I've always loved that 3rd definition of porn that Darkblack quoted: "the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction".
I think it was in Neal Stephenson or someone where I first read someone using "porn" with that definition. Just about everything we see on the TV today is porn: CNN is just news porn; Entertainment Tonight is just celebrity porn; our movies show violence porn even more than sex porn. Do celebrities do acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction? They sure do...that's their job. Call it porn or not, it doesn't matter. As for the act itself...well, I'm all for hot girls kissing. There would be other girls I might chose to see kissing on TV first...mmm...but I'm not picky. |
Ok, I just watched a little clip of the "kiss", and, honestly, I don't understand what the big deal is. It was just a peck. Most of the girls I know do that kind of stuff all the time. From all the comments here, I was expecting some kind of make out session, but no,....just a peck.

Agreed, it was erotic and very hot. However, also agreed, they oughta know better, kids can see that stuff man. Oh btw, Madonna is not as straight as a stick, she's done this sex marketing before and it worked, but only adults could buy her stuff. If they want to be lesbians that's their business, but don't exhibit it in a forum where young girls as young as 8 or 9 can see you.

What the fuck are you doing letting your little girl watch MTV? After my dad watched George Michael's "I Want Your Sex" video, my days of sitting around watching MTV 18 hours a day were gone. I didn't start even trying to watch again until I was twelve or thirteen, and I've never been officially told that it's all right for me to start watching MTV again. Have you SEEN any of these females' videos? Don't go railing about your kid watching, because they don't control whether or not your kid watches! YOU do! Edit: *shakes fist angrily* |

Parents know that MTV isn't a family channel, so what the hell is wrong with a couple women kissing on a channel that parents know their kids shouldn't be watching? Parents should know that hardcore rap or death metal isn't something for 8 or 9 year olds too, yet so many of them let their kids listen to it too. Parents know these things.. yet.... |

It's pretty simple, Madonna has always been an 'I'm gonna shock you to get attention' type of performer. She has always gone against the grain to get publicity. It also puts a bit of a 'I own you' stamp on Britney and Christina. Britney was not expecting when it happened. Madonna has always had a way about coming up with new tricks to get attention and that is what has made her so damn fun to watch. Now I'm waiting for the nude Madonna, Britney and Christina coffee table book to come out.

Lebron James boring us with his attempt to get a kiss from Ashanti.... Shouldn't someone who gets a lifetime achievement award have their own segment? Duran Duran seemed like an afterthought. You're one of the greatest of all=time......here's a video tribute with no audio (Hello? It's a musical act?? Where's the music???) and now let's present an award to someone more important than you. It was a lame show. Except for the kiss, of course. |
The scripted banter sounds forced and comes off as dumb.
The Viewer's Choice Award is dumb--it's simply a measure of how many people shelled out a buck to vote for the singer of their choice. I would have loved to have seen if not a live performance, at least some clips with sound of Duran Duran. Too much of the show was cringe-inducing. |
Now I didn't see the whole show, but I don't think it was anything new from all the other shows.
I do agree that the presenters were aweful (for the amount i saw) and Lebron James needs to just shut up and open the envelope. Also it was nothing new with the shameless plugs for everyone and thier brothers albums. All i know is Murphy's Law drops on September 23rd. The kisses were awesome and unexpected. Britney and Madonna, oh yeah. Christina and Madonna....don't care. Where's my hottie "Genie in a Bottle"\"What a girl wants" Christina? She's turned into a bad hairday, everyday, hootchie. Now don't get me wrong, a slutty turn is ok by me (I have enormous respect for filth) but she's getting that porn star on a whiskey and coke bindge thing going on. It's not for me. During the kissing and dancing the camera was getting some shots of the audience, as per Texs' pic up there, and when they caught Snoop Dogg, he sort of ducked his head and smiled like he was embarrassed.
Wtf? :hmm: That's our Doggfather being embarrassed by something like that!?! Methinks we've been duped! I call shenanigans. Is his image completely false? :eek: The way I view the kissing escapade, is it was a bit of harmless fun. It's not that big a deal. There are weightier issues to worry on and they have priority over this one. Besides, if kids aren't kept in a dungeon somewhere then chances are they've seen it before. |
