I use Wrestlezone.com for my news, it really takes me back to the days of the old Scoops Wrestling website, there are pop-ups I use the Pop Up Stopper that you can get for free from PCWorld.com

Maven and Storm did suck, and if Storm can't make you look good, then you need to go back to heat and be cained by Dreamer a few times.

rockzilla 07-18-2003 07:28 AM

A few of my Raw and Smackdown thoughts

Raw

- Good to see both Steiner and Nash being sent to mixed tag match hell, hopefully Nash will quit soon.
- Why did they insist on booking all of those false finishes through the whole Christian-Booker T feud? Once in a while is okay, but when you're restarting every match, it just gets annoying, can't a guy cheat anymore?
- I laughed my ass off as Maven botched that hip toss, a rowdier crowd would have started chanting "You fucked up!" which I love.
- So was Gail Kim vs. Molly Holly the main event? That's just sad.
- As soon as I saw Kane bust out the gas can, I knew JR was gonna get burnt.
- All in all, that was the worst Raw I think I've ever seen, I wouldn't be surprised to see Vince jump over there after Vengeance to start another McMahon-Austin feud, taking even more time away from the wrestlers.

Smackdown :

- Benoit/Hardy was amazing. In the words of Crowbar "Hardy's face is a crimson mess!" I hope they keep V1 in the US Title picture.
- Jamie Noble is hilarious, I love the indecent proposal bit, it's a shame that Billy Ass has to be involved.
- Speaking of Ass, apparently he was Vince's first pick to be US Champ, but he hasn't been getting the pops Vince was expecting, setting up the much better Guerrero/Benoit match for the finals.
- Steph makes really wierd noises when she catfights, I wonder if she sounds like that with HHH? It's so sad that they're spending more time hypeing Steph/Sable than anything else on the card for Vengeance except Vince/Zach and the main event.
- I don't have much to say about the main event, I figured Angle would go over since Show and 'The World's Greatest Tag Team' (what the hell kind of name is that?) beat Lesnar last week. I like it when the brawl gets taken way into the crowd though.

Maveric 07-18-2003 08:27 AM

kane has been the only reason i'm still watching RAW. Smackdown has and still is more entertaining IMHO...

brandon11983 07-18-2003 01:01 PM

Last night's SmackDown (match-wise) was rather dull. What happened with Cena and 'Taker? My PVR fucked up and I missed it.
Eddie and Benoit at Vengeance should make for a good match. They were very entertaining as a tag team, and are pretty evenly matched.
I am still unimpressed with Ultimo Draggin'. So he can fly around and stuff... big deal... Rey Rey is cooler.
Steph and Sable were quite fun to watch. I know there have to be many a nip slip from Sable, but I haven't done a slow motion replay yet.
King Kurt triumphs again!! Thanks to the one legged wonder that is. His dropkick into backflip move on Sheldon was pretty cool.

Completely true. As much as the fans cheer and scream when he comes out, his abilities are really diminished. He's a lot slower in the ring, and it's getting painful to watch his matches anymore.

The Rock and Hogan put on some good matches, but that only shows just how good The Rock is.

he "passed the torch" to The Rock and he should have just retired or atleast became a manager for some of the younger talent. they tried to do that with Rowdy Roddy Piper but they had him fighting too many of Sean O'hair's fights and that made him look weaker...

I like the role Ric Flair has taken except he's acting more like a young hot headed wrestler than the older, wiser, "dirtier player" that he used to be not too long ago... He needs to step back (wrestling-wise) and let guys like Randy Orton do his fighting for him. I remember days when Rick wouldn't even break a sweat because Arn "the Enforcer" Anderson would hand them their ass for him...

bondagegirl 07-20-2003 05:29 PM

I'm sorry if some of you guys here still enjoy seeing the flabby old Ric Flair in the ring... But GOD DAMN! I can't stand watching matches with him, He drives me INSANE! I can't stand that fake convulsion thing he does everytime he gets hit a little. Or if he gets slammed down on the ring or something, he's floppin around like a damn fish! I think it was last monday on RAW, when he wrestled with Orton and HHH, I officially made that the last match with Ric FLair, that I would EVER watch! It was horrible. He needs to stay outside the ring as a manager/ ring side coach, and never get into those wrestling speedos again!!!!

Thanks guys for hearing my rant!:D

Don't you like seeing his man boobs?

gduventree 07-21-2003 12:15 PM

Ric Flair must have gotten back into shape because I remember his man boobs being much worse than they are right now; they used to be all floppy and stuff. *shudder*

Himbo 07-21-2003 02:02 PM

I want to see the belt of Triple H. He is so boring I always switch the channel when he's doing an in ring promo or wrestling. What's the point. . . I already know who's going to win . . . he will or he'll lose after he's beatin by 10 guys. The strap needs to be placed on another. I still have a shread of hope that Trips will lose it to Goldberg at Summerslam. Alas I know that it will only be for one pay-per-view as the way it was with The Show Stopper. Cheers

meanSpleen 07-21-2003 09:21 PM

Spleens Raw Review

Oh man... what a boring show... Heres a run down of everything that I watched -

Gail Kim and Trish lost to Victoria and Molly. Ow. Wee... ooo... snore.

