Finding an old book for my dad... help!

Hey guys, I'm on a bit of a mission here. I've been searching in the usual locations, online and at bookstores, but am still a bit off from the target (finding the book).

Here's the thing, my dad is looking for a book he read about thirty years ago called "The Executioners". He doesn't know the name of the author, but there are a few specific details about the story that I'm going on.

My hope is that someone out there may have read the book, and have some more info, like an author or something, so I could narrow down my hunt.

It's about the Russian revolution, and has to do with the KGB and espionage. Also, in the book there is a weapon that looks like a pen, but is actually a deadly weapon.

and... that's it. haha, I know, a bit sparse on the details but that's all I've got to go on.

Any help or suggestions on places I could look to find a copy of this would be really, really appreciated.

Just throwing this one out there, and hoping for the best.

Sounds like Frederick Forsythe maybe. Don't know though. It sounds like his type of story, chances are if you never find it, he'll like one of his books.

The Executioners.
by Creasey, John.
Binding: Hardcover Publisher: Scribner Date Published: 1967

The Executioners
by Carter, Nick
Binding: Paperback Publisher: award Date Published: 1970

Those are the two I could find that seem to fit the time frame, don't know if you've looked into them or not. The first is the 35th book in the Inspector West series, while the second is a book in the Killmaster series.

Pellaz, that last one sounds very promising. I'll check it out, but I'm going to look into all of the suggestions. Thanks a bunch. The help really is appreciated.
