Well, they are a big team and VinnieMac has always loved the big guys regardless of their workrate...so I'd put them going over--although I've heard that Cena and Benoit turns may come before then throwing the whole thing for a loop...

Prophecy 10-31-2003 08:15 PM

Yea, but size isn't everything. Big Slow looks like he's about to pass out in half of his matches though, he has looked better lately though. The Rock had the Big Show's character dead on when did his impersation way back when.

And I'm not sure why but I just don't like Brock, I didn't like him when he was a face and I don't like him now. And I don't like him in the way Meanspleen doesn't like Big Show, I see Brock, the station gets changed.

As for the rest of the "Big" guys what have they done to deserve a match in the main event at survior series anyway? There are plenty of other mid-cards that should be there instead.

Lastly, what happened to Sean O'Haire?

meanSpleen 10-31-2003 11:56 PM

OHaire is a Smackdown player. He's just not being written into any storylines because the writers have no idea what to do with him. Originally, (after the "but I'm not telling you" idea), he was to be Roddy Pipers protege. As we all know, that fell through the pavement. Oh yeah, and he's former WCW. The "other" Jeff Hardy. What? Yes. He uses the Seanton Bomb as a finisher.

Big Guys. They get massive pushes because, as JohnnyRock said, VinnieMac loves them. Supposedly, they look better on camera because they are "Bigger than Life!". Right. Its nice to see guys doing their job. But its even better when we get to see guys that do it better than them.

Deserving a Match at survivor series - well, one, its a survivor series match. Lets face it, its not really the top match format on anyones list (unless you are into what is basically a 10 man tag tournament that gets turned into a 3v5, 3v1 then 1v1 match). I'm going out on a line to say that there are NO outstanding survior series elimination matchs except for the Hart's. Where Owen turned heel. Its really a step down for a lot of guys, in my mind. It means that they cannot hold a crowd on their own anymore.

Pushes: Big guys get them. Two of them are getting huge ones at SSeries. Why? Who knows. Lets just hope they aren't as bad as we think they will be.

=====

Spleens Championship Match Preference (Brands consolidated); ranked favorite, to least liked.

1) Tag Titles
2) Tied: Cruiserweight and US/Intercontinental
3) World Heavyweight
4) Womans

These are ranked solely on GOOD Championship matches. This has no sway on who is what, and where. (aka, all the midcard guys that don't get a chance). I would rather see a good tag team championship match than a good world heavyweight title match.

Prophecy 11-03-2003 11:06 AM

I just released this is the biggest thread in the Entertainment forum, props for us :)

That aside, several of you guys mentioned the new Smackdown game for the PS2, anyone have it?

Lastly, the main event on Raw tonight is Mark Henry vs. HBK. What ever happened to HBK's back injury? Wouldn't a match with someone like Mark Henry's character who's main moves require tossing someone around the ring onto his back be bad idea here?

Spleen I agree with Champion Match Preference list, but I'd put any men's match before the women's matches even if the men's match is non-title. The women are great to look at, but the matches themselves can be pretty hard to watch.

I just got it the other day. It was well worth the buy. I really like the enhanced grappling system they put in there. And being able to unlock legends i thought was a cool idea.

Nah, that's kinda like the neck injury situation w/ many superstars in WWE I think, once it's healed and all it may be weaker but it's nothing they cant handle. If they couldent handle it they wouldent be doing it.

I completely agree, women's matches do not reflect their looks, to say the least. In other words, they may look good, but their matches dont.

Very true, great upgrades over it's predecessors. Awesome game.

So, this John Heidenreich guy on Raw keeps mentioning his Little Johnny. Any bets on whether or not that refers to his penis? I mean, knowing Vince....
Anybody have anything on the rumors about Matt Hardy being traded to Raw? He could walk into a program with Christian and put on some killer matches and would make an ideal IC champion. It's a shame all they want to let him do on Smackdown recently is beat on crippled kids.

Prophecy 11-04-2003 08:24 PM

I figure Little Johnny is his kid. I know it sounds like something else but that's what the WWE likes to do.

He's probably talking about some cruiserweight, or a midget. ;D

As for VEE-ONE-NAHHHHHH, yeah, i heard the rumors too. I figure its common knowledge that Lita and Matt are together, so this Christian thing couldn't have come at a better time. I mean, the guy is practically rubbing himself all over Lita. So V1 gets to play knight in shining armor and whup some sense into Christian.

I am a Mattitude follower first, then a Peep. ;)

Lockwood passed away earlier today at approximately 1 p.m. EST at the home of good friend Steven Richards in Florida. Both had traveled together while Lockwood was still employed by WWE.

There are reports circulating that he may have choked on his own vomit, but those have yet to be confirmed. He was only 34 years old.

JohnnyRock 11-07-2003 09:52 AM

Well, it is on WWE.com. But since I never go there, I'll give you the link to where I did find it. http://www.steveswrestling.com/news/2407.html

Hey, I missed the last half of Smackdown last night. (intentionally I might add)

Was the VinnieMac "I'm the son of God" promo that whacked up as I've been reading about?