Randy over Val. snore.

I think Jericho beat Michaels... yup... he did. Snnnxxx...
=====

That was about all I watched. oh man, that was some boring stuff. Shoot. Kane should squash RVD. Otherwise, he isn't going to go over too well with the crowd.

buclao 07-22-2003 11:57 AM

Top 3 best parts of RAW last night. (In descending order)

3. The way Jerry Lawler obviously thinks Coach sucks and doesn't want him in the announce booth. You can just see the frustration in the King's eyes.

2. When Kane tombstoned Linda McMahon. That segment just proved there is a God.

1. This might not be exact but this is pretty much what Lawler said,
Lawler: Oh, the Rockbo... Bookend on Test!

OH HELL YEAH!

I just read the spoilers for RAW from last night, and it looks like Hurricane and Rosie WILL be teaming up!! Score one for the Spleen-man!!

rockzilla 07-22-2003 05:12 PM

As much as JR annoys me, at he has chemistry with The King. The Lawler/Coach team consists of Coach saying something stupid and Lawler telling Coach that he's not JR.

Looks like the entire buildup to a Goldberg/HHH Summerslam match goes as follows :

HHH - "I-uh am-uh the game-uh"

Goldberg - "You're next"

Here's how the Summerslam match will go :

Spear-Jackhammer by Goldberg, HHH no-sells. Goldberg's out of moves and HHH hits the 'Pedigree out of Nowhere' for the win.

RAW has about a month to make it look like Goldberg has a chance, which he doesn't. And HHH will cement his status as "The greatest-uh of-uh all time-uh"

The best part of RAW was that it was Kevin Nash-free.

I was disappointed by the HBK-Y2J match, but I'm glad to see Jericho get the win over Michaels that he should have gotten at Wrestlemania. I'm guessing this'll just set up Orton-Michaels at Summerslam.

In Canada they can't show violence against women on TV so we couldnt see the tombstone :(

Mario 07-24-2003 07:03 AM

Hey guys, I'm sorry I have been away, I was too busy thinking of how bad Raw was...

Linda got Tombstoned, yea! See my previous comments about banned moves and Pete Rose.

Hurricane STILL only get like a minute of tv time. (which was more than Nash) But I see great things in his future, as long as they don't make the Natural Disasters part 2. Earthquake & Tsunami anyone? Hurricane and Monsoon maybe? Feh...

Really no great points, they buried Storm with Rob Reiner... wtf??

Austin went home, I was hoping he would come out as Mr. America, oh to dream... Bitchoff still sucks...

Orton has promise, I wonder if hes that much of a prick in real life or if he pulls it off real well. I pray for the day he turns on HHH, but do you think HHH will put him over? I say no.

Goldberg vs. HHH the battle of no sells. Goldberg will win though.

Oh yea, Stacy was hot and Booker was good. But the shows don't grab me as a must see stuff.

Until next time...

Ganguro 07-25-2003 06:19 AM

I missed about 30mins of the beginning of smackdown.. but from what i saw last night.. The only match im really looking forward to this weekend is the Stephanie/Sable match :)
Oh yeah.. and eddie/ benoit.

JohnnyRock 07-25-2003 07:46 AM

Too Much MCMAHON...can't believe that two McMahons are on the bill for V...and neither one is Shane O'Mac!!!

Eddie/Benoit will be great...slightly interested in the 3-way dance [would be better w/o the big slow!]

Other than that....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

meanSpleen 07-25-2003 01:20 PM

Missed Smackdown!! Oops!! :D
But after reading the synopsis (aka spoilers) I found out that I didn't miss too much, except a V1 Hardy match (dammit!!)

=====

Other news:

"WWE has expressed some interest in signing NWA-TNA stars Low Ki and The Amazing Red."

Woo!! Low Ki has a great reputation, based on what I have read and heard about. It would be great to see him in the ring with the other great technical wrestlers.

Amazing Red = Another High Flyer. Don't be put off that he does the 619, and calls it the 718. Mysterio says that he is proud to be emulated. Heck, we might as well need a High-Flyers belt just to keep up with all the... high flyers. (bad joke. don't need another belt. Ten is plenty.)

2 Heavyweight Champs
2 US Title/Intercontinental Title Champs
4 Tag Team Champs
1 Cruiserweight Champ
1 Womans Champ

SPLEEN'S VENGENCE PREDICTIONS

Lesnar vs Angle vs BigShmo
Lesnar will RETAIN the championship with BigShmo F-ing the entire match up, making it entirely unwatchable. See my previous statements about Big Show for reasons why.

Benoit vs Guerrero
Duh, Benoit wins the US title. Obviously.

VinnieMac vs Gowan
Gowan by disqualification. There is no way that VinnieMac is going to job to Gowan.

Taker vs Cena
Cena. Taker is getting old and needs to pass the torch on to someone else. Why Cena? He's done more cheesy promos than any other wrestler in recent memory. :D

McMaHHHon vs Sable
Uhh... Double Count Out. I don't know. Don't really care either. But, McMaHHHon will probaly win if a DoubleCountOut doesn't occur.

