I watched a bit of the Six Million Dollar Man show when I was real young, so maybe my memory of the show is hazy, but the show definately wasn't a comedy, right? It was purely an action show, as I remember it. So I don't see where they're going with this. I mean, it's not like they're making a spoof of the show.... right? So how does Jim Carrey fit into this? If this isn't a spoof, then what the hell is he doing starring in it? I'm an 80's kid, so maybe someone else could shed some light as to whether there's any credence to having Jim Carrey be the lead...

Okay, Jim Carrey, the guy that talked out of his ass in Ace Ventura, is going to play the same character that Lee Majors played in the 80s?!
I barely remember the show, but I don't think Carrey is the type of person to carry on the persona of the Six Million Dollar Man. Of course the could give him a new character with bionics thats goofy and call him the 6 million dollar man but would kill the idea behind the old show. And isn't a new TV. Show already doing this of sorts (I'm talking about Jake 2.0 and it uses nano-bots instead of bionics)

Besides all that about Carrey, wouldn't they need to call it The Six-Billion Dollar Man now?
'Cause, a dollar don't buy as much electronics as it used to.

And they will screw SMDM up, if they make it a comedy. I grew up with this shit...it was an awesome show. Jim Carey shouldn't be the one doing this. Starkey & Hutch shouldn't be a comedy either. And yes, it should be calls the six billion dollar man or at least the SIXTY million dollar man. |

I will go to my grave saying that Jim Carrey can do almost anything. I loved "man in the moon," and the next one he is doing "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is going to be wonderful. IMO

ok- in the article they say comedy- and while carrey can do anything, I fear he will botch it like he did the riddler- it could be done neat, but i cant see it as a comedy

It was fun taking his arm plate off and looking at his bionics, too. I had an Evel Knievel action figure with one of those wind-up motorcycles and we would get Col. Austin and Evel on the back and see which one could make it down the hallway the farthest without falling off. (ahhh, good times)

I loved Carey in The Majestic and no matter how many times I watch Ace Ventura (part 1) I still laugh my socks off. |

Carrey is a pretty impressive actor -- I'm sure he will be able to pull off whatever the writers/director ask him to do. How they decide to portray the character, though, is another story..