JohnnyRock 11-08-2003 06:29 AM

Thanks...not sure about smackdown either [blew it off] but it soure sounds it from what I've been hearing and reading...

meanSpleen 11-10-2003 07:57 PM

Its that time of the month again... ITS NOT MY PERIOD.

Its PPV time! and that means, you get to read my guesses at who will win at Survivor Series, 2003!!!

=====

Survivor Series Match:
Team Austin vs. Team Bischoff.
Okay, I'll be blunt. I'm not looking forward to this match. Austins team will win, he'll be able to beat the crap outta anyone he wants, and thats that.
Winner: Team Austin when Booker T gives the Bookend to Christian and the pin.

Team Angle vs. Team Lesnar.
Now this one should be interesting. Team Lesnar, even though it has 2 of the most useless bags of crap on it (a-train, big shmo), it has 2 pretty much unknown talent. Sure, we all know nathan jones, but now he's back with muscular definition and no Undertaker!! On Angles side, we get to see John Cena as the newest Babyface to grace your screen, a new and improved (albeit pissyer) Hardcore Holly, Angle and Benoit. This should be a very intense match, between POWER and (a good amount of) TECHNIQUE.

Winner: Team Angle. Hardcore Holly, who has been eliminated, returns to the ring and (behind the ref's back) causes Angle to pin Lesnar. Both Angle and Lesnar are unconscious.

-----

Goldberg vs. HHH for the Worlds Title.

I don't care. Winner: Goldberg.

-----

Undertaker vs. VinnieMac - Buried Alive.

Hmm.. I'm actually going to side with VinnieMac on this one. He will cheat, of course, and Undertaker gets buried.

Winner: VinnieMac.
BUT - Since Undertake will "die", he will return as the TRUE phenom and be the cool and neato Goth Undertaker again. No more of this Biker bull-crap. Anyone remember Skull and 8-Ball? They lasted about as long as Savio Vegas stable (whom they were 'feuding' with)

-----

Ambulance Match - Kane vs. ShaneoMac.
Oddly, I don't care about this one either... this must be a trend. I don't give a poop about any of the Raw matches.

Winner: ShaneoMac. And end storyline. Please.

-----

Taijiri vs. Jaime "BY GOD" Noble for the cruiserweight title.

Ehh... I'm rooting for Noble to win this one. It would be good to see him as the champ again.

WInner: Jaime Noble. REVENGE!!!!

-----

Molly Holly vs Lita for the womens title.

Wow, the only interesting RAW brand match. Sorta. Molly wins, and teaches Lita a lesson by straping on a dil.... straping on the belt and leaving the ring. ;)

Winner: Molly.

----

And thats all the matches that I am aware of! No Test vs. Steiner!

This would be utterly amazing if this happens. But of course I can see Stephanie M. coming back during this match and causing VinnieMac to lose and get buried. Hence the "Biker Taker" stays.

I have to agree with you on this one. I actually fell asleep about 20 minute into the show last night--first time that's happened in...ever. Raw needs a shake-up [unless I missed it last night, which I doubt!]

rockzilla 11-11-2003 10:36 AM

You didn't miss anything special. Just a bunch of matches between members of Team Austin and Team Bischoff. I think Randy Orton is going to cost Team Bischoff the SS match, he hasn't been getting along with the rest of the team, and it might set off a rumored Orton/HHH feud. Either that or Jericho will win it for Team Bischoff, setting up Jericho/Austin at WMXX. Somebody big needs to put Jericho over at Wrestlemania so that he has a chance of getting out of the midcard. Shawn Michaels should have done it last year, but he didn't.

DownwardSpiral 11-11-2003 07:05 PM

Also time for DownwardSpiral's Survivor Series 2003 predictions!

Team Bischoff vs. Team Austin

This is obvious, I think. Austin's team all the way. He won't be activly wresling anytime soon, and he's not the type to work backstage off the scene, so his team will win, and Coach will get his ass kicked (finally.)

Winner: Team Austin

Team Angle vs. Team Lesnar

Team Angle is gonna take this I think. They have been getting beat on the past 2-3 weeks or so on SmackDown! So they're due for some revenge.

Winner: Team Angle

Buried Alive: Undertaker vs. Vince McMahon

Rumor has it that 'Taker will lose, and then come back later as his old 'Lord of Darkness' gimmick. But keep in mind that this rumor has been stated before, so no telling if it's gonna happen. I'm gonna have to go with 'Taker on this one though, I just can't think he would drop a match to Vince McMahon, but you never know.

Winner: Undertaker

Molly Holly vs. Lita (Women's Championship)

Lita is gonna take this one I believe.

Winner: Lita; New Women's Champion

Jamie Noble vs. Tajiri (Cruiserweight Championship)

I'm going with Tajiri on this one too, rumor also has it that Vince is happy with Tajiri, safe to say he's in a better position than Rhyno.

Winner: Tajiri; retains Cruiserweight Championship

Ambulance Match: Shane McMahon vs. Kane

Shane will pull this one out of his ass somehow, almost a given there.