Gunn vs Noble
Noble will win, and get to sleep with Tori. Nidia is probably going to chair Noble so he is unconcious, and probably slam Tori as well. They will both be "sleeping" together in the middle of the ring because of this. Mr.Ass will realize that nobody likes him and will retire.

The Worlds Greatest Benjamin vs Mysterio/Kidman
Benjamin will RETAIN the championship, as Mysterio is impaled on a ringpost. Kidman will find out that he needs some character development and give Mysterio a shooting star press from the buildings rafters down to the ring.

The APA Barroom Brawl
Umm... yeah. Have you seen the list of competitors?

Bradshaw, Faarooq, OHaire, Kanyon, Rhyno, ATrain, Brooklyn Brawler, Doink, and Spanky.

Kanyon will be the first one eliminated, by Spanky (penis). Doink will realize that he used to have a career and eliminate ATrain. Rhyno will Gore Faarooq, but will be eliminated by Bradshaw. At this point, everyone realizes that OHaire hasn't done anything, and Doink, Bradshaw, Faarooq, Penis and Brooklyn Brawler will all eliminate OHaire. Bradshaw and Faarooq team up and take out Doink while Spanky is elminated by Brawler.

Bradshaw, Faarooq and the Brawler will all look at each other, laugh, drink a beer and all pass out at the same time.

Yup

Either one of them would make a great champ, but Eddie's more over. He needs to cheat like hell to win the match, or snap after losing to shake his 'tweener' image. I'm picking Eddie, but he wins by cheating, they'll probably fight again at Summerslam.

Quote:

There's no way Gowan's getting a clean win, I'd even be surprised to see a DQ win. I'm picking Vince.

I hope Cena wins. He's been doing a great job with his gimmick and Taker has nothing to gain from winning this match. Cena wins with the chain.

Billy Ass will win as his consolation prize for not having Vince hand him the US Title (thank god). He should still realize that nobody likes him and retire though

Kidman has less character now than when he was with the Flock. They lose because they have to set that triple threat match up with Ultimo Dragon somehow.

Didn't they mention Brother Love too?

Before the match, Steph, or Vince or whoever's in charge announces that this barroom brawl will decide the #1 Contender for the world title. Doink wins it after a whole bunch of difficult-to-follow and annoying to watch table-breaking and bottle smashing.

Doink faces Lesnar next week on Smackdown for the title and wins with the help of his tiny manager 'Dink' (I still remember that guy), the SD Main event at Summerslam is then announced as Doink/Angle for the title in a 60min ironman match.

Pfffttt, the APA'll probably really win it.

holtmate 07-26-2003 09:15 PM

Hey! Maybe the Big Bossman will show up during the title match with Big Slow's father's coffin again, and we can all watch the Bossman drag the Slow and the coffin behind his car...well, that might make the match enjoyable...

I will be saving my $35.

*thinks*

I wonder if a friend would get it if I payed for pizza. :D

Master Fap 07-27-2003 04:31 PM

my friend said on the 7/17 showing there was a nipple slip and 7/24 showing of smackdown sables top was pulled off... anyone got pics or vids? hook it up!

holtmate 07-27-2003 07:48 PM

Well, just got back from watching Vengeance at BW-3's...glad I didn't have to pay for it. It was pretty bad, first, they burn off the US Title match, which should have been done later, it wasn't too bad. The rest of the matches were below average, and then Zack Gowen takes his leg off for his match against Vinnie Mac. I thought that was a pretty cool move for an otherwise bad match. Who's Vince going to wrestle next PPV? Christopher Reeve???
The title match wasn't too bad, even with Big Slow in it. Angle and Lesnar have some good chemistry in the ring. I would like to see thos two fighting for the title every month. It would have to be better than HHH defending...
Finally, the Summerslam commercial was the highlight of the PPV...Brock Lesnar giving an F-5 to a shark! Comic gold!

meanSpleen 07-27-2003 09:43 PM

Let it be known that I cannot see the future. That said, I was really, really off on my Vengence Predictions :)

I was only right when I said that Noble and The Worlds Greatest Benjamin would win. I was completely wrong on every other count. OOPS.

Oh well, at least Kurt is the champ. Hell, I'd be happy if Spanky (Penis) had the title instead of BigShmo. Hah. Anyway, yeah, good for Kurt. Now lets get Lesnar and Angle fueding for REAL!! Brock, go heel dammit!!

Ganguro 07-28-2003 10:44 AM

heel brock, now that he can talk on his own, whould be pretty interesti9ng. I found out that if i wanted to watch wrestling PPV's for free in this town i would have to go to a strip club to see it. Needless to say.. i pussied out, but summerslam i'll be there! (well..if i cant go to summerslam in person. i'm trying to talk phred into letting me sleep on his couch for a weekend)

From reading the results it seemed like a pretty HO-HUM event..

rockzilla 07-28-2003 09:12 PM

RAW had nothing redeeming going for it until the last few segments. The Hurricane/Rosey bit was classic, I never thought that The Hurricane's Hurri-Powers could have made me want to see the half of 3 Minute Warning that didn't get fired.
Molly Holly won the title, that's good.
Then, the triumphant return Shane-O-Mac, he punched Vince out to get to Kane and then chaired the piss out him, I marked out like a hillbilly.

