Best way to store DVD's?

I buy alot of DVD movies and im running out of room (near 200 or so). My question is whats the best way to store them out of their cases?

I was looking at some of the DVD specific Case Logic binders and those are decent and pricey, but I was thinking of the Case Logic CD binders seeing as I have a few of those on hand, empty and collecting dust atm. Not sure if the regular CD binders could/would cause any damage to a DVD.

Im not really worried about keeping the inserts. Was thinking of just boxing up all the original cases and tossing them in my storage, that way I have them if there's ever a need.

Any info or advice would be appreciated.

There shouldn't be any difference between storing them in CD binders or DVD binders. The only difference I can think of is that the DVD binder probably has room for the booklet, but you said you don't care about stooring those. I would personally never store my DVDs (or my CDs) in a booklet like that, but that's just me. I'm paranoid about scratching them.

I store my DVD's in those case logic booklets, and they work fine. No scratches or anything. Just don't go cheap.

The best was to store them is in their cases. If I were you I would consider other options. Have you looked at spinning towers to save wall space?

Maybe something like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....&ref=03&loc=01

I use Case Logic 250 CD Binders, they work great and the cases stay in perfect condition in the attic if I ever want to trade a movie in or something...

I keep mine in a fridge. Nice and fresh.

Seriously though, I have a bookcase full of them and a wardrobe shelf stacked with them, I'm nearly at 200 too.

oh.. the folder method....

lemme tell you a story about a friend...

he had about the same amount of DVD's at the time... about 200+ and he had them in folders. He chose this method after losing ONE box of them during moving, about 75 of them.

His son age 5 found the folder, nice leather bound jammie... and it's been MIA for close to 1 year now. One day it just disappeared and no one knows.

I'm all for keeping them all together but separate. If some thief was to come over and steal my stuff, they'd have a LARGE box to have to take them all in, not just a handy little binder.

That case you posted Cynthetiq, looks really nice just wish I had the room for it.

Was my B-day the other day. Now adding another 12 DVD's and 2 more seasons off Stargate(5 disks for each season).

Probally gonna just go ahead and go the regular cd binders, but still a bit undecided. Realized a good point about the actualy DVD specific binders is that they use an actual 3 ring binder so when I need to add a new movie its alot easier to keep them in order by just popping open the rings and adding it. Just alot more pricey versus the cd binder.. hmm decisions decisions hehe.

Thanks again all, Really appreciate the responses.