Winner: Shane McMahon

Goldberg vs. Triple H (World Heavyweight Championship)

Goldberg will win. He hasn't been Champ long enough yet. Gonna take Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and a taser gun again! (Had to bring back an old WCW memory lol)

Winner: Goldberg; retains World Championship

There you have it, my predictions! Watch as I am off on all of them!

Until we meet again. . .

BTW, anyone else hear that rumor about WWE oficias being upset by the increasing amount of superstars having big tattoos on their bodies? Lol, found it odd, maybe you will too.

meanSpleen 11-11-2003 07:20 PM

I'm just glad that Brock Lesnar got a tan. Or a tan in a can, or whatever. He was too white. I could care less about the Tattos, but I can see the officials concerns. I mean, this is family entertainment, is a way. We don't need to be bombarded with 15 guys with HUGE things on thier backs (Brock, Rey, Batista, Atrain)

....

Paying attention? hehehehe

Prophecy 11-14-2003 07:26 AM

Did anything worth while happen on smackdown last night? I was busy and missed the show :(

meanSpleen 11-14-2003 08:01 AM

The biggest thing you missed was John Cena pointing out Method Man, who was sitting in the front row.

Otherwise:
John Cena joined Team Angle
Unaired - John Cena F-U'ed Benoit.
Unaired - Hardcore Holly and Brock went at it.
VinnieMac cut another promo... it was really really really bad. It involved a priest or something... and he can't act.

And probably the best match of the night:
Akira and Sakata (Jimmy Yang and Keiji Sekoda) beat Rey Mysterio and Jaime Noble. There was only 2-3 screwups (moves that didn't go as fluidly as you would want) but it was still a great match. As it turns out, Sakata is even bigger (in muscular build) when he takes off his jacket. That guy is HUGE. (for an Asian, and for being shorter than average). Akira did a nice move where one of the other guys was in the corner. AKira ran straight at him, and basically walked up his chest and face into a backflip and landed on his feet. It was mostly for show, as he was laid out with a clothesline or something.

DownwardSpiral 11-15-2003 11:02 PM

New SS match added:

Los Gurerros vs. Bashams (WWE Tag Title)

I think that the Bashams will retain.

And on a side note: Damn that Michael Hayes and is screwing w/ the story! The whole Cena F-U'ing Benoit thing was a bad idea!

Ganguro 11-16-2003 07:12 AM

As much as i dislike vince for screwing over Tajiri time and time again; this "evil yakuza" storyline is giving him a nice little push and we're seeing cruiserweights on screen again. A nice sampling of cruiserweight, puro, and luchadore wrestling.. THANK GOD.. I was getting tired of "team sasquach" and big guys every week. 'll be missing this ppv again..because im too much of a chicken to go to a stripclub to watch it :(
The next one is here in vegas though.. i'll try to score some tickets if the card shapes up.

Right-on. Eddie n Chavo have no chance. Even though the Bashams aren't very photogenic, we just need a good solid team to lead the tag division while the Worlds Greatest Tag Team has Velocity duty.

Winners: Bashams.

Screw the Cena is the new Steve Austin plot. We've had more than enough Steve Austin clones. We just need a good solid babyface that has good mic skills.

Prophecy 11-16-2003 09:28 PM

Quick results on who eliminated who and how matches were won.

Total: Five of Eight Matches.

Prophecy 11-17-2003 10:28 AM

Spleen you were right VinnieMac won, I figure the Deadman(bye bye Biker) is going to come back like everyone mentioned and winds up taking on Kane once again at one the PPVs for his involvment in the Buried Alive match.

DownwardSpiral 11-17-2003 12:33 PM

They showed Tajiri/Noble on Heat? WTF is wrong w/ Vince? I was 4/8 it seems, looks like they're actually goingh through w/ the 'Taker thing this time. Maybe a show jump for Kane or 'Taker now too, considering Kane interfered. Austin's team losing really sucks because he can't really wrestle right now, although I heard he's gonna go promote his book anyway, but it'll be interesting to see how his angle develops in the upcoming weeks.

Lita and Christian together??? I hope Christrian tells her he's joking and really didn't get her job back :)

rockzilla 11-17-2003 09:24 PM

Yeah, I can't decide which part of RAW was better, the V1/Lita/Christian story, or Jackie's nipple.
I was really hoping to see Ric Flair take the IC belt from RVD, but I guess Randy Orton is gonna win it.
So I guess Kane is gonna get a title shot at Armageddon after he chokeslammed Goldberg for no reason at all. He'll probably run in on the HHH-Goldberg match next week since HHH has jobbed to Goldberg more than he has to anyone, including Shawn Michaels.

Real Reason Austin's Off RAW, Rue/Afterburn

while WWE did want to generate more interest in Austin on RAW, one of the big reasons for giving him time off from TV is that he asked for time off to go deer hunting. He always requests time off during deer hunting season, and it was granted this year. WWE also wanted to give him a break in his heavy schedule, since he's been doing a lot of PR work for his book.