I ended up missing Vengeance, but I'm sure I'll see the Eddie/Benoit match sooner or later, and Brock F-5ing the shark, that's the real hi-lite of the night.

bondagegirl 07-28-2003 11:46 PM

SHANE!!!! SHANE!!!!! Shane O'Mac is back!!!!! WOO HOO! Well that was the only good thing about Raw tonight! woo hoo Shane! I'm so happy, maybe I'll start watching Raw again regularly! OH and what the hell is up with that match between Goldberg and Ric Flair next week, There is a prime example of misuse of talent... Rock hard Goldberg against fuckin flabby 50 year old RIC FLAIR!!!!! GRRRR ok well I'm going to go back to my happy dance knowing that shane is back!!!!

About damn time my favorite McMahon returned. Straight up baller.

Mario 07-29-2003 06:54 AM

Raw was the best in a while.

The Highlight reel was awesome, HBK was right on the money.
Randy Orton, Y2J, HBK, 3 way at Summer Slam??

La Resistance again proved they dominate the tag team division.

Hurricane and the S.H.I.T. need to get in the ring every once and a while, but very funny stuff.

Shane was awesome, who didn't love seeing him in action one more time. His match with Kane, expect some stipulation, cage or Hell in a cell.

SummerSlam is turning into a must see.

gduventree 07-29-2003 04:42 PM

Hey Everybody, RAW is coming to my home town of Vancouver, BC next Monday! Any other TFPer's out there that'll be attending the show?

Showtime 07-30-2003 09:22 PM

I wonder if Shane will do the "Which Way Did Shane Go" thing again like he did with Big Show.

Daval 07-31-2003 06:49 AM

I'm so looking forward to Shane promo's :)

holtmate 07-31-2003 07:07 PM

I just hope we have a Brock Angle rematch for Summerslam...
And, it will be great if Shane-O does the Big Show thing for Kane, too...those were the days...hehe

rockzilla 08-01-2003 03:43 PM

I want Shane to bring back the Mean Street Posse.

Couple things from Smackdown

Rhyno shouldn't be allowed any more mic time, hopefully they'll put Paul Heyman back on TV when he's recovered from his neck problems. Rhyno could only benefit from having Heyman speak for him.

Torrie/Ass & Noble/Nidia in some freaky sex party? I sure hope this doesn't turn into a swinger-themed tag team.

Lesnar/Vince in a cage with Angle as the ref? Which one will turn heel?

Speaking of Lesnar, we got to see Brock F-5 the shark in the Summerslam promo, it's as funny as I dreamed it would be.

After beating on Zack Gowen, I wonder if V1 Hardy will be the first guy to do a straight up J-O-B to the one-legged wonder?

fartre 08-05-2003 06:04 PM

Cross off Goldberg from the main event at summerslam...looks like he rubbed vinne mac the wrong way (AGAIN!)

rockzilla 08-05-2003 07:56 PM

I think it has more to do with HHH's supposed hernia. HHH probably wasn't going to drop the title to Goldberg, until he got hurt. Now, HHH probably has to drop the title so he can go off to recover (Yeeeee Hawwwwww!). But, God forbid he look weaker than anybody on the roster, so the only way he can lose is to 5 other guys.

meanSpleen 08-05-2003 09:25 PM

Ug, connection problems kept me away and silent.

I was happy with this past weeks RAW and last weeks smackdown. Good stuff. I really can't comment to much, because I'm not looking at the spoilers. In other words, I have no clue what went down last week even though I saw both shows. ;)

What I DO remember, based on what everone else (aka fartre and rockzilla):

NOT THE ELIMINATION CHAMBER!!!
That is the ugliest piece of ring crap I have ever seen. It it too large, and is hard to see though if you are anywhere beyond the 5th row in the crowd. Junk. If HHH HHHas HHHis way, HHHe'll be tHHHe last one to enter the ring.

Oh yeah, it was good to see Shane'o again. I missed him last week.

AND I AM AN OFFICIAL S.H.I.T!!!

gduventree 08-06-2003 08:58 AM

A few notes from ring-side at the RAW show:

- nobody cheered for Goldberg. Ric Flair was so over with the crowd it was funny. Flair got cheered every time he pulled a move off on Goldberg.

- RVD vs. Jericho was the match of the night. They worked their asses off. Although there was that one missed spot (Jericho trying to catch RVD in a sleeper off the ropes), the wrestling in this match was by far better than anything else on the card.

This was the first time I've been to a televised show, and man it was so much better than their regular house shows. The only thing I missed was not being able to hear the commentary from Jerry Lawler and Coach. Sitting through the commercial breaks was a little weird, too; the show just stops for two minutes. I just wish it had been Smackdown that came to town instead of RAW.

Blu2e354 08-06-2003 09:08 AM

Elimanation chamber is a big piece of crap. The only only person gowen should beat is al snow or maven. If kane can't be stopped by 10 police officers shane should'nt be beating him up at all. the torrie wilson/noble thing was stupid.

