Lets play a game....

Alright first ya pick an actor you have total faith in. Object is to find an actor that hasn't been in ONE bad movie (easier to say has never acted bad on a part but thats too easy) and you pick it...the next person tries his damnedest to find a movie that person has been in that truely sux ass...not just by their own personal opinion but by the opinion of many. The use of review sites like Rottentomatoes among others to aid yer search is allowed of course. I think I'll start it off with a sorta hard one...lets try...

Jack Nicholson!

I guess whoever doesn't get called out must really know his shit.

sadistikdreams 08-26-2004 10:36 PM

Um... Something's Gotta Give.

Hugo Weaving.

Paradise Lost 08-26-2004 10:41 PM

Matrix Pts 2 & 3.

Peter Sellers.

Lasereth 08-27-2004 03:00 AM

Well, this game is already over! No one can judge if a movie is good or bad. I personally think Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions are Hugo Weaving's best movies. I also think the two sequels are some of the best movies ever made...especially Reloaded. I can't consider Reloaded and Revolutions average, much less bad.

Tophat665 08-27-2004 03:20 AM

I kinda have to go with Lasereth on this one. Something's gotta give may not have been to your taste, but it did not suck. Try "Wolf". That sucked. And all three Matrix movies rocked, as did all three LOTR movies, as did Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. It may be that there is another Australian film that Hugo Weaving was in that did suck, but, if so, I havn't seen it.

With that said, The Fiendish Plot of Dr Fu Manchu is pretty much universally acclaimed to be a bomb. Hell of a way to make your exit, Pete.

Next: Wynnona Rider (some chick flicks true, but judge fairly!)

moonstrucksoul 08-27-2004 03:00 PM

lost souls - just another satan is coming to earth flick.

Kevin Spacey

K-Wise 08-27-2004 04:28 PM

Ordinary Decent Criminal

Anthony Hopkins

Kadath 08-27-2004 04:49 PM

Meet Joe Black.

God, what a stain upon a great actor's career.

The devil in me wants to suggest Toshiro Mifune, but I will instead go with Clint Eastwood, as there's an obvious tie between them.

Stompy 08-27-2004 05:11 PM

Bridges Over Madison County.

I think there's some rule in Hollywood that, as you get older, you're destined to star in a sappy POS love story/family movie.

Las is right though, haha, because there's gonna be some older female that absolutely LOVES this movie :|

My choice: Johnny Depp.

Tophat665 08-27-2004 05:29 PM

Sleepy Hollow was pretty wretched, and the Astronaut's Wife looked just awful.

Next: Ed Harris

K-Wise 08-27-2004 05:34 PM

Johnny Depp was in Secret Window which sucked ass according myself and many others. Not to mention Freddy's Dead.

Asta!!

bltzkriegmcanon 08-27-2004 06:02 PM

Since K-Wise didn't mention an actor in his last post, I'll just go ahead and put mine in. How about Sean Bean!

K-Wise 08-27-2004 06:45 PM

Dammit yer right I didn't! I don't think I'm in position to comment on this guy. It says a lot of his movies suck but the only one I've seen out of that list is "Don't Say A Word" and I don't particularly think that one sucked all that much at all. Someone else is gonna have to take this one.

Asta!!

Tophat665 08-27-2004 07:09 PM

Whoa nelly! IMDB lists Johnny Depp in both Sleepy Hollow and the Astronaut's Wife!! (Though now that you mention it, Freddy's Dead is the real stinker of the bunch.)

Sean Bean was in (again according to IMDB) "How to get Ahead in Advertising" which is one of those movies that is very watchable because of how very awful it is (like This Island Earth or Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.)

Next: Ed Harris, please.

K-Wise 08-27-2004 07:31 PM

OH PULLIN OUT THE BIG GUNS I SEE!! Hmm it has a lot of movies I've seen from him that apparently suck only one I didn't care so much for was The Human Stain...I mean has it's good things just not as a whole. Asside from that I like most of the other movies and the other ones I haven't seen yet. I'll need a second opinion on this. If someone agrees I'll post my next choice

Asta!!