Ganguro 11-25-2003 06:42 AM

Can we say Jericho Face turn?
yay!
Finally Chris is getting some airtime, and a little smooch each week from Tris proally isnt hurting much :)

Though from what i hear he hates working tag matches..

rockzilla 11-25-2003 07:19 AM

I loved the look on Jericho's face as he left the ring after Superkicking Shawn Michaels. Like he knew he was gonna get some. I think next week we'll see a very frustrated Jericho being told by Trish that Superkicking your tag partner isn't "doing the right thing". And the soap opera continues.

Looks like Flair got a nasty broken nose in that match too.

Too bad HHH-Goldberg wasn't a Capture The Midget match for the title. Maybe the ending wouldn't have been so badly botched. Speaking of which. The backstage segment with HHH, Kane and Bischoff afterwards where the triple threat match was announced made HHH look like a 'Lucky Pierre'. I guess a 3-way match is the only way that either HHH or Goldberg would be willing to put Kane over. Hopefully he wins and holds onto the belt for more than 24 hours this time.

gnort 11-25-2003 09:15 AM

Quote:

Smackdown!

Paul Heyman heads to the ring to open the show and declares that tonight there will be a 20 man Battle Royal - with the winner receiving a title shot against Brock Lesnar.

(1) Chris Benoit defeated Matt Morgan via submission. Standard match which did little to get Morgan over.

A video hyping The Cat aired.

(2) Akio w/Tajiri defeated Jamie Noble w/Nidia. Tajiri was hitting on Nidia at ringside, until Nidia delivered a low blow. Very average match.

Paul Heyman is in the back and puts over Shannon Moore, telling him he's the future of Smackdown.

(3) Nathan Jones beat Shannon Moore. Almost a total squash - at least they are putting Jones over.

(4) Eddy Guerrero defeated Charlie Haas. Eddy used Chavo's crutch to attack Haas, thus cheating to win. Decent match.

(5) John Cena pinned A-Train after hitting his finisher, the F-U. A good match, the match of the night.

The Cat makes his debut and comes out dancing, bringing Torrie Wilson out with him.

(6) Chris Benoit and John Cena both won a 20 man Battle Royal which also included Bradshaw, Eddy Guerrero, Orlando Jordan, Ultimo Dragon, A-Train, Chuck Palumbo, Johnny the Bull, TWGTT, Rey Mysterio, Basham Brothers, Rhyno, Rikishi, Scotty Too Hotty, Nathan Jones, Matt Morgan & the Big Show.

Both Benoit and Cena's feet touched the floor at the same time making this a draw. Heyman then announced that Cena will wrestle Benoit next week to determine who will get the title shot against Brock Lesnar. Lesnar then came out and beat on Benoit and Cena, delivering the F-5 to both men.

Overall a decent enough show, with a slightly fresher feel to it due to the Battle Royal. The Benoit/Cena/Lesnar stuff is great and of course the eventual 3-way match will be amazing. The Cat didn't make much of an impact on his debut, but he got a nice reaction mostly due to Wilson doing a sexy dance routine. No standout matches on the card but nothing too offensive.

Prophecy 12-01-2003 10:26 PM

well after seeing raw I guess I can say so much for Y2J and Christian turning face :)

I'm glad to Foley back even if it is only for a little while, he certainly lightened up the mood.

JohnnyRock 12-02-2003 06:20 AM

missed chunks of raw...what happened with Christian and Jerricho? As for Foley...it is a great way to keep him involved for WM XX and hold the spot for Austin...

rockzilla 12-02-2003 07:47 AM

It turns out Christian and Jericho's respective relationships are just part of a bet between them to see who can score first. I was pretty surprised and I'm still wondering where the story will go now, my guess is the first ever men vs. women tag team match or something.

So at the end of RAW when Foley told Bishoff that he went around firing all the bad guys to teach Bischoff a lesson. Does that mean Test and Steiner and La Resistance aren't really fired?

JohnnyRock 12-02-2003 08:41 AM

that's pretty interesting...that can go a lot of ways. Thanks

As for Foley I am pretty sure that is what it means...I also think this will lead to some kind of:

A. Fued between the two as as a way for Austin to come back [either by a winner gets a favor/austin comes back] Stip or

B. Bishcoff getting so fed up with Foley he begs Linda to bring Austin back...

Either way Foley will be involved at WMXX, which is a goal of his...

brandon11983 12-02-2003 08:55 AM

Thanks for the recap 'Spleen. Doesn't sound like I missed much on Thurs. Raw last night was pretty good. I was soooo sad to see my beautiful Trish crying over Jericho. And as always, I was super pumped to see Goldberg whoop ass. I just love the intensity he has. Foley is a welcome addition to the roster. A good show overall.

Yep, but the question is since Test wasn't really fired does that mean Stacey is still his under his contract or not? Or did Foley fire them then rehire everybody under new contracts thus voiding the old ones and letting Stacey go free?

DownwardSpiral 12-02-2003 01:36 PM

My guess is Stacy will be freed from the grasp of Test and Steiner, those goons get annoying sometimes.