Mattitude rules

So when they air a commercial right in the middle of a match, it stops? Or do they just stop the show when there is nothing going on? :D

I was hoping that Lance Storm would hook up with Rico. Alas, we are left with Goldust... WOOHOO!!!

It will be good to see him back on camera. He has been a longtime favorite based on his in-ring personality and ring-work. That, and he's going to be World HHHeavyweight Champ someday. I just know it.

Him and Lance. A barrel of fun!

Sorry, guys. My friends and I got our tickets late, so we were stuck way up high in the nosebleed section, to the right of the Titantron. Good view of all the junk behind it, though :p No signage to speak of.

None of the matches stopped in the middle, so if they aired commercials during a match then I got to see stuff all you people in TV land didn't get to see. Between matches, though, they pretty much stop the show as only the ring crew guys were busy mopping up sweat off the mat.

You missed not being able to hear Coach?!!? When I'm watching at home, "mute" isn't silent enough for Coach.

JoeyB 08-06-2003 05:34 PM

I agree that the sudden 6 way Elimination Chamber match is disappointing, although I certainly understand why something needed to be done.

WWE obviously isn't confident in Goldberg and HHH has a strained Hunter.

With that in mind, who leaves the cage as champion?? I don't see either of them taking it because of those challenges I mentioned.

Can anyone make a strong case for anyone else???

Torrie Wilson is hot!! Same for Stacy Keibler!!!

Whatcha gonna do when these pythons run over you??

My all-time favs:
Hogan (original Hulkamania)
Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
The Big Boss Man
The Ultimate Warrior
Ted Debiasse
Jake "The Snake" Roberts and
The Rock

Hmm, I guess what I meant to say was the running commentary in general. I haven't had the chance to watch since JR's been off the air, so I don't really have an idea of how bad Coach really is.

meanSpleen 08-07-2003 04:17 PM

How bad the Coach really is:

1) He doesn't know any of the names to any moves, except the finishers

2) He can't even get the finishers names to the right person (Booker T gave a Rock Bottom instead of a Bookend). Could have been someone else saying that, but hey, great example

3) Play By Play involves more than saying, "He's up! Slammed! One, Two, Hey JR, whats for Lunch?"

4) Boobs! Get over it.

5) Can't get the storylines right

6) No chemistry with anyone.

scoobydugan 08-07-2003 08:52 PM

Well seeing that I stopped watching the WWE when I began wrestling ~2 1/2 years ago , i really have no idea what's been going on. All I know is that Goldberg isn't going to be around very long, and Hunter is up to his usual games. If anyone deserves the title it's me! Or my friend LIVEWYRE that just signed a developemental deal, should be on TV soon...peace

Prophecy 08-08-2003 06:10 PM

Question, what did ppl think about the Vinnie Mac and Brock working together now on Smackdown? I rarely have time to watch it but I saw the end and that was a little different. But it does remind me of the old storyline with The Rock.

Spleen's RAW Review:

First - the highlights of everything that just sucked.

The Coach sucks. Good to see him crawl back into his kush Heat job.

Scott Steiner sucks. Hell, he makes Test look good. Rico did okay, jackie did alright.

La Ouisistance sucks. Or, just Grenier does. Holy crap, he's super bloated, or really needed to take a crap tonight. The guy's gut was enormous!!

Booker T sucks. Couldn't he have waited one more day to lose the title on a Televised event? I mean, seriously. If he has back problems (and he does), it would have been so much more fun to see him squirm in agony in the middle of the ring, while I watch from my sofa. Its the American way!

TripleHHHo's new commercial for that power drink sucks. I will never buy anytHHHing, just because TripleHHHo tells me to. THHHat guy can't see me water.

Gail Kim sucks. She F-ed up a slingshot over the ropes and literally landed on her face. I've seen her screw up more in the womens matches than any other female (aside from Miss Kitten and Sable)

The good points of the show

The Hurricane and Rosie. :D

Jericho. :D

Ganguro 08-12-2003 05:47 AM

someone's a little biased..
you were all on Gail's jock when she debuted.
That being said.. i WAS excited about possibly going to summerslam, but now im just going to save the cash and possibly just read the recaps.. booo.. "evil brock" my ass..

Blu2e354 08-12-2003 05:17 PM

Angle is so much better as a hell than he is aface but the same goes for lesnar he should never speak. I think lesnar needs a manager

Maveric 08-12-2003 05:48 PM

too bad, i really enjoyed the face vs face rivalry brock and angle had....
/thinks back to when Angle bet Brock he couldn't do 300 push ups, brock busted his guts doin' it and then Angle said... "ok you win" and walked off laughing :D

meanSpleen 08-12-2003 08:23 PM

Ganguro - its not that I don't like seeing her. She has a ton of hair. She has some good moves too. But she just keeps blowing spots!!

Its horrible!

