Dammit, these movies NEED Gambit. If they got someone like Brad Pitt or Stephen Dorff to play him it would be kickass

i think a fan favorite to play Gambit is Brad Renfro. It'd be way too costly to get a huge actor like the ones you mentioned because they'd want a high salary and the cast is just too big. They need to either go with an unknown who can pull off the athleticism and the accent or go with someone like Renfro who is a talented young actor who can pull the accent off.

Plus, Bryan Singer, the director of X-Men and Ian McKellan worked with Renfro in Apt Pupil so it'd be perfect; he could easily persuade him to come back. If they were going for the younger age Gambit to match with Rogue, then I wouldn't mind Brad Renfro playing the part.

God bless you man...

Seriously, I've collected/read thousands of comics in my earlier years, and Colossus and Captain America have always been my two favorite superheroes - with Steve Rogers being a far distant second to Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin. I heard that Colossus died recently, and I was actually a little sad about it!

I really don't understand why that character has fans. Never, not once, has he appeared in a story worth telling. At least Wolverine got some excellent treatment by Frank Miller and John Byrne before Claremont reduced him to the characeture that he is. Gambit was always a clown.

No, they don't. They've got the core team, they really don't need anyone else. They particularly DO NOT need to include that guy. Gambit is proof of Claremont's descent into banality and madness.