Bobaphat 12-04-2003 08:20 PM

Foley's back! Can't wait to see how this plays out.

brandon11983 12-05-2003 08:36 AM

Could someone please give me a recap of SmackDown! last night (12-4-03)? For whatever reason, the recording didn't happen (AGAIN!). I stood there and pressed the damn record button too. It only recorded the first 2 minutes. I would be much obliged.

Prophecy 12-05-2003 10:53 AM

I know it's a link, but this guy already wrote a good summary of what happened last night, enjoy :)

brandon11983 12-05-2003 05:51 PM

Thanks Prophecy, doesn't sound like I missed much. I did see the very end of the show. That was a nasty hold that Brock had Benoit in.

EDIT: I found some stuff online that would give me an inkling that Sable is going to (or already has) pose/d for Playboy again. Anyone else excited about that??!! I sure am!

DownwardSpiral 12-08-2003 05:43 PM

Nathan Jones has quit WWE from what I've heard. rumor has it he had a bad trip, got mad and walked out. I don't really care though, he wasn't all that impressive.

rockzilla 12-08-2003 06:01 PM

You don't know how happy that makes me! I wish him a long and successful career somewhere I won't have to see him on TV.

Prophecy 12-08-2003 06:56 PM

I've read that Jones feels that he isn't up to all the traveling that is required in the WWE.

Also I've read that Scott Hall is supposedly sober now and is trying to get back into wrestling shape. :) Go Razor

IF YOU SAMMMMEEEELLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rocky!! Rocky!! Rocky!! Woo hoo!! The Rock is back!! For how long remains to be seen. It was good to see Big Poppa Test come out without poor Stacy. I'd say it was one of the best Raw's in recent memory. I went through the roof when Trish decked Jericho, and then proceeded to assualt him with a bouquet. I was really hoping they weren't going to have her fall for his line of BS. The Kane/Goldberg match was ok. Had predictable results with previews for all the major matches on the last Raw before whatever PPV is coming up.

A good show overall.

rockzilla 12-09-2003 07:33 AM

I really enjoyed RAW too. I'm only a little surprised that Jericho/Christian vs. Trish/Lita was added to the PPV. Although I'd rather see Jericho in a real match. And I guess this ruins the Christian/V1 feud.
RVD/Batista was pretty sloppy. I remember reading that RVD's contract was expiring soon, I guess he resigned? He didn't seem too into the match.
I always enjoy seeing The Rock, and to have him reform the Rock n' Sock connection for a night was awesome. Rock and Foley have/had great chemistry.

Prophecy 12-09-2003 12:23 PM

the RVD/Bastista match was sloppy and a few of the bumps looked painful. But the 6 man tag with with Test and Rosey looked the worst, I thought Rosey dropped Test on his neck, I'd love to see a replay of that to see what really happened. Same goes for when RVD did that roll over Bastisa's back and fell off.

Lastly, I know I said Y2J wasn't going to turn face, but after the looks of he gave on RAW when the male vs female tag match was made, I get the impression he turns on Christian at the ppv and goes face. Maybe Christian tries to give Trish the Un-prettier and Y2J goes beserk?

Can you post your source for this?

brandon11983 12-10-2003 10:08 AM

From RajahWWF.com:

Quote:

Chris Chisum with the Voice of Wrestling recently caught up with Smackdown’s
blonde bombshell, Sable, to discuss her return to the WWE, her divorce status with
husband Marc Mero, women and their role in wrestling, plus much more. With Sable
willing to answer a few hardball questions, this interview gets a little
controversial and is definitely worth checking out. It can be heard in its
entirety at www.voiceofwrestling.com.

Third time isn’t the charm anymore in Sable’s opinion because in her case, the
second time has been the charm upon her return to work for Vince McMahon. There was
a lot of talk about her somewhat "hypocritical" return to the WWE, but she claims
that this was the best thing for her. "It’s a whole different company," she
says, "I’ve always enjoyed working with Vince, but this time it’s just
wonderful".

Taking four years off from the business, Sable stayed busy in the Entertainment
Industry, but she missed performing in front of a live audience. Contrary to most,
Sable also likes being on the road and traveling. There’s nothing that compares
to the gratification you receive after doing a job well done in front of a live
crowd. "That’s the aspect of the business that I missed the most".

Everyone in the wrestling business, including most fans, are very aware of the
lawsuit she filed years ago against the WWE, but Sable feels the media have
misconstrued some of the things that may or may have not been said. "You know what,
the media kind of takes a lot of things that may have been said once or they take
things out of context, so it’s not necessarily that those were actually the things
that the lawsuit was filed for," she claims, "but that’s four years ago, it’s
over and done with, we’ve moved on to the future. I’m back and couldn’t be
happier".

Chris asks about her comfort level and whether it has changed much since returning
to the WWE. She reiterates how the business has changed since she was there last
and now she’s working with a different group of people. The "close-knit, almost
extended family" she claims it is like may be the reason she does feel a little more
comfortable. "I think myself as a person has grown tremendously over the last four
years. I think I have a better understanding of who I am and what my actual job is
on the show. So yeah, I think I am a lot more comfortable this time around".

