to be the one in charge. I can't believe that Jay and George would not at least TRY to have some fun with her.

On a more positive note, I was COMPLETELY blown away by K.T. Turnstall. The chick can definitely rock. Was her guitar sticker aimed at Coulter or did it mean something else? Also, the show featured the author of the #1 book, an actor in the #1 movie, and the singer of a nearly #1 song. Good bookings, at least.