=====

Some guy, some site, i forgot. Wrote that Chyna and Sean Waltman (Sixx, x-pac, 123 kid, etc) are legally not allowed to be near each other :) Chyna got a restraining order against him. HAH!! :D

holtmate 08-14-2003 07:03 PM

I am glad to see Brock as a heel...I did not see that one coming. All signs pointed to Angle, so I guess I was suckered like I was supposed to be. :D
Hurricane & Rosie...classic! almost on par with Al Snow and "Trance Master" Steve Blackman.
Prophecy - A couple of years ago, ShaneO was feuding with the Big Slow, and kept taunting him with lines like "Which way did he go?" ala Looney Tunes.
After hearing that Trips is injured, I understand the Chamber...still don't like it, though. At least HHH probably won't be walking out of there with the title.
meanspleen...weren't Chyna and Pac supposed to be married?

baaa 08-15-2003 09:44 AM

I haven't been watching it that much latley but has anyone else noticed the size of the black guys johnson, on the old team angle (I don't thing they are called that anymore)

bondagegirl 08-15-2003 11:26 AM

I'd be so stoked if they canned the match with Shane O and bischoff. Then take Nash and/or Michaels out, Then put Shane in the chamber. I'd get the pay per view just for that. This is another mis use of talent (not mentioning the awful match between goldberg and ric flair last week), They bring back a crowd favorite that can literally kick some ass and they put him with fuckin ERIC BISCHOFF! WTF is going on in the minds of the WWE guys? Seriously... Do they think this match will actually boost ratings? HA
I love this thread, it lets me vent whenever I need it, and it seems like I've needed to a lot more lately! :D

meanSpleen 08-16-2003 09:46 AM

Actually, I think the Shane-o vs. Bitchoff match is a GOOD idea. Its just not played out correctly.

I think the writing team is just barely eluding to the fact that Shane-o was the first WWF/E persona to appear on WCW's Nitro. When the RAW/Nitro dualcast happened, it was all Shane-o all the time. Even though Bitchoff wasn't there at the time, anyone who saw a Nitro show would at least know of him. So this would be some sort of closer, of the old and new or something.

So anyway, thats my explanation for the Shane-o/Bitchoff angle. And based on all of Shane-o's promos, especially right when Bitchoff was being brought into RAW, he's never had anything good to say. "Parasite" this, and "Destroyer" that. :)

meanSpleen 08-17-2003 03:11 PM

Okay, I finally decided to put up my new "Favorite Current Wrestlers" list.

My old one was:
The Hurricane
Matt Hardy
Kurt Angle
Chris Nowinski

======

DA NU LIST!!

1) Still the Hurricane. I'm one of his S.H.I.T's :)
2) Matt Hardy. I'm a major M.F'er. :)
3) Kurt Angle. SUCK!!! :)
4) Shelton Benjamin. This should be a suprise, for anyone who has read my posts.
5) Chris Jericho. Heck, he should be higher on the list, but I'm pissed that he doesn't have any TRUE WWE gold. But I'm looking forward to him to possibly walk away from the Elimination Chamber with the belt.

I see!! Okay, that is kinda funny and whatever happened to The Rock? I miss the thing he and Y2J had going on for a while, that was down right funny. As far as the Chamber and HHH goes,
1)I hope HHH can drop the belt and be gone for a decent amount of time
2) Nash-hole gets smacked around by Y2J
3)HBK superkicks the hell out of HHH
4)Y2J leaves with the gold :)

I don't expect it to happen, but hell a guy can wish can he?

oh and what is up with the hair vs hair match? that just sounds like a stupid idea all around to me... Bring back something fun like the pig pen match or the casket match a la The Undertaker, or the Four corners match... You know the one where they tie the guys together with a strap and in order to win, u have to tag all fours corners without being interrupted.

BigGov 08-17-2003 07:20 PM

Man, I miss the good ol' days of the ECW. None of these useless gimick matches like that elimination chamber. None of the garbage where one wrestler is the best and can't even possibly be defeated (see Triple H).

Oh, that and actual entertaining matches. Bishoff and McMahon headline over guys like RVD and Tommy Dreamer?

I'll take a cheap bingo hall anyday.

meanSpleen 08-17-2003 07:26 PM

Prophecy -

HHH will drop the title in the chamber. Not only is he playing injured on screen, but he's injured in real life. So unless this is some huge joke the creative team is playing, then we will have a new Heavyweight Champion on RAW. Woooo!!!

Oh yeah... GO Y2J!!!!

Prophecy 08-17-2003 07:46 PM

So what did he hurt? I remember the problem he had with his knee a while back, he torn the ligaments or something. He reinjure that?

JohnnyRock 08-18-2003 11:59 AM

I think it's a groin this time...but whatever....I am a big HHH fan--at least I was until he blew up so big from juicing that he can't keep his shit from popping...

BTW, isn't Steph looking more like Chyna [bloated, bigger, more manly] every week? Must be HHH's influence.

holtmate 08-18-2003 04:06 PM

I like the fact that they're using the Elimination Chamber again, since HHH really got hurt the last time they used it, too. Great idea!
Now we get to see the hair vs hair action tonight! It can't be as good as the Edge/Angle hair match, though. Now that was a fun match, and then there was all of the running around backstage.
That reminds me...they need to bring back the Hardcore title with the 24/7 rule. That was always good for some laughs, and some good matches, too.

