I'm very torn in my opinion of Up. On the one hand, like everyone's saying, the first sequence of the film is incredible. I haven't been that touched by a movie in years. The fact that the animators were able to convey such subtle emotions amazes me every time I watch.

On the other hand, I found other parts of the movie to be over-the-top and cartoonish. The boy's voice is very grating to my ears, and a lot of the action sequences felt like they were from the Looney Tunes. There were a few plot twists that made little to no sense. Of course this is a kid's film and that sort of stuff should be expected. But the fact that quality emotional moments were mixed in with sight gags makes it difficult for me to rate.

Voted for Wall-E, have seen all of them except for UP. Honestly I'm surprised Incredibles is currently winning.

Yes, they are all good. Sorry Pulpmind, I haven't seen Up or Wall-E, but it would take something really really impressive to topple The Incredibles off my #1 spot on this list. Hell, The Incredibles is on my top 10 (5?) list of favorite movies all time. That was a damn near perfect action/adventure/hero movie... it just happens to be animated.

I'm surprised about Incredibles, myself.

I was torn between Up and Wall-E. Decided for Wall-E based on rewatchability factor. I've been really wanting to watch it again recently. All the research they did on silent films and Chaplan really impresses me. So much emotion conveyed without speech.

The first sequence of Up was amazing, and Kevin was such great comic relief!

Of the ones I've seen I liked Ratatouille the most. I haven't seen Wall-E or Up but I need to add those to the list. I really liked A Bug's Life and The Incredibles but there's something about the rat that was just more entertaining to me.

VOTD: Pixar’s Studio Stories | /Film

a series of featurettes produced by Pixar Studios, entailing and encompassing just that: tales of Pixar Studios.

Oh, more you say: well, they are .. animated reenactments of interesting or funny stories that took place during the making of the two films. From the original Pixar animation building which had toys sticking out of the ceiling, to what happened when Toy Story 2 got accidently deleted, to John Lasseter’s crappy car, to an Art Director who quits the company every year on April 1st.

Enjoy.