Sable has different goals this go around as she has already been the Women’s
Champion. Because she’s not on Raw, she really has no interest in going there to
work with the women’s division and she also has no desire to wrestle men (at least
not "professionally" she proclaims). "Right now, I have different goals in mind
and I’m looking on those goals," she says, "right now, I’m enjoying very much
what I do".

"My personal life is great," Sable announces, but Chris brings up her situation with
Marc Mero asking if he was in support of her return to the WWE. "Yes, my husband
and I are divorcing. I can’t say nothing but good things about him, he’s a
wonderful man . Unfortunately, it just didn’t work out". On whether the hectic
schedule had anything to do with it and how hard it is to be able to spend time with
family, Sable says it’s much better this time around.

Chris and Sable continue with the interview, bringing up Playboy (Sable tells Chris
to keep his eyes open), future plans, and she also tells Chris he needs a
girlfriend! You can head over to the Voice of Wrestling website to listen to this
interview, plus others with wrestling greats such as Rob Van Dam, Ric Flair, Chris
Jericho, Kurt Angle, Bradshaw, Sid Vicious, Joanie Laurer, Harley Race, Gillberg,
and many more!

rockzilla 12-13-2003 06:15 PM

Since I'm probably going to watch Armageddon tomorrow night, I figured I'd throw up a few predictions, so, here goes nothing...

Trish/Lita vs. Jericho/Christian

It's a safe bet that Matt Hardy will involve himself in this match. I'm guessing Trish and Lita get the DQ win when Hardy runs in, but Jericho turns face when he defends Trish.

Booker T vs. Mark Henry

For some reason, Vince has a HUGE hard-on for Mark Henry. Unfortunately, he'll win the match, since the WWE has to justify the massive paycheques they give him.

HBK vs. Batista

Well.... Michaels has already jobbed to Randy Orton, who seems to be headed for Heavyweight gold by the end of next year. I don't see the same future for Batista though. There's no good reason for Batista to win this match, so I'm picking the Showstopper.

RVD vs. Randy Orton for the Intercontinental Title
Special Guest Referee : Mick Foley

Mick Foley is going to screw Randy Orton out of the title. Orton is going to win the IC belt soon, but it won't be at Armageddon.

Tag Team Turmoil : Dudleyz (champs) vs, Jindrak & Cade, Shit Hurricane, Storm & Venis, Test & Steiner, La Resistance

Although there's a lot of talent in this match, I have a feeling that this is going to be an unwatchable clusterfuck that will end with Jindrak and Cade winning the belts. Hopefully they get themselves a gimmick of some sorts really soon.

World Championship : Goldberg (c) vs. HHH vs. Kane

There are good arguments for picking any of these three to win : Kane has a relatively new gimmick, and has been pushed as an unstoppable monster recently (by beating up Shane-O-Mac?), Goldberg is also an unstoppable monster, and is the only non-clique member to hold the belt since it's return. (HHH and Shawn Michaels are the only people who have held the RAW belt), and Triple H, well, he's fucking the boss' daughter. My guess is that this match is a triple threat so that both Goldberg and HHH can lose without looking weaker than the other. My pick is Kane.

I don't think this is going to be a good PPV at all. There are only 6 matches, and I'd be surprised if anything but the Tag Team Turmoil match and the World title match go any longer than 7 minutes. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of useless Bischoff/Foley sketches.

Prophecy 12-13-2003 07:17 PM

Nice picks I'll agree with everyone of your picks but The World Heavyweight Belt. And to the tell the truth the only reason I disagree is b/c I don't think Kane can carry the belt well, at least not in his current state. I pick HHH to come out on top.

Oh and for the Tag Team match, I seriously hope Jindrak & Cade don't win the titles, but if the Dudley's lose the titles like I think they will. Well I can see Jindrak & Cade coming out on top through some crazy ass twist.

Prophecy 12-14-2003 08:49 PM

WWE Armageddon

Quick results on who won and how.
----------------------------------

Singles match, 1 fall
Booker T vs. Mark Henry

Booker hits a scissors kick pinned Mark Henry for the win.
Winner - Booker T

Intercontinental Championship Match
Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam

Orton is laid on the mat as RVD goes for his finisher. Flair interrupts RVD right before he starts the Five Star Frog Splash, in the confusion Orton knocks RVD of the top rope and hits a RKO.
Winner: Randy Orton

Battle of the Sexes
Chris Jericho and Christian vs. Trish Stratus and Lita

Jericho picked up Trish to seemingly check on her but Christian rolled her up from behind.
Winners - Christian and Chris Jericho

Singles match, 1 fall
Shawn Michaels vs. Batista

Sweet Chin Music :) Need I say more?
Winner - Shawn Michaels

Singles match, 1 fall
Matt Hardy vs. Maven

Basicly, Maven get’s jumped out side of the ring. The says Maven is beaten up so bad that the match doesn’t give get to start.
Winner - No contest

