Irvine Welsh fans

Any Irvine Welsh fans out there?

What do you think about his later work?

Years ago Trainspotting had a big impact on me, and nothing he has written since has been really close. I liked Ecstasy and i just finished Glue (which was pretty good). Porno was a big let down, although it was fun to see what Renton and the boys were up to.

I've wanted to read Porno for a long time, but have never gotten aroung to buying it. I wasn't sure whether or not it was going to be a good book, I just wanted to see what happened next after seeing Trainspotting

Porno is not brilliant.

It's got some crossover with trainspoting (characters and locations), but it's a long way from being as groundbreaking.

I've read both Trainspotting and Ecstacy--loved both. Haven't gotten beyond those two though. Ecstacy was by far my favorite of the two.

Eventually I'll get around to reading his other books

Yeah Trainspotting was the best for me. My favourite character was Spud.
