I read that Herbert's son is going to write the final book of the Dune series based off of notes he found.

Lucas basically ripped off a ton of concepts from other creators, mashed them together, and made Star Wars. Don't knock it, it's a valid creative method, and it produced the most watched Sci-Fi franchise ever.

BTW - I'd like for Lucas to tell us more about the "Spice Mines of Kessel" to see if this spice is melange.

Everyone does it, just look at The Matrix and The Terminator (I love both franchises though...).

Spice Mines of Kessel, I recommend reading the Han Solo trilogy, explains them in there plus it's damn good for a Star Wars novel series.

um, no i think that is NOT true. actually, Kessel is where the Spice Girls originally came from. Zig-ah-zig-ah means something naughty in their native language.

I don't even see how the two can be compared. I've recently read Dune and of course have seen Starwars more times than I am comfortable admitting. But I don't see a resemblance between the two storys.
