Sportacus: Hot or Not???
O.K., need help here.
My kids are all about this new show on Nick Jr. called "LazyTown". Actually, it is a pretty good show with good lessons and morals.... Anyway, here is the dilema. When I showed my wife (I am now the stay-at-home dad who works virtual) the new show the kids are wild about, my wife went ga-ga over the lead "Super Hero", Sportacus. I think the whole whoosh-whish-whoosh thing is only him sharpening his skills in preparation for a city-council position in San Francisco. The super-hero thing is o.k., but the other stuff just makes me cringe... ...not that there is anything wrong with that. I want the opinions of any parents (or whatever) that have watched this show. Is my wife a knucklehead or am I jealous? /not a big argument or anything, she just keeps oohhhing and aaahhing when the show comes on (my wife that is) and I am giving her a hard time. She guarantees me that any moms that have seen the show would agree with her. //she adds that the purpose behind Sportacus is to appeal to the mommies out there so that they will turn the show on for the kids. |

No no, he's a 'slightly above average hero', according to him in the first episode.
My wife likes him. She did some looking around and it seems that something like 70% of the women in Iceland, where the show originates from, are gaga over him.

I voted 'hot' because there wasn't a 'cute but not my type' button. The mustache always makes me want to laugh, and the funky 'whoosh-whish-whoosh' thing is kinda goofy, but he's got a pretty nice bod!
My girls love this show, and it really does make them get up and move! They are 5 and 2 and love to sing along too. Moni (5) loves the website on pbskids.org and has learned all the songs and sings them all the time, she will be the next Stephany (so she says!).

My son LOVES this show. I think it teaches good morals and habits. My son is 3 and whenever he watches it he jumps around and does his own pushups. I love the show and I think Sportacus is good looking. He has a nice tone body and I can see why the woman like to watch the show!!! My son would really like the action figure but I can't find one!!! Maybe they will have one by Christmas!!!

Well, I didn't think too much about it but now that the question has been asked - He's got this cute accent, healthy body, tight pants and with that kind of energy and flexibility...
Ack - what am I saying? Am I allowed to think like that about a show my daughter watches?? I promise not to say anything out loud about it.

That dude freaks me out. He's just too damn energetic and limber. Then again, I'm just jealous. I want to be that tone and full of energy.
Though, I've never heard my wife mention anything about him in regards to how he looks. She and I did both kind of look at each other with that, "what the fuck?" look when we saw the commercial for it for the first time though.

My daughter watches this show sometimes. While it's a great show for kids, Sportacus is such a goof on the show there's no way for me to think of him as hot. Lots of guys are good looking, but there's more to hotness than that.

I voted in favor of his hotness. He has an incredible body! If he took the makeup off and acted serious it would help out. My daughter is past the Lazy Town craze. Wouldn't mind if she still wanted to watch it everyday!

I voted what's lazytown and went to check it out.
At first glance I thought this show was just one of those typical kids shows- throw in a few important lessons on the side, then hammer the kids with whatever merchandise will sell. They really suprised me. They really did. Check this out: http://www.lazytown.com/products Not a single candy bar or pop advert in sight- they are selling bread and veggies! an "economy" game that involves the community, books with a focus on the lesson it teaches, a nutrition book/log made into a game. Really impressive. To me, this really does look like a company with an ethical stance being supported by it's target market. I would love to see this sort of merchandising here in North America. edit- oh. Sportacus is quite the acrobat. I can see why the women like him.

hahaha OMG all you dads out there saying you think he's a flaming goofball you're damn right, but the jealousy teeming out is awfulyl noticeable
I mean i'm sorry, but Sportacus is one of the hottest men i've seen in..I don't know...ever. I watched this show for the first time with my 4 yr old nephew, and its his favorite show on noggin. i had never seen it before, and my first impression was that it was a creepy show for kids, until Sportacus came on doing his flips and showing off his ridiculously chiseled arms and bod. And his moves and flexibility!! i thought it was cheesy for an entire episode, but after the 2nd one i just loved him. i can tell he's doing it for the kids and that makes him that much hotter. The man looks awesome for his age too he is about 41 yrs old, I can't imagine him at my age (23) WHEW!!!! I voted Sportacus -Hot too bad Hotter than the Surface of the sun wasn't an option |

Funny thing is, most Icelandic men do not look ANYTHING like him!!! Not fit at all, if you ask me. But he has a HUGE following in Iceland (so does the girl in the show, I forget her name--Stephanie?)... and different names there, hehehe. There's a "LazyTown Run" every year for the kids, at the same time as the Reykjavik Marathon... they only run 1k, but hey, anything that gets them moving!!