Tag Team Championship Match-Tag Team Turmoil Match
La Resistance vs. the Hurricane & Rosey vs. Scott Steiner & Test vs. Lance Storm & Val Venis vs. Jindrak and Cade vs. The Dudley Boyz

Okay, here we go. Starts with Hurricane and Rosey vs. La Resistance. Hurricane gave Rob Conway a big splash off of Rosey's shoulders to pin him for the three count. Next, Jindrak and Cade hit the ring. Jindrak rolled the Hurricane up for the three count to get the win. Lance Storm and Val Venis are next. Val went for a suplex but Jindrak reversed it and Cade grabbed the feet of Mark Jindrak to help hold Val Venis down on the mat for a three count. Now it’s Dudley time. The Dudley Boyz planted Mark Jindrak with the 3D and then Bubba Ray pinned him for the three count to get the win. Scott Steiner and Test run in. Bubba Ray Dudley gave Test the Bubba Bomb and then D-Von Dudley rolled over and pinned him for the three count to retain the Tag Team Titles.

Now for the fucked up part. As the music of the Dudley Boyz played in the ring, Eric Bischoff's music cuts it off and Bischoff makes his way out to the ring. He grabbed the mic and said that in order to win Tag Team Turmoil, you have to go through all the teams and there is one team who has yet to compete. At this point we greeted to a new challenging Tag Team. Batista and Ric Flair.

In the end Batista gave D-Von the sit out power bomb as Ric Flair had Bubba Ray Dudley in the figure four leg lock. Batista pinned D-Von for the three count.
Winners: Batista and Ric Flair (WTF?)

Women's Championship Match
Ivory vs. Molly Holly

Molly hooked Ivory’s tights for a win.
Winner: Molly Holly

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Kane vs. Triple H vs. Goldberg

Goldberg spears HHH & Kane. Flair and Orton come to interfere. Goldberg then gets another spear on HHH. But, Kane breaks up the pin. Kane then chokeslams Goldberg. Batista takes Kane to the outside, and then HHH gets the pin.
Winner: HHH

----------------------

Maybe now Molly Holly will join Evolution, that way Evolution will hold all the gold on RAW....

rockzilla 12-14-2003 10:14 PM

Edit : posted results at the same time as Prophecy, nevermind.

Armageddon was pretty awful. Aside from the Randy Orton / RVD match, which was a nice surprise, there was nothing of note. Not to mention that Evolution has all the gold, I don't wanna guess for how long.

DownwardSpiral 12-15-2003 01:26 PM

I'm pretty annoyed by the fact that 1) Triple H got the title back already and 2) Evolution has monopolized the major RAW titles. It's ridiculous and I hope that bullshit don't last long.

Me too, but as it has been stated before... what do you expect when their leader is nailing the boss's daughter?

Prophecy 12-15-2003 04:59 PM

What gets me is this, I could understand HHH winning back his title, same for Orton. But the Tag Team Titles was a shot in the dark. I mean, Bastisa and Flair weren't even shown as a true tag team ever on RAW.

gnort 12-16-2003 07:43 AM

Anyone see RAW last night....WTF is going on. I'm losing faith in the WWE once again.

Daval 12-16-2003 10:12 AM

The whole Foley segment was a little wierd. I wonder where they are going with it? I sure hope they don't fuck it up.

I'm looking forward to Jericho's full face turn, I think they may finally give him a push to the top (wishful thinking?)

This got me thinking, if you'll permit me a little fantasy booking...
Molly joins Evolution for some reason or another, maybe she has a thing for Randy Orton or something. Molly defends the title against Trish, but the match ends with interference from Orton. Jericho runs out for the save, finally turns face, gets Trish back, and is in a feud with Orton which could (but probably won't) progress to a program against HHH.

Jericho could easily be the biggest face on Raw, the crowd was behind him when he turned on Christian. As long as he's a heel he'll be kept in the midcard.

Prophecy 12-16-2003 04:35 PM

Not a bad plot line, to bad the WWE doesn't have writers who could think of something like that. Y2J is going to go face, but against Christian especially after that mini-shoving match on RAW. I still think Molly joining Evolution could have some promise, it all depends on how things work out.

However if things worked out the way mentioned rockzilla I think a Fatal Four Way match with Y2J, Christian, RVD and Orton for the IC title would great.

Now thats a great storyline possibility. You should apply to the WWE as a writer :)

rockzilla 12-17-2003 06:06 PM

Nah, I'd probably get fired for booking Mark Henry and Goldberg to set up the ring while Chris Jericho and Booker T fought for the title. I'd have a bunch of Necrophilia-style angles for HHH to be subjected to though. Every feud would reveal a disturbing new side of his personality.

Prophecy 12-17-2003 06:51 PM

Does anyone else think Rico is just a revamped Goldust persona? Sure Rico does some stuff different from Goldust the but whole gay but not gay thing was started by Goldust and should remain his.

Besides, Goldlust was a much better theme than Rico's You Look So Good to Me Remix :)

rockzilla 12-19-2003 06:30 PM

Goldust did the gay thing better than Rico, but with Dustin Runnels no longer being employed by the WWE, someone's gotta take the job. I still remember Goldust feeling up Razor Ramon and being over as a huge heel. Someone's gotta play off of the crowd's homophobia.