Aanyankah 08-18-2003 08:08 PM

I stopped watching WWE for a while, but since Australian pay tv has finally brought the whole lot back I'm into it again.

Has Stephanie McMahon had some sort of plastic surgery in the last few months, or did I just never pay much attention to her before (Smackdown hasn't been on here for ages)?

JohnnyRock 08-19-2003 09:28 AM

she got her boobs done about a year ago, but they seem even bigger now--but so does the rest of her...pertty sure she is dabbling in the same "energy drink" as HHH

JohnnyRock 08-19-2003 09:31 AM

Good show last night...hair match was OK...Y2J did a good job of carrying Oz, um Vinny Vegas, Um Diesel, Um Nash...Really hot end to the whole show with an old-school feel to get some much needed heat for the PPV...not sure I get the whole French team thing, but if it means the Duds kicking some ass on Sunday I'm all for it...lastly Keep test and Steiner off my TV [they can keep Stacy too...plenty of hotter chicks than her running around wwe]

Aanyankah 08-19-2003 01:29 PM

At least Stacy isn't a muscle machine. o_O

I recorded the last part of Raw so I haven't seen the end yet.

I noticed Stephanie's boobs, but her face seems to have changed shape as well.

Oh, there was one point in the hair vs. hair match where Jericho looked SO much like HHH. And I don't like HHH so I was a bit disturbed...

JohnnyRock 08-20-2003 08:17 AM

I know what u mean about Steph's face...that's why I think she's juicing--or more likely doing GH. I honeslty think the point of the Hair vs. hair match was that Nash wanted a haircut...it helped build a little heat for the two of them for the PPV, but not enough to get people oto shell out $$$...btw, I think it comes down to the two of them for the title...my money is on Jericho, but McMahon loves the big men...

Aanyankah 08-20-2003 01:18 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if Nash cuts Jericho's hair at the PPV. I think that would leave HHH as the last long haired one in Raw at the moment? Unless I'm forgetting someone...

meanSpleen 08-20-2003 07:35 PM

Nash got a haircut because:
a) He's going grey really fast, and dying it just isn't working
b) He has a part in a movie that requires him to have shorter hair
-and-
c) He looks really really old. :D

====

I'm glad that Test has Keibler again. Hell, I can safely say that Test does not suck as much as Steiner. I was almost fooled by the leg stunt that Test did on Monday, Crossed Arms of the ref almost made it believable (when the referee hold up both arm, crossed, it means a real injury has occured, and the medical team (the real one) is needed immediately.)

But what I noticed is that we never went to commercial. Usually, when someone is really injured on non-PPV events, they always cut to a commercial and just show some highlights of the injury whenthey come back. Heck, most of the time the stars just wrestle the rest of the match injured.

Oh well, I'll give Test 3 out of 4 stars for his performance. Good job.

JohnnyRock 08-21-2003 09:20 AM

heard the haircut was because he's playing Tomstone in the punisher...

meanSpleen 08-21-2003 09:27 PM

okay, no thoughts on Smackdown. I thought I pretty much sucked as a whole. Oh well. :(

=====

SummerSlam!!!!
Hmm, lets see who my picks are:

Kane/RVD - Kane, in a big way. RVD's been going downhill for the past few months, and nothing is going to save him now. Besides, Kane just got a new character. Why would they want to show the world that it (the character) sucks?

Shaneo/Bitchoff - Shaneo!!! Duh. Please.

La Ouisistance/Dudley Boyz - Well, the Frenchies are going to win. With Rob Conway in their corner (That fake military guy from monday), they have the best odds. If they don't win, they will lose by DQ as they bury the Dudleyz again with the flag.

Angle/Lesnar - Haven't we seen this match before? Oh yeah, the past 6 PPV's. Oh well. Lesnar wins, and takes the belt home.

Taker/ATrain - Taker. If he isn't going to lose to Cena, there is to way in heck he is going to lose to ATrain. Boooo.

Guerrero/Benoit/Rhyno/Tajiri - Well, Rhyno isn't going to win it, because he sucks. Taijiri isn't going to win, because he's Asian (Hey, i'm just pointing out the obvious right now). So we have to chose between Benoit and Guerrero for the belt. I have my bets on Guerrero to keep the belt, even though I think Benoit should have it. Guerrero wins.

V1 Hardy/Gowan - Gowan wins! V1 does the right thing, and gives Gowan a major push up the ranks. Hell, this is why V1 is on my favorite wrestlers list. He's just plain awesome.

ELIMINATION CHAMBER - Jericho!! Nuff said.

brandon11983 08-22-2003 02:24 PM

Anyone else cringe at the Brock/Gowan match from Smackdown?? That was pretty gruesome. More so than any Hell in a Cell, falling on tacks, running into steel fence, getting hit in the face with barbed wire shit. That kid done got fucked up.