Re: Ed Harris
i don't know about bad films that drunk bastard has done, but one shit performance he gave was in a bar i used to work in.

he got liquored up on Guinness, then thought it would be really funny to throw his half empty glass at the floor. he did, it shattered and made a HUGE mess for me to clean up.
then, after that he got pissed off at the manager for telling him to leave. so he tries to clean up the broken glass... cutting his hand in the process.
he then grabbed my hand. i had his alcohol infused blood all over my hand.
dirty drunk bastard.

NEXT: Al Pacino

K-Wise 08-27-2004 07:49 PM

^ SCARFACE! j/k No but he was in The Recruit, Any Given Sunday, and Simone plus he had a cameo in Gigli (ain't seen it but I heard he did.)

No one has picked an Actress yet...I think I'll go out on a limb and be the first to do so.

Jessica Lange

Asta!!

K-Wise 08-27-2004 08:22 PM

^ Well I WANTED to edit my last post cause someone has picked an Actress and I didn't notice but it says my post must be lengthened to at least 10 characters? What kind of shit is that? It never used to do that shit before. What happened to Quick Edit too?

Asta!!

Kadath 08-28-2004 06:11 AM

Far North, I guess. I've only ever seen her in Rob Roy.

Gabriel Byrne?

Lasereth 08-28-2004 07:45 AM

Sleepy Hollow bad?? Jesus! I think it's probably Depp's best performance, not to mention a damn good movie.

-Lasereth

saut 08-28-2004 08:05 AM

Ok, ok. Here's a man that has never been in a single bad movie:

Christopher Walken.

Game. Over.

Yep Pulp Fiction definitely. Sorry just proving a point that this game isn't going to work out. I mean shit, someone already mentioned Matrix 2 and 3. That should have been it there as far as I'm concerned.

Chingal0 08-28-2004 10:19 AM

Christopher Walken - Last Man Standing.

Gabriel Byrne - Cool World

Matrix 3 is shit.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Lasereth 08-28-2004 12:41 PM

Ha ha, how can you hate Matrix 3 but like the second one? They're the same movie split in half. :)

-Lasereth

K-Wise 08-28-2004 06:49 PM

Christopher Walken was in all of the Prophecy sequels

Gabriel Byrne was also in Ghost Ship and End Of Days (for those like me who thought Cool World kicked ass)

Gwyneth Paltrow was in View From The Top, Hush, and Bounce (Most Ben Affleck films pretty much suck balls....Chasing Amy ruled though)

Orlando Bloom (not really all that fair but I'm sure asside from the LOTR films he might have 1 or 2 bad ones out of the like 6 movies he's done)

Asta!!

Grancey 08-30-2004 10:38 PM

Black Hawk Down. Two straight hours of guns and gore is too many for me. In addition, the guy sitting next to me with his spit cup didn't help.

Annette Bening

Church 08-30-2004 10:58 PM

Mars Attacks. 'Nuff said.

Ron Livingston

happyraul 08-31-2004 12:47 PM

Kadath 08-31-2004 06:50 PM

Charlotte Gray was pretty damn bad.

Andy Garcia.

Nafter 08-31-2004 07:17 PM

"Twisted" for Andy Garcia

Ill go with Chiaki Kuriyama, played gogo in Kill Bill :D

K-Wise 08-31-2004 07:26 PM

Hmmm how about that movie Twisted?

Audrey Hepburn

K-Wise 08-31-2004 07:28 PM

Dammit you beat me out by seconds. And a chick who's only done 3 movies?!

Asta!!

FoolThemAll 08-31-2004 08:47 PM

I liked Something's Gotta Give. Boo.

Mel Gibson?

warrrreagl 08-31-2004 09:08 PM

Bird on a Wire.

Karen Allen.

saut 09-01-2004 06:51 AM

Wait, you guys actually took me seriously when I mentioned Walken in a "actor that hasn't been in any bad movies" thread? I think it's time to get the ole' sarcarsm detectors a tune-up. Maybe if the question was "name an actor who has never been in a good movie," Walken would be a serious response... but jeeze.

Oh, and obviously Walken has been in at least one good movie: The Deer Hunter, but that was what, 30ish years ago?

What the hell are you talking about? Christopher Walken was in a lot of good movies. I mean God damn, he had a cameo in Gigli, enough said right there.

monkeydriven 09-01-2004 07:49 AM

Back to Karen Allen....

Perfect Storm...