A couple of thoughts on Smackdown...

Although I won't be watching the 'Christmas in Iraq' Smackdown special (i'll set my VCR for it though), who here thinks John Cena'll win the US title next week? It makes perfect sense, he gets the biggest crowd reaction (even bigger that Eddie G), and I don't think The Big Slow has even defended the belt since he won it from Eddie.
The only other segment on SD that I really noticed was the bit with The Cat, Sable, and Vince. I really hope this turns into a Cat vs. Mcmahon match at the Rumble (I don't even know if I'm being sarcastic or not... somebody call my mama)

DownwardSpiral 12-19-2003 11:45 PM

WWE has no idea what they're doing on RAW. It's getting [retty stupid over there I think. SmackDown has a few problems too, I.E Vince handing Lesnar everything yaya etc. WWE seriously needs to get better writers, but thats just an opinion.

brandon11983 12-20-2003 01:53 PM

Forgive me, but who in the Blue Hell is this Cat character? I've watched a little of his segments over the past 2 weeks and I have not been taken in. It just seems like filler to me. I do agree that the WWE could use some new writers, and they can use their energies to produce interesting storylines that don't include disco dancing cats.

Ganguro 12-20-2003 06:05 PM

Ernest "the Cat" Miller, former WCW superstar, and all around good guy.

holtmate 12-20-2003 08:16 PM

DownwardSpiral...I couldn't agree with you more on the RAW writing. I was not suprised with the outcome of the Foley/Orton match, but I was still disappointed, and that after Armageddon, the sloppiest PPV I've seen, period.
I am still very much looking forward to the Rumble, I just hope that they book some good undercard matches.

ChrisJericho 12-22-2003 01:09 AM

Whooooa how did I ever miss THIS thread?

Hehe unfortunately with my new job I haven't been able to watch WWE for about 3 weeks, but it's nice to know there's some fellow wrestling fans here at the TFP !

Prophecy 12-22-2003 06:56 PM

After watching part of tonight's RAW, tonight featured the greatest matches of the year 2003, I just have to say I never realized how much the crowd hated Goldberg in the "Goldberg vs. The Rock" match at Backlash.

I saw booing, and people yelling BS when he kicked out of the Rock Bottom and The People's Elbow. I never heard one chant in favor of Goldberg but I did hear "Goldberg Sucks" a few times and several "Rocky! Rocky!" chants. WCW Superstar face or not Goldberg sure as hell didn't get much love in that match.

On a side note does anyone know if the rumor's of Goldberg not having his contract renewed have any merit or not?

DownwardSpiral 12-23-2003 12:25 AM

I haven't heard anything about Goldberg's contract, butif I do I'll be sure to post it. Wouldn't surprise me if they did let him go though. Can't really work him into anything, and he wasn't nearly as big an impact wrestler as WWE expected him to be. He gets heat from the crowds quite a bit from what I've noticed. So if they let him go I woulden't be too shocked by it.

brandon11983 12-23-2003 11:43 AM

I think Goldberg and HBK are the only two wrestlers on the RAW roster I even care about. It would majorly suck if Goldberg got canned.

DownwardSpiral 12-26-2003 02:36 PM

What did you guys think of the SmackDown from Iraq?

psicon 12-26-2003 08:07 PM

The Rico character is a take off of " Adorable" Adrian Adonis's gimmick from the 80's, or maybe Adrian Street also from the 80's

Well my question about Goldberg leaving was based on an article I read at this link.

http://www.prowrestlingscoops.com/he...74558977.shtml

brandon11983 12-28-2003 09:25 AM

Uh oh. I hope they can work everything out. I don't care about selling to heels, who deserves what title, or any of that shit. Goldberg is the only wrestler on RAW that brings any intensity or excitement to the show. Him and HBK are pretty much the only reasons I watch the show anymore.

DownwardSpiral 12-30-2003 10:18 PM

I loved the Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels match on RAW. It was one of the better matches I've seen for a while. I hope that if their rematch takes place it's just as good. And did anyone else notice that it looked like Scott Steiner initially missed that low blow on Rob Vam Dam?

ChrisJericho 12-31-2003 04:15 PM

Oh fuck off... that'd be awesome. I think I'm the only Goldberg fan in the known universe!!

Prophecy 01-04-2004 02:02 PM

Goldberg is fun for me to watch on and off. I just can't stand to see him on a continuous basis. The man has no mic skills and seeing him in 12 matches that follow the same story board of moves is silly.

1) Goldberg body slams the guy
2) Goldberg waits for the guy to get up to spear him.
3) From the spear we see the Jackhammer and match over.

*Yawn*

It's true most WWE matches end that way, but in most cases especially in the WCW that was Goldberg's whole match. Also, I don't care if Goldberg's gimmick is being a beast or not, I hate the fact that he's been allowed to kick out of most superstar's finishers not once in a match but twice. (HHH, Kane, The Rock, etc.)