Infinite Hybrid 08-22-2003 06:33 PM

Yeah I saw thought match, if you can call it a match. Also if anyone was watching on UPN they turned the screen black and white during the gruesome parts and when Brock knocked Gowan out of the strecher, they even blurred the screen so you couldn't see it.

meanSpleen 08-22-2003 06:43 PM

Actually, I think those were just camera problems. They kept switching camera views because each one was progressively worse. The one with the best camera angle was the bluriest (blur-e-ist, sorry, can't spell). The one on Lesnar was the one from the ring. I don't know. All I do know is that Gowan bleeds like heck.

I was watching it on UPN, and don't remember any times when they blacked out the screen. And Gowan DOES bleed like hell. More so than anyone I've ever seen.

meanSpleen 08-23-2003 09:21 PM

I just thought about something...

Spanky (Penis) and Gowan are going to get HUGE pops when they return from the injuries incurred at the hands of Lesnar. Maybe this is the WWEs way of actually using Spanky. I mean, whenever someone gets injured, they always come back to huge reactions, and they (generally) do some better stuff then they were doing than pre-injury.

Just some rambling.

========

The V1 Hardy vs. Gowan match at summerslam has been scrapped. Seemings like Gowan really is injured... or else they had already planned this

=========

Watching Velocity, and they showed highlights of the Lesnar/Gowan squash. All the video was clear and in color. It may have just been a Los Angeles thing. I don't know. Whatever. It was fun watching Lesnar have Gowan on his shoulders for the F5, and you can see the blood dripping off Gowan like someone was squeezing a wet sponge.

THE RESULTS OF SUMMERSLAM

(I got the results from the "live" virtual feed (text only) from pwtorch.com) - http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publis...cle_5029.shtml

- La Ouisistance beat the Dudleys.
Score one for me, I got this one right ;)

- Taker beat ATrain.
TWO TWO!! I'm on a roll!

- ShaneoMac beat Bitchoff
3 3 3. Thats a green Jelly album. oh yeah, i got that too.

- Eddie beat Benoit, Rhyno, Tajiri
Well, aren't I psychic or something, no one should legally be this good.

- Angle beat Lesnar.
Dang. There goes my streak. Dangit. GO ANGLE!!!

- Kane beat RVD.
Please. Wasn't this obvious. I'm back on track :)

- Triple Ho beat Goldberg, Jericho, Michaels, Nash, Orton.
Uh... what the hell. hmm...

=====

Well, I was right on with all but 2 matches. Thats a lot better than my previous PPV predictions. :D

Prophecy 08-25-2003 10:20 AM

I thought HHH was supposed to drop the title? what gives?! What happened to Y2J!!!

gduventree 08-25-2003 02:38 PM

Wow, they kept the title on the guy who's supposed to be injured and hasn't wrestled in weeks? Brutal.

BTW, how was the match? Did HHH look like he was injured or did he wrestle like he was at 100%?

holtmate 08-25-2003 04:01 PM

I wasn't disappointed with the Elimination (Evolution) chamber match, but it wasn't anything spectacular. HHHHHHHH sat most of the match out, and let Goldberg destroy everyone. I did enjoy the spear through the booth, though.
All in all, it wasn't a bad PPV, other than the 'Taker match...

Prophecy 08-25-2003 07:11 PM

I think I read somewhere HBK superkicked HHH and after that HHH ran off and hide till it got down to Goldberg and HHH.

Oh, what did you guys like Kain getting burned (again??)

Reese 08-26-2003 10:40 AM

HHH is the reason I don't buy PPVs anymore. He hasn't had a legitiment match in 3 years. Everything ends with a sledgehammer, or 3 of his closest friends beating the hell out of someone. Vince and the rest of those idiots need to get their lips off his ass and kick him out of the frickin company. Just don't give the frickin title to goldberg unless he turns heel.

Is it just me or has brock changed the F5 to drop them on their back instead of stomach? I first noticed he would drop only big show on his back while everyone else got their face planted, then he started dropping everyone else on their backs. It just looks weak now. Although it's probably alot safer.

Aaron0000 08-27-2003 12:45 AM

Anybody into the Smackdown games for the PS2? I always cant wait for them to come out and then I play them for like a month and want to sell them. Im hoping the new one is much better, because I know Im not going to be able to resist buying it.

Kaos 08-27-2003 08:28 AM

The Second Elimination Chamber was terrible...a couple good spots, but otherwise terrible. I knew 5 minutes into it that it wasn't going to be even close to as good as the first one.

DownwardSpiral 08-29-2003 03:57 PM

Yes, the second Elimination Chamber was awful. WWE needs to get some new ideas fast. I do like the idea of them giving the 'Taker a push. 'Taker is just great. I don't know if anyone has posted anything about this but. . . who else thinks taking Kane's mask off was a bad idea? I think it was horrible, personally. I didn't plan on ever seeing Dr. Isaac Yankem, DDS.' face again. Kane is kinda boring now. Then again, te whole RVD/Kane team was boring too.

Prophecy 08-30-2003 07:52 PM

As far as wrestling games go, most of then stink. The latest game in the works is another RAW based game called RAW 2. However if u want a good wrestling game looks a WCW vs NWO revenage by the developer AKI. they make the best games in the genre.
